  • umm I think those are Chinese dresses... and I'm Japanese so I know.

  • People are so skeptical and feel such a need to figure things out they often just can't appreciate something to be beautiful for what it is

  • I remember it used to be on archive dot org; enough people complained to get banned, as I remember.

  • this is very beautiful

  • Wrong, wrong, wrong. If U look at 0:58 you see hands.

  • @pemdas927 No there's a sort of tail on the dress. Gravity just pulls it to the floor.

  • whoa this video is super cool!!!!!! it's totally obvious that they're on the floor though!!!!! it's super easy to do, you can make a video like this at home!!!

  • poor young lad supporting the whole crew.

  • this video was reversed but still its really cool

  • @Darrin1997 trolling or serious?

  • Ok! At 00:58 you can tell they are lying down...this is super cool nonetheless

  • fantastico. não importa o quanto saibamos que é um truque!!

  • Hello, I've been wondering that who wrote this piano piece, I love this japanise-style piece, insomuch that I had remake it by ear using 'Finale'... It was pretty good, nevertheless I wish to know who wrote this piece... If anyone knows not who did it, I'll keep the authory with the prefix 'Arr' (in order to not look like a thief),.. I already did an arrangement for Strings Quintet of this piece and I'm going towards to do some more arrangements...

  • I did this at circusschool too, it's really cool :D But it's really difficult :P

  • esta PELICULA ESTA ECHA EN 1907 EVIDENTEMENTE NO EN COLOR.... POR SEGUNDO DE CHOMON QUE SE TUVO QUE IR A FRANCIA PORQUE EN ESPAÑA AUN NO HABIA CINE.

HOY ME HAN HABLADO DE ELLA EN CLASE, ESTE DIRECTOR INVENTO EL "PASO DE MANIVELA" QUE ES LO MISMO QUE HOY EN DIA EL STOP-MOTION....

  • Muy bien hecho!!

  • It was 1907 - chew on that for a second. Look at everything else that was done, even up till 1920 and compare it to this. The quality is quite good, and yes, the color was hand painted.

  • @helpdeskdan no way! they painted that all on!!?? i'm impressed...

  • @crayyawn Exactly, 1907 - no color photography back then. Very impressive, for pre-1910

  • dont u get it?

they do their tricks on the floor... the cam is obviously on the ceiling. i did 2 of their tricks with my friends... but we have to admit it... the video is cool!

  • qué barbaridad!!!, lo hacen ECHADOS!!!!!!!!, dense cuenta y no caigan.

  • Si estan a la horizontal, chulo!...

  • chulo??

  • Some knows the name of background music??

  • corse eat

  • bok gibi

  • this is really good, i like the efect, they are in the floor

  • Thats sorry as much as it is nice to watch is it not real, they are defying the laws of physics in here!!

    Thank you computer!

  • I didn't know they had computers in 1907, when Segundo de Chomón made this short film. Please tell me more of other modern paradigm shifting technological advances that escaped historical record.

  • This is shot horizontally (on the floor): There is no computer, because there is no need...

  • @Cameloterie It also looks like it was shown backwards

  • This is shot horizontally (on the floor): There is no computer, because there is no need...

  • Hand-painted... omg lefeeverte...

  • on dirais pas que c'est vrai

  • wow c'est frais! au début j'avais pas capté..

  • A treat ! Marvellous

  • it's pretty cool.

reminds me of e Japanese variety. tat creativity show. =D

  • Word up

  • Hey smart people, so you've obviously guessed how they did this (it's not that difficult). You also probably probably figured out that w/ today's computer software you can make any film seem old. It's entertainment and like eq2lornick said, regardless, it is still fun and creative. Try not to critique someone's work unless you think you're an expert in the field.

  • So what? They're just laying down and it's a shot from above? Pretty boring.

  • Reminded me of Polish artist Katarzyna Kozyra's

The Rite of Spring work from 1999-2002.

  • Regardless if it's an illusion, it's very creative and fun.

  • what is the music playing?

  • i don't think they had color video in 1907.... but it seems old, either way...

  • it was hand-painted

  • Haha, very nice!

  • Jajaja, history strikes back!

  • Still good though.

  • Indeed, it's made in 1907 , very old trick.

  • easy to figure this one out :)
