  • I had corresponded with steve during the startup of all this awfulness; I was trained as a biologist and I could see that he had done nothing wrong; Problem is the feds never like to admit they have blown anything and got it wrong and so will go on spending our tax dollars to pusnish the innocent..

  • I'm steve kurtz too... nice

  • The Controllers are losing their grip. You must keep going as best you can. Within 3 and one half years the truth of their Powers and Deceitfulness will be exposed and told. Its happening right now. God really does LOVES YOU Steve. Your next life is going to be so brilliant but only God can give it to you, you can't jump. RM

  • This how Nazi Germany started, persecuting groups or individuals for activities that may bevaguely perceived as threats to the State.

That Patriot Act has so screwed you guys.

  • Kurtz is an ivory trader, sent by a shadowy Belgian company into the heart of the Congo Free State. With the help of his superior technology, Kurtz has turned himself into a charismatic demigod of all the tribes surrounding his station, and gathered vast quantities of ivory in this way. As a result, his name is known throughout the region. The general manager of the company's Congo operation is jealous of Kurtz, and plots his downfall.

  • I'm glad you cleared that up

  • On April 21st, charges against Kurtz were finally dismissed.

    From the Herald Tribune:

"U.S. District Judge Richard Arcara ruled that a mail and wire fraud indictment brought nearly four years ago against Steven Kurtz, a University at Buffalo professor, was "insufficient on its face."

  • i really liked the film ... why have we made our artists, our thinkers, our heroes the enemy? what have we become? are we so scared that we must cripple our thoughts ... our selves?

  • I saw "Strange Culture" tonight and listened to Steve answer questions after the documentary. The fact that the Patriot Act gives the DOJ the right to arrest and prosecute just about ANYONE they want for the smallest of infractions (real or not) is something that will, if gone unchecked, change the face of America for ever.

    RON PAUL 2008

  • It's $200 to complete your contract, no matter what mobile service you use or how far into your contract you have gone. They justify this by saying you are paying for the phone, but the reality is: this figure is not pro-rated. What kind of fascist dictatorship is the Private Entity these days?

  • Are you scared of what our country has become? They can now arrest artists for trying to expose genetic mutation of fruits and vegetables by big pharma and Monsanto?

Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate to vote against the Patriot Act, National ID and regulating the Internet. He's our last chance.

  • The fact that they have not withdrawn the charges yet will bring more attention to Steve's plight and the injustice of this case. Of course, I do recognize that bio-engineered foods are a way off controling the population, by big agro-business too. Maybe the feds. should be looking at them instead of art exhibitions. The role of the artist is to reflect what is happening in our world today.

  • This is what one gets for signing away one's rights through Patriot Act and the like.

I hope the case against Kurtz is finally dropped.

It would be ludicrous if it wasn't so scary.

  • this is unbelievable crap.. I remember this story from the news..

  • Hello students,

Welcome to your first class of Police state 101.

  • Interesting

  • nice one.

also, check out my film. xxx

  • Glad that you are getting the word/truth out.

  • ABSOLUTE BULLSH|T on the part of the FBI. I agree with cyrex686 that this should have never gone beyond questioning. They duped us with the patriot act and now we're living in a police state. This country is going straight down the tubes.

  • An incredible story. I especially like the way the FBI operates out in the field. What a joke!!!

  • Sounds really malicious to me. I can tend to understand the initial paranoia about lab equipment because of all the scare stories about meth. It should not have went anything beyond a questioning of what the paramedics saw to rule that out though.

  • paranoid axxholes

  • Jim, this is absolutely incredible! I hadn't even heard the story about Steve, now I just can't stop thinking about the implications of this! MANY thanks for the link... :)

  • hey jim and angie. nice one. best from paris. t + c
