Yes, I use it for a couple hours and my arm hurt. So maybe PVC pipe would be lighter. Right this minute my arms are hurting from painting my house with a paint roller! So I can relate! lol I'll go watch your video. Thanks for stopping by!
That "flapping thing" is called a shock mount and is attatched to the Rode Videomic. It prevents the microphone from picking up any tapping noises, or noises when you move the camera (you'll notice it has elastics which work as tension bands to allow for any movement). It sounds obscure - but it really does work and the Rode Videomic is a great buy!
Hi Gene and Freida, Can you please send me your email asap. Thomas from Stonewallstudios and I want to show you something to see if you can play a small part. Its sooooooo much fun and you will love it. I cant send messages thru youtube for some reason so please send email. thanks patti
Actually the shotgun's not for a wedding. It's for when folks complain about the spaghetti & meatballs being $7.99...you guys are great, keep it commin'...
Lol, that's funny you caught that! I was thinking about what I was going to say next and missed it. Gene sneaks those funny comments in sometime! We have a lot more ideas coming soon! Freida
That Zoom is pretty amazing! Thats an excellent device you made there to steady the unit. The shotgun mic is quite something too, amazing to think these things would have cost thousands a few years ago. Great show guys, you should be on TV!
Thanks Speedy! The steadycam's still cost a lot. This young man invented it. You can ordered it built from him. But I had fun putting it together. Freida
Hehehehe. You guys are great:)) This was a *short* long video. When you were messing around with the "dead cat" I thought for a minute you were going do do a "dead cat bounce" and a "dead cat pounce" bit there for a minute with the dead cat.
"Dead cat bounce" is a term commonly used in the stock market to describe what happens to a stock which crashes severely and then rises a small amount before dropping lower. Sorta like what would happen if you dropped a dead cat off a tall building. I made the pounce part up since it rhymed with bounce.

Isn't that a funny name for that, Dead Cat! Never heard of the deat cat pounce or bounce! It was windy the other day and we forgot to use it! lol

I've heard a cat fart! And her bum was pointing at me! The consequences were worse than the sound! LOL!
That steadycam looks really cool! I'm sending the link to hubby :-)
That was GREAT! Love to see you two hanging out together.
