  • Just got this scope for my .22 air rifle. What mount are you using?

  • What software did u use to figure this out...(elavation adjustment). Thanks

  • @ModernMan316

    STP (SimpleTrajectoryProgram)

  • how often do you change the elevation dial would you say? if i were to change elevation constantly for every use, do you think the scope would still hold its original zero after many shots? thanks.

  • @viper2788

Since I always shoot at center reticle, I change elevation every time I change range.

I have click charts printed out for each ammo type and adjust as needed.

Yes, the scope holds just fine.

  • tiny is a nice dog

  • @OGCrystalBay

Tiny was actually a stray that wondered onto our property.

In fact, I nearly shot him when he walked behind my 100yard field targets.

Apparently, someone abandoned him as no one in our area claimed him even after putting out ads and posting countless flyers.

Great dog.....we kept him for a couple of weeks and found him a good home (one of my car club members took him in)

  • I bought a $50 Center Point 3x9 illuminated reticle scope for my Hi-Point 995ts 9mm Carbine. Im very much satisfied with its accuracy at 100yards. Im sure the Scope is capable of longer ranged shots, but my rifle isn't. I'd highly recommend this for anyone who's needing a Cost effective scope that mostly interested in Target shooting. Seems to Keep its Zero quite well. Sighted it in once, and havnt had to touch the settings yet.....Oh-and Love the illuminated crosshairs, very nice touch.

  • sounds like elavator music....... lol

  • Hey I was wondering if that scope can fit on a crossman phantom

  • @ddc0808 any scope can fit on any gun with the right mounts

  • Now, if only we could take that gun vice to the jungle on a real sniper mission, we could hit every-time.

  • song?

  • @SXITony

    Whitewash by Buckethead

  • @98snakeeater what an awesome tune thx

  • @SXITony

    I'm a big Buckethead fan.

  • I have a Center Point 4-16X on a .22, I do not have enough elevation and am opting to shim the rear base. How are you doing it at 100? Hold over? I am worried there is something wrong with the scope.

  • @JimmyGunXD556

    Is it a 40mm or 50mm scope?

There was a bad batch of 40mm scopes on the shelves a couple years back that had similar problems.

CenterPoint replaced them free of charge.

  • @98snakeeater AHHHH HAAAAAA!!! I bought it 2 years ago. Its a 40mm. Sweet, I will call Crosman!! Thank you very much !!!!!!

  • @98snakeeater They exchanged it. $10 shipping. Thanks again.

  • @JimmyGunXD556

    Glad to hear it

  • so gamo whisper .177 or .22 cal? nitro piston..centerpoint scope. Trigger mods?

  • What the heck!? Me and my uncle all summer... we spent the entire summer trying to make these scopes work on our gamo shadow express rifles and nothing... we couldn't even begin to imagine 100 yards..

  • This video showed me the capabilities of the Crossman Premier Domed Hollow Points...I think that is what I will go with when I buy my CFX in the next couple of days. I hope that my taxes come in soon, I really would like to get out and do some shooting. Thanks again, Michael

  • Nice shooting

  • Would this scope work for a 66 powermaster bb gun with a weaver rail

  • This is a very good scope for the money, i can't recall off the top of my head the exact model but it cost me 85 bucks at walmart. I have it mounted on a AR15/M16 full size .223. Ive fired at least 200 rounds so far and havnt had an issue. I recommend you zero i'n at 50 yards then just use your mil dots. Ive shot as far as 200 yards and the grouping was really good. I just took it off because I painted my rifle cammo so im headed back out to the range just to make sure it's still spiffy.

  • Do you know how to insert battery to enable the illumination. I can't crank that small cap open.

  • Is this scope made for air rifle or is it just a regular rifle scope?

  • @UsMarineInfantry0311

Yes, it's made to handle the 2-way recoil of a springer air rifle, so you can pretty much mount it to anything without worry of glass breakage due to recoil shock.

  • @98snakeeater Thank you for the advice, I will look into getting one of theses scopes. Makes you almost like a sniper :) Do you know what average retail should be on this particular model optic?

  • @UsMarineInfantry0311

You can pick one up for under $85 bucks at Pyramyd.

It's an excellent scope for the money....

  • @98snakeeater Alright, cool. Thanks man

  • i found the scope, pretty hard to buy it for germany, found 1 it costs (for me i pay with €) 78€, will buy it looks great

  • song please?

  • would this be a good scope for a .270 winchester? also how far does the parallax go to?

  • would you suggest this for a 22lr 10/22? we saw center point sopes at walmart couldnt tell if they were crap or alright stuff. also being made for air guns we were affraid of losing zero wen used for hunting with our 10/22 22lr. how hard of a hit would have to bump a rifle and scope to make it lose zero i wonder

  • @golfer15963

Yes, this scope would be perfect for a 10/22

The ones at Wal-Mart are usually the 40mm variety and although they're still quite a good scope for the money, you're better off spending a little more for a 50mm version.

The Adventure Class scopes are rated for springer rifles, which are harder on scopes than any Magnum powered rifle due to it's 2-way recoil.

I've actually dropped mine a few times and it stll held zero fine, so I wouldn't worry about it.

  • @golfer15963 I have some 3-9x32AO illuminated mildot reticle scopes for sale if you're interested.

  • 30 yards? and 100 yard with a pelet gun? i do 100 on a quarter........ but then again i have a scout also...

  • can u make vid how to use mil dots please?

  • @HATTAXX

I don't really use the Mils since I zero all of my shots using a click chart.

It would also be difficult for me to make a proper Mil Dot video without a solid tripod and a steady hand...

  • is it .177 or .22?

  • @omnia12345

    .177

  • what did you use to estimate the clicks when you adjusted it?

  • @sirpaidalot3

    STP (Simple Trajectory Program)

  • whats the best class for a crosman air gun break barrel im thinking about getting this scope but just not sure right now i have a 3-9 32mm. scope on my storm xt and it gets outa sight really easy sooo give me some sugestions

  • Very informational and useful video. Whats the music?

  • @SirPsychoRHCP

    Whitewash (Buckethead)

  • @98snakeeater Thanks. By the way, over all what do you think of this scope? I'm planning on buying it for my air rifle, or do you have any other suggestions?

  • @SirPsychoRHCP

It's a great scope for the money, but if you have the means, I'd suggest going with a Power Class instead of the Adventure class.

The PC has sharper optics and a glass etched reticle that doesn't give you tube glare when illuminated.

  • i fixed it. haha. then went out and got a squrriel. the scope is amazing and i must say thanks for the help!

  • where the trigger is that screw in the back the one that wont un screw it gets unscrewed and the hole thing falls apart

  • @HondaRidercrf150r

So you're saying it just comes loose or are the threads stripped?

    Are you using Locktite?

  • i just shot an egg at 37 yards :P love the scope!

  • got the scope, thanks for the help! but i got A problem with my gamo gun now.... when i go to cock it like the back end of the gun comes up. i tighten all my screws and about 1000 more shots form it it does it again...think it is just cuz i shoot it alot? or the screws are striped?

  • @HondaRidercrf150r

What do you mean the "back end of the gun"?

Are you referring to the stock?

  • Love this scope, have it on a 17HMR and a 7mm-08, i was shooting flower stems with at 20 yards with the .17 and the center Point

  • love this scope just plinking at 50 yards today using the first mildot.

  • i want that scope...

  • oh okay, its my 1st scope you see lol but i kinda understand. the hawke scope ive ordered has the MAP reticle. so ill have to read the instructions :P cheers anyway

  • ah, i see :) the scope i ordered has an ao so is that what ill have to do if i wanted to shoot 100 yards? even if its zeroed for 20?

  • It's not that simple.

The AO only adjusts for paralax and actually has little to do with zero'ing.

It basically allows you to adjust the objective lens to give you a sharper image based on the given target range.

You still need to make click adjustments to zero in on your target.

Going from a 20 yard zero to a 100 yard zero can mean upwards of 110+ clicks depending on your rifle and ammo.

If you don't want to waste time adjusting, you can use MilDots if you have them.

  • haha, your dogs a dude ;) and by the way, what did you do to the scope to quick zero for the 100 yard shot?

  • I just adjusted the elevation based on my MOA chart.

I have one printed for each pellet type in a laminated flip book.

  • I just bought this same scope for my benjamin 397. I had to order some special rail mount because the benjamin has no dovetails. Can't wait till the mount comes.

  • i bought the 2-7x32 omfg best scope ever good combo with my crosman quest with to many mods to list great vid tho!!

  • Absolutely great combo I couldn't be more pleased with mine! Great video by the way.

  • Can this scope focus at 10 yards.

  • It sure can.

In fact, when sighting in my scopes, I start at only 10ft. and move up from there.

  • @Teamwolf7777 it focuses down to 5 yards.

  • can this scope zeroin at 10 to 15 yerds?

  • How well is this scope holding on to it's Zero for just basic use? Are you having to readjust it at all form the recoil or is it staying on target? I've been looking for a good optic for my air rifle (Gamo Big Cat 1200). I have a great red dot on there now, but I would like a more long range scope as well.

  • It holds zero without issue.

Even after dropping it a few times, it still hold perfectly.

  • Do you know the price point on this optic, you got it for free just thought you might know. Thanks

  • Sorry, I don't know the current street price.

    Try Pyramydair

  • @Springr1911 I think it is around 60 -70 dollars.

  • Thank you sir:)

  • how would you rate the scope on a rate of 1 to 10. 10 being the best as far as simplicity, quality, etc

  • I'd give it an 8

  • Nice Vid man. I say this with experience, I believe that Centerpoint Scopes are easily the best for their price on the planet...From a guy who owns a Leupold VX-II 3X9X40 & 2 Nikon's and 1 Simmons, I wish I had discovered Centerpoints back when...I own 4 now, 1 4-16X40, a rimfire 3-9X32 & 2 Quickaim Redots 1 X34's... Didn't spend a $100 on any, and they are better than my $185 Simmons or Nikon's...not quite a Leupold, but, the one you are using might just change my mind...Again, nice vid...

  • if youll do me a favor and tell me how many clicks your says to adjust at 100 yards with crosman pointed pellets .thanks

  • Adjust from what zero setting?

Also, what is the average chrony numbers for your rifle using those pellets?

There are a few more items needed for it to make an accurate calculation.

  • my software suggests 18 yards zero setting my average chrony on my normal whisper is 900fps so go with that. its weird my whisper vh shoot average 960 fps with these and both whisper have same powerplany thats odd.

  • OK, here are some numbers I used for your calculation: Scope Height = 2 inches Muzzle Velocity = 900fps Clicks Per Revolution = 60 Pellet Weight = 7.9g Zero Setting = 18 yards Click adjustment to 100 yards = 67 Impact Velocity = 546fps Flight Path (arc) = 17.451" Total Drop = 30.769" Flight Time = 0.43 sec. Those are some rough numbers as you still need the correct Pellet Weight, Diameter and B.C.
  • alright that is pretty close to what mine says. and hey you ought to do an accuracy test with your gamo whisper at the 100yd mark.

  • what software did you say you use? i use " Hawke the ultimate pellet software" i would like to try the one you use to see which is better

  • STP (Simple Trajectory Program)

    Download it at airgunsDOTnet

  • hmmmm ok i try it ....from the scope i cant see anything changes specially the elevation level is that normal till u take a shots?

  • You won't see any visiual difference when looking through the eyepiece.

The only change will be in the point of impact.

  • heck of a shot

  • Dear sir would appreciate if you could tell me at timeline 4.19 turning knob what is used for? I keep trying and trying my unit it seems don't do any different ....:)

  • It changes the elevation angle.

What kinda scope are you using?

  • Comment removed

  • Nothing will change with your field of view, if that's what you're saying....

The change will be a difference in point of impact...

Try taking a few 50 yard shots with your target at center reticle....

Then make a large adjustment (say two revs) and try taking the same shots again with the target at center reticle....

Your shots will either be higher or lower than before the adjustment...

  • So how do you think it would perform with the .17 HMR?

  • that would work great i'm sure. but check the parallax adjustment. sometimes the parallax adjustment on Center Points is too short for firearms. like their 4-16x40 scope, i use it on an airgun, but i don't see much use for a firearm because the maximum for the parallax adjustment is 100 yards. i don't assume firearm shooters would find much use of that. but i'll bet this scope has good parallax adjustment.

  • Well, for a .22, you really aren't trying to hit much over 100 yards. Just not enough power.

  • you might want to recheck the scope. i have the 4-16x40 and the parallax is adjustable from 5 yds. to infinity. i us mine on a 300 win mag. it has plenty of parallax adjustment for a high powered rifle.

  • hmm... i just assumed that because infinity is really not infinity. my old scope that was supposedly for airguns (PCP airguns) had parallax adjustment from 7.5 yards to infinity but before it got to infinity, it went out to 300 yards on the adjuster thing (which was a piece of crap) but i assumed that if the readings go from 100 yards straight to infinity, then infinity on that scope must be shorter than the supposed infinity on my old scope. that didn't make any sense, but i think you're right

  • wow, you sure got that sighted in good!

  • pac man why u do it

  • cool dog

  • where can i download that software?

  • airgunsDOTnet

  • I have the same gamo whisper, i would like to know how to remove the rear sight. pleasee help!

  • Remove the Phillips head screw and yank it off

  • where do you get the software i have a 3-9x32 mildot but i dont know how many clicks to do

  • go to airgunsDOTnet and click on Software & Downloads (STP)

  • I bought a Center Point 3-9x32 a couple weeks ago and mounted it to my crossman and I have to say it is freaking amazing. They make a wonderful product. Nice video and nice dog.

  • I don't have an air rifle, but I do have a .22Magnum bolt action, and I love her.

  • I got one its in 3-9x32mm

  • ive got the same thing in 40mm

  • my firend told me mil-dots are better than the plain crosshair. its that actully true or just his opinion?

  • This is true if you actually use the MilDots, however, I prefer a fineline crosshair as I take all my shots from center reticle...

  • My scope came with a cheat card explaining tactical mil-dot range estimating, but it appears the inch to meter conversions are incorrect. My sources show 1"=.0254m so 79" should = 2.007m but the Center Point chart shows 79"=1.829m

So very strange. Do you happen to have the cheat card and a reasonable guess to the discrepancy?

  • Mine came with a card, but I never used it..

I just printed out an MOA chart for each rifle and ammo type...

  • That program you used, i've download it. How this works? I've changed the pellet i want, weigh, velocity... Where it appers how many clicks we have to hange in the scope... Could you help me. My English isn't the best, I'm Portuguese, But i made my best. Nice vids!!!!

  • can you telll me what that red dot was

  • It's an NcStar laser sight w/pressure switch...

I used it to illuminate each target before shooting (as mentioned @ 1:30)

  • Hey Hope im not bothering u, do you think the rings that came with the gun will work w/ that scope? Thanks for the help, sorry for the "20" questions just excited to get this thing zeroed in.....

  • No problem, and yes, the stock Gamo 1" rings will fit the CP scope (that's what I'm using)

  • Do you mind telling me what exact model you have

  • 3-9x50mm Adventure Class (A/O, R/G Illumination, Zero Locking Turrets)

  • Would you mind sending me a link to buy the scope you are using please. The one that came with my whisper sucks . .THanks man

  • centerpointopticsDOTcom

  • what kind of laser is that ?

  • NcStar w/pressure switch...

    Dirt cheap, but works great!!

pita to zero, but once it's set, it holds great

  • I always lol when I hear about hollowpoints on air rifles.

  • Ótimo vídeo , só faltou mostrar mais de perto o agrupamento dos chumbos ao 100 yards.

    Qual a arma?

  • Thanx

I'll get more long range grouping footage in my next video....

    It's a Gamo Whisper (.177)

  • Is that a laser I see on all the targets, before you shoot?

  • Yes, it's a laser...

It's zero'd @ 25 always, but I used it to show which target I was about to shoot at (I say this around 1:35)

  • aiight

  • Hey 98snakeeater...Can u please tell me what was that software called?

    Thanks :)

  • STP (Simple Trajectory Program)

You can download it at airgunsDOTnet

  • Great man!

    Thanks for helping :)

  • well put together video

  • ok i have a bit of a dilema my gun which is very similar to yours, a gamo varmint hunter, and i went out and bought a scope and mounts to fit it and the gun wont adjust far enough to actually sight it in it is very frustrating because i had it mounted on the same gun and it worked fine then when it broke i exchanged it and now it doesnt work with the new one do you know what to do the gun is shooting too high and the scope cant compensate for the hight

  • Which scope did you get?

There has been a bad batch of CP and Leapers 40mm scopes in circulation for some time now that have the same results...

  • it is a cp 4x16 and i have had it for a while do you think it would be the scope... it all makes sence now when i put it on my first gun i had had that gun for a while and it had lost so much power and the pellet would drop like crazy and with my new one it has all the power so maybe the scope never did workproperly... do you think there is any way to get my money back that thing was expensive and all it is good for is a club

  • If it's a 40mm scope, then it's very possible that it's part of the bad batch...

The lack of adjustment would mean having to shim the rear of the scope to get within standard adjustable range...

Contact CenterPoint and they'll be glad to swap it out for you as they've done so for many with the same problem...

  • thanks for the advice i looked at it and it is a 40mm i am going to email them and see if i cant get a new one or do you think that walmarts supply would have been gone through by now i could just exchange it there

  • dude your dog is totally chill lol anyways just wondering what softwear you said and i figured your air rifle is a bolt action type and not a brake barrel like mine. is the bolt action type better or are they the same

  • his gun is a break barrel and the only bolt action ones that are worth getting are pcp powered and cost over $400

  • The Whisper is a Break Barrel rfle...

A good bolt action PCP will give you more accuracy and stay consistent as you don't have to move the rifle away for every shot, but the good ones don't come cheap and the cheap ones don't come good....

  • can u some how email me that chart of yours?

  • Hey is it necessary to adjust the elevation turret if you just adjust the parallax?

  • heya bud i was just wandering im hoping to get an r700 aitgun maself but thers merely one problem, i dont understand anything about mil dot and calculating all the stuff to get the shot first time, u give me any tips plz? id love to know it all properly like, windage, distance n clicks n up a click right a clcick ugh its confusin lol but any help u can provide would be great thanks bud ;)

  • There's waaaay too much info to type out here lol

Your best bet is to go to PyramydairDOTcom and checkout their scope installation guide...

From there, print out a proper MOA chart for your ammo/rife combination and just head out to the range, setting markers at multiple distances...

It's not sumthin that can be learned overnight, so just fire off a few thousand rounds and keep track of each one...

  • hey 98snakeeater what laser sight (laser pointer) is it and where did u get it?

  • NcStar barrelclamp with pressure swich...

Got it from EBay (see my laser install vid)

  • great video!thanks for posting!bought one of these scopes last night for a 17 hmr.havent tried yet,but price/features wre incredible.have looked thru alot of scopes lately, this one is comparable to one 3x the price.

  • Hey, try this scope on a deer hunting rifle. I have 2 of the same exact scope because they are nice. 70 bucks at wally world. I have on scope on my .223 M4 Carbine, and another on my 30-.06 Remington 700. So far, on both weapons the scope have performed flawlessly, except when i dropped it about 3 feet on to the floor, oops. On the .06 though, the one i have i can shoot a 3 round fist sized shot group at 300m. I have also taken out bottle caps at that range.

  • about how much would this scope go for? and how many fps is ur gun. would it matter if it dosent go that fast as in the fps. because i have a crosmanstorm xt and i need a new scope what would u reccomend. thank you

  • where did u get that laser to mount on the barrel like that

  • hey thank you very much for the program but i have one question. in the program what is "clicks/moa", "clicks/revolution", and "ols bushnell elite turrent"?

  • bro im gonna buy a gamo whisper VH but I hear that the recoil pin of the scope damages the rail. Do you have this same problem or you just take out the pin?

  • The reason why the stop pin damages the rail is because it requires a couple drops of threadlocker to stay in place...

Without it, the pin tends to back out over time..

  • thanks men but I dont know what is threadloker and were do I buy it?

  • another thing you have this problem or you are asuming? anyway thanks its always good to fing another airgun collector that could help you

  • When I first got the rifle, I noticed a bit of scope creep about 100 shots after I installed the scope..

The stop pin had backed out even though I tightened it as much as I could...

After that, I put a few drops of blue locktite on the pin and it's been solid eversince...

It's actually common knowledge among the Gamo crowd...

  • threadlocker is just a fluid that hardens up and prevent metal to metal fasteners from moving due to vibration...

Any decent hardware store, hobby shop or automotive parts supplier will have it...

Look for "Blue Locktite" as it's removable (Red is permanent)

  • Nice song...Whitewash

    Buckethead rulez!!!

  • 1 of the simplest ways is to keep your scope set at 25yd, and then set it for something like 40yd, then 50 yd, ect. As you change from 25yd to what ever count your clicks and write them down on paper....ergo...40yds would be lets say 27clicks up, and 4 clicks left. Bingo now you should be set up for 40yds. All this will take time and work on your part. This is a sure fire method, and still used in US military. Know Your Tool!

  • fuckin awsome

  • im sooo confused on how you like calculate how many clicks u turn to estimate or change for a 100 yrd shot 50 yd etc.. my crosman phantom is set at 25 yards now and i dont take anything down unless its within range can sm 1 help me understand how to adjust leverage and winidage etc

  • Hey FYI for ya, I went and picked up the Viper. It came with what I would think is a decent scope. But I'm still after the CP since I seen your vid. Gotta tell ya...If ya get a chance to check one out try it! I compared the Whisper to the Viper, and they both looked nice, but I opted for the Steel barrel. I'm diggin the heavy weight to it. Wife likes it, so thats a plus ;)

  • hey Rick, Did you use the same scope mount that came with the gun? I might go later today and get the same set up, so thats why I'm asking. Wish me luck.

  • Yes, I used the original riser block and mounting rings (the Center Point scope does not come with them)

  • one more thing... Could you tell me whats playing in the background..(music)? What ever it is I like it.

  • Whitewash by Buckethead

  • I gotta tell ya man, your vidoe's have convinced me enough to go out and pick up a Gamo gun. They all seem to have the same power plant, so I guess it's not that big of a deal which model I get. Although I'm kinda after the Whisper, or the Hunter series. While I'm at it I might even check out a Center point scope now...lol. Keep the vid.'s coming.

  • Glad you like the vids...

Good luck with your new rifle, whatever it is...

  • could you tell me the software you have to calcuate pellet drop andtraectory, please

  • STP (Simple Trajectory Program)

Download it for FREE @ airgunsDOTnet

  • question: how can i lighten the trigger pull with the one i alreay have? i c a small flat head screw but i dont know wi=hich way to turn it to lighten it up. help

  • The adjustment screw on the stock trigger does nothing to "lighten" pull because the blade still retains the same geometry no matter how you slice it...

All it does is increase (clockwise) or decrease (counter-clock) the length of the second stage...

Honestly, I wouldn't waste time with it as the GRT-3 is far superior in every way...

  • oh thank you 4 the quick lesson. i know where to buy this GRT-3 Trigger but on how to install it...yea i can figure it out if there were instructions.

  • Hey Rick,

Is this the Caldwell "ZERO MAX" rest your using? Would you say it's more than sufficient for an air rifle? It's pretty affordable at $40. Thanks. Steve
