  • I drive and used to show at it; and was in this exact same scenario before where a horse ended up getting severely injured. It's scary as hell and near impossible to make split decisions. For the unexpected situation they found themselves in, the people in the arena acted as calmly as possible and tried to control the damage.

How many of you people calling them all 'idiots' have actually been in a driving class that went awry like this?

    That's what I thought. Shush.

  • Sooo Stupid to walk into the front of a horse with eyeshutters on, and in total panic. Because the horse doesn't see much, so It wont go out of your way...Just try to calm it with the voice and the should have screamed that much...Incredible...

  • THEY SHOULD HAVE CHECKED!!! They should have checked the arena thoroughly. This is the state championships, no some backyard show. This is strictly the planners fault. No matter what else happened after the horse got stung, it is STILL THEIR FAULT!!! I would have SUED THEIR ASSES for every penny they had. Sorry for the rant, but I am PISSED that they did that and put these horses in danger.

  • IDIOTS!!! Seriously, FRIGGING IDIOTS!!!! I went to a fox-hunt before, no foxes involved, just following a scented trails. I was with the slower group and we decided to turn back because there might be bees on the trails. They SHOULDN'T HAVE had it held in a bee hive area. If a horse is stung, yes, they will go nuts. They will bolt, they might even buck. It's dangerous under saddle itself to do it in a bee hive area. And don't say: "Oh, well... They didn't know."

  • nazi horses

  • Fucking idiots!

  • Ok...first of all the breed has nothing to do with it and second of all its pretty stupid how these ass holes handled this situation in the first place...!! People need to grow up and quit blamming the horses for everything....and the pers OK n who sai "and this is why i have quarter horses " i hope one day your horse starts to act like this...and then one day youll relize its not the breed....i have 8 Arabians and none of them do this because im not a stupid person....

  • Keep the horses on the out side...

  • I got so worried I even wanted to cry when I saw that horse fall on his mouth to the ground wow I was amazed he survived . Animals r like humans they get afraid n scared but don't know how to practice it the way we do

  • anddd this is why I have quarter horses.

  • i thought paul was cdead

  • the second horse that went crazy it wasent its fault it was the horse that hit him that made him run like that.horses have this thing called a flyte zone if they are scared there first instinct in to run and get away from it and find some where safe and if you dny no what your talking about. dnt even bother commenting KKingstoneRR

  • kill the horse ill kill you you freak. have you ever thought maybe its not allways the horses fault maybe its the person driving.

  • mad horse i like

  • kill the horse

  • It's Pleasure Driving not buggy riding

  • It wasn't the bees. It was the horse getting tired of being your bitch.

  • You right...but personally after my near brush with death on my horse (fall and resulting concussion) I like to wear a helmet. I also puked several times....and I don't even drink alcohol so can avoid puking at all costs. My horse was sold due the collage "curse"..but now I ride a motorcycle. I wear full gloves, chaps, SNELL& DOT approved helmet, and armored jacket (with military approved reflective vest).

But I also have a sticker on my bike that reads

Dying of natural caused is for wimps!

  • @TheHorseRider01

Your right! If the horses head had not been jerked to the side like that (distraction) the first impact might not have happened.

Ironically horses actually see better to the sides of their heads, they are blind directly in front of their noses, and right behind their tail.

  • i would have shot it with a dart or a gun

  • Lol

  • 'I thought Bob was dead. I really thought that was the end of Bob.

  • @theslydude how do you think that's funny? Quoting someone like that? This was a terrible situation and all you can do is make a joke out of it? That's wrong.

  • As a former horse person....I could soooo see how this could happen.

Sometimes I wonder how people survived horseback riding w/o the modern invention of helmet and other safety gear.

Heck I fell off my horse w/o a helmet and don't remember 2 hours. I got lectured by a doctor and 3 nurses after work who had horses too...left to buy helmets for themselves after seeing my bump and concussion on my head.

Plus after 2 weeks.. I got back on my horse. With a Helmet!

  • @equarg Helmets dont help if the horse falls/steps on your chest, back or neck.

  • @obliviouschaos

No...but there are special armored vests you can wear to protect your chest and back while horse back riding. They are commonly worn in eventing/ jumping competitions.

You should also wear proper foot gear. Once a branch knocked me off my horse and I fell off. My horse sensed me falling off and from a canter did a dead stop, and a 180 turn, and her front hoof landed right on my left ankle. She weights 1500 pounds. My heavy duty boots saved my ankle!

  • @equarg While I know you are trying to be safe. I just kind of laughed picturing someone going riding with a helmet, armored vest and heavy duty riding boots on. My husband works for a Maximum Security Prison in Texas and he doesn't even wear all that to keep himself protected from inmates. We both ride western. We don't wear helmets. Personal choice for every person. If it's your time to go in life, it's your time to go. Better to go out doing something you love vs something you dislike.

  • @obliviouschaos

I also agree...when it's your time to go...it's your time to go. BUT I will always wear the safety gear. The gear may not save my life, but it I am to only get injured, and not killed, hopefully the safety gear will minimize/ eliminate the worst of the injuries.

As for when I was knocked of my horse..I was not wearing heavy duty boots. I has a choice that day, wear my English rubber boots, or my Civil war reenactment boots. The leather heel prevented my ankle from shattering!

  • @obliviouschaos

You also said your husband works with prison inmates *shutters*. Best of luck to him mam...I would not enter a Max security prison with out by deer rifle, deer knife, mace, taser, trained attack cat...(ext. ext). I rather be attacked by a cougar while hunter, then by another human being. Animals are somewhat predictable, and if you follow the rules, you have a high chance of making it out in one piece. Humans in my humble opinion are the most dangerous animal out there!

  • @equarg Lol well he's alright in there. He works in seg where all the inmates are locked up 23hrs a day and only come out for showers or rec time, they don't leave their cell without handcuffs. He has bear mace stuff and they have snipers in guard towers at all times :) I agree with you about the animals being more predictable than humans! It's very true. One of the many reasons I love horses! You can tell so much just by their body language. Wonderful amazing animals!!

  • @obliviouschaos

Amen. Despite all my "adventures" and trip to the ER, I miss my horse. She is now retired at a ladies house where she can't be ridden due to a bad back, get gets messages weekly =). I may live in the country, but the farmer has fenced off all the possible riding areas (not my fault) more people have move in fencing off more areas, and more cars are coming up the dirt road.

"sigh". Country ain't country no more. =( I can hardly deer hunt anymore.

  • horses flying, carriages flying, grandpa flying....

  • Its All the jews fault lol :D

  • 9kizment your a bull shutting

  • I hate this shit 'Untamed' show, the commentary is ridiculous, and I just can't stand the way they need to crap on about garbage instead of just showing the clip.

  • @Kljccc that's rlly not nice u little fag

  • hahaha old stupid people

  • Awh! Poor Bob! Thats the ring master at all of my Morgan shows. D:

  • fuxxxkinggg bee....##%#@$%@^#$

  • I really thought that was the end of bob. Lol

  • This is totally overdramatised!

The people obviously don't have a clue how to deal with the situation! Running around flapping their arms at the already panicking horses is just gonna make them worse!! And the stupid crowd really annoys me, how do they think screaming and shouting is gonna make anything any better! Idiots!!

  • Just a bunch of idiots who need to learn more about horses before they put them in competitions. Not the older man, but the "trainers" that are jumping in front of the horses, then wondering why they are spooking even more & getting run over.

  • 7:07 whta happened to Terrie's horse?? they never memtioned it after 7:07

  • "A Horse and buggy competition turns DEADLY."

    Overdramatized much?

  • @MySongIsLove22 I agree, the show does overdramatize everything, but I do believe that one horse in this incident may have been put to sleep, and I also think one person ended up dying.

  • @9Kizmet No one ended up dying and the horses were standing just fine so no one needed to be euthanized

  • Oh this is just horrible. I can't even imagine this happening to my horse and me. I was crying half way through the video because I was thinking of my horse.

  • These people pretend to be animals lovers but don't really strike me as animal lovers. People who actually value animals don't put them in these fucking circus routines.

  • @Flipper79able How is this a circus routine? How do you think people got around before there were cars? This is a Driving Country Pleasure class in a horse show, not a circus.

  • A lesson for people. There are truly very few domesticated animals. This could happen any time to any horse. Why the hell do these people need to ride horses around in a buggy anyway?

  • I have shown there before!!!

  • Leave the F****** animals alone!!

  • stupid bee XD

  • i thought bob, was dead... i really thought that was the end of bob... LOL... what a dummy. should of jumped off the cart as soon as it got out of control.

  • i thought bob, was dead... i really thought that was the end of bob... LOL...

  • those aren´t arabian horses....i think trey´re hackneys

  • @Kukititoo No they're Arabians.

  • Lol! Including PAUL who's horse started it ALL and who got thrown into the WALL

  • OMG, i didn't realize that that was that guys last name. Our last names are pronounced the same but they are spelled differently. Thats crazy i was there that day, and it didn't help that they were chasing the horses waving their arms around the smart thing to do would have been to get the other horses out and just let it run it off and they would have went down so much better.

  • Please note that these horses are NOT Saddlebreds. The banner on the rail indicates that this was an Arabian or National Show Horse show at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. The people screaming are what would have made the situation get more out of hand. I have been involved with horse shows for over 3 decades, and this class had as many crashes in it (a single incident) than I have seen in the time I've been showing.

  • How are they making them sound crazy? They never blame the horses. The second horse was looking for Terrie, how is that crazy? That's noble, not crazy...looking for it's owner is crazy? They mention Arabians like once. If anybody knew horses at all they would know any breed is dangerous. I didn't get anything out of this video that made Arabians crazy

  • What happened to the horses afterwards?

Noone says.. I hope they didnt get put down..

    :(

  • Yay for the guy with the rope!

  • I worked with 22 Egyptians when I was 14, not all Arabs are small/crazy, depends on the breeding, many were docile. Some raise them to feisty, especially in halter because it makes them "look better" One of the stallions I worked with was 16.2 HH, gorgeous and he knew it-I was one of very few who could handle him because he knew I respected him for the magnificent animal he was, a few people tried to break him they wound up in the hospital. Anyway, This could have happened to anyone and any breed

  • In reply to etell1 "Why do horses do weird things" ....remember, this is a prey animal. It survives via an instinctive and instantaneous reaction to run away from anything perceived as danger.

If there were indeed bees anywhere in the arena and a horse even thought it was going to be stung, it would want to run away from the danger area. If you thought you were going to be stung, wouldn't you?

  • stupid bees! but i think they should of had a needle that makes a horse sleepy and the guy oh got trampled should of stuck i at the horse in the neck tomake him sleepy

  • @etdell1

You don't know much about horses, do you? Pretty hard to "stick a needle" in a 1000 lb horse when it's going by at 25mph.

  • @syrynus876 your right and i do know allto about horses but i find it weird that that big of a anuimal gets so scared of weird things

  • One problem is that an intra-muscular shot would have taken time to kick in; by the look of the video everything would have already been wrapped up before the shot had a chance to act. No one could have hit one of the horses with a fast-acting intravenous tranq in that environment.

  • @PintoHackney k but i swear to god i have no clue what the hell u r saying what grade r u in?

  • @etdell1 i missed most of the conversation and i understand what he is saying? would you like me to translate?

  • Guys, I ride, I show, I do almost the same stuff they do here. This is NOT animal abuse and it is NOT mean at all.

  • @countrytuber i agree. a horse got stung and all went wild. not the peoples fault

  • some people use ginger in the horses anus - which burns and makes the horse very 'bouncy'. When I first see this horse his tail is tucked down extremely tight and it's hipline is very arched. It is obviously in pain. God knows what this asshat driver did but I bet he used something similar- or more likely worse

  • @NevadaRides the horse got stung

  • OMG!! Poor horses .. !!

  • @hazythepony it could have happened to any horse. Besides, each horse has their own personality. Some horses wouldn't go as crazy as that horse did if it got stung. Some horses would. It's not about the breed, it's about the horse's personality and if it spooks easily or not.

  • omg PAUL!!!!!!!!

you should be trying to stop if from hurting itself!!

    at least i would!

  • All very nice people who don't have a clue about horsemanship, just buy expensive bloodlines and ship em off to the trainer. Get them back, and win ribbons. But they LOVE their horses.

  • I knew this video would get put on Animal Planet! As soon as I first saw it i said, "Animal Planet will CERTAINLY want this for "Untamed and Uncut!" And these guys make Arabians sound like bad horses, they are not at all! Things just happen! Glad to hear everyone was ok though. Wow!

  • literally no one knew what they were doing...

  • I love how dramatic they make this versus the original version

  • all horses feed off of the other horses around them. i show on the quarter horse circuit, and i have never seen anything this bad happen but its always a possibility. last year at a show i saw a girl around 8 get thrown and stepped on by her quarter horse at a quarter horse show because on the track were trotters. anything can scare these animals they are wild and flight animals. also this crowd was the WORST ive ever seen when something went wrong.

  • untamed and uncut would riun this, yo uhave to watch the whole thing to know what was going on

  • in response to wrangler409. I doubt it.. Quarter HOrses don't feed off of other horse's energy as much as Arabs do. I've seen many horses being stung by bees... Never this crazy of a reaction. And even long after the initial reaction, it couldn't calm itself down and even ran someone over? The breeds energy def has something to do with this.

  • @hazythepony umm, no This could have happened to any breed

  • @hazythepony umm, no This could have happened to any breed, not all Quarter horses are bombproof FYI.

  • @hazythepony Sorry, but I disagree. You're going off of breed stereotypes. Arabians are very smart horses, yes they are high energy but they're not crazy. Being energetic doesn't mean they're out of control. I have a Quarter Horse and my friends have Arabians, I see the comparison every day. You're crazy if you think every Quarter Horse is calmer than every Arabian.

  • what an idiot

  • oh, never mind! i see the arabian in them! im still holding on to my last statement though :)

  • umm... those are saddlebreds, i think. i know how they look... either that or they could be some funky arabs. i could be wrong...

this also proves that saddleseat (driving or under saddle) is just as dangerous as jumping or reining, etc. take that jumpers :P

  • @SaddlebredAddict Yeah its probably a Half-Arab class because this is Region 12 (I think that region) Championships for arabs/half arabs/anglo arabs. (:

  • Arabians are rather tiny, they're not tanks at all. Warmbloods, THOSE are tanks.

  • Ole by the way nothing against aribans but hello the origin of that breed is hot wheater and longevity. so they are breed to go, that is why they are so animatied and high up. and yes things do happen at all times, but this whole thing was handeled wrong and bad, and to blame it on a bee. Hello we ride with horses every day and bees around so if you dont have spray and know it then dont ride

  • Humm love this hey chuck, worked on one of your park horses you runnied from chaining their front legs to get the knee animation, but we did get it to pleasure, humm wander why these horses got hot, the heavy showing, chaing front legs together to get animation all unatural. so why try to do something with a horse that is not natural made for it, you guys are nuts, and the funny thing you all know try to show like us and AQHA horses, get a clue

  • AQHA is just as bad. We put all horses in a frame. Some arabs are built upright just like quarter horses and other stock breeds are built to have level toplines. But making a comment like that is rude, how we should all show just like AQHA. AQHA is konwn for level heads and keeping their spinal colume strait and not letting any movment throught it.

  • @cowgirlleslie45 Sorry about the wrong wordage cowgirl, I didnt mean the should show like us as yes the head carriage is diffenrt and straight up what ever, get a clue, conformation and correctnees is the same in all horses duhhh. Portions are all the same and shoud be, what I was saying is that NOW in western the ARAB world is putting them in bozels for western and trying to level them out like quarters which is un correct for their build type. Now then I dont dislike arabs.

  • t makes me so mad how the stereo type an Arabian for being crazy :(

  • @treasure04029 these are morgans

  • @rippasofinosammy - No, they're Arabians.

  • @treasure04029 the problem is so many dont relize that an arab originates from a hot climent and over time and breed to go long distinces at high rates and not where out. so many take it for crazy. same as saddel breeds and gatied horses are breed to have more spunk tothem. My breed of choice is quarters, but never siad I thinktheir crazy or have never worked on them and or trined some. actaully at a huge open show in a 500 dollar pleasure class I used the arab for first over all the quarters,

  • @wpph1 VERY true, that is why they are so great for endurance, one of my Ararbs can go for 20+ miles competitively and he's so happy doing it! Same with saddlebreds-yes, they are bred to be very high-headed. And goof for you about the show. :)

  • Like I said on the other site of this class, everyone was so lucky that it wasn't a lot worse, everyone kept their cool fairly well for the situation, the last horse when she (looked like a mare) lost the blinders is what kept it going. I've shown arabians for 30 years and never seen anything like it, it could have happened anywhere to anyone and any breed, no one was at fault, and am so thankful it was not worse, oh and sir? your not too old! don't retire! that's the joy of driving!

  • This can happen to any horse, in any situation. I, thankfully, was able to ride out a bucking and rearing episode on my horse when she stepped on a nest of ground bees during a trail ride. I'm glad humans and horses weren't badly hurt.

  • wow they put this on untamed and uncut??

  • Terrie I LOVE your horse! He is sooooooo pretty. I remember watching the original video on Youtube a long time ago and now that the "behind the scenes" story is out, it's even a better story. It's a shame it had to happen. Could've happened to anyone (and ANY breed of horse!!!) Oh one more thing... Whooohoo for saddleseat horses to make it on TV!! Glad all Horses & People recovered well.

  • I want to meet PAUL and Terri! They both sound like such inspiring awesome people! Accidents happen when you work with animals...u learn from them and move on.

  • I saw the video for the first time and i was amazed!!! I know Uncle Bob and the judges judging that show i was surprised!! wow...

  • Joyce, May you Rest In Peace. You Were an Amazing women!

  • ok, Arabians are tanks, why in the hell would you stand in front of a galloping one?!

  • they are not untaimed! they are scared..

  • incredible no humans and no horses were killed or hurt really bad. i hope that never happens to me O.o

  • i was there and it wasnt that bad in person people were jst overreating

  • and this is why you dont use arabs for anything to do with pleasure and things that are ment to be calm

  • @welshsecrets When ANY horse gets stung by a bee - good luck controlling them then.

  • @baylee93 yeah we used to have a two horse trailer and my horse was stung by a wasp and she drug it about 20 feet

  • @baylee93 i have ridden a horse which was stung by 8 wasps in a 16 acre field and all she did was rear a few times, she didnt set the other 16 horse off which were on the hack, they all figited a little but nothing much, and they were all welsh or Tb types

  • @welshsecrets This can happen to every horse. Not just arabs

  • @Alishondra I totaly agree There was a QH Driving at a recent show and he was out of controll to.

  • @welshsecrets i own 12 arabians and all of them r clam ,i also one 3 welsh ponies who r hot tempered . so that could hav happened to any horse.

  • @3dayeventer101 i own a Welsh too i and know she isnt calm but i aslo know a lot of arabs and none arew very calm, i have also ridden a horse when she was stung under the saddle by 8 wasps and she reared nothing else and the other horse only figited nothing much

  • @welshsecrets Excuse me? You should see the speed that we use for western on Arabs. My friend's Arab was laying down in his stall and my trainer's assistant's chihuahua came up to to the horse and laid down with it. The horse just laid there and did nothing. Any horse could have friken gone crazy. The Arabian is the most versatile breed of horse. Deal with it. Get your facts right before you talk shit about other breeds you don't know a fuckin thing about.

  • wow paul STILL shows too! he showed at the buckeye sweepstakes show last weekend and he's still going strong!

  • "I thought that was the end of Bob". I laughed a bit.

    But this accident(s) are horrible!!

  • Haha, "I thought Bob was done." I don't know why, but it's just sounds silly. Of course, the only reason it's funny is because he was okay and well, it was kind of a stupid move on his part. But regardless...

  • it makes me so sad when the horse falls on its harness

  • i love how they make him out to be pure evil in horse form. :snort: he was terrified, dragging a cart, and had blinkers on so he couldn't see. what the heck do you expect? honestly, that wasn't handled well at all. why would you step in front of a bolting horse? they were scaring him more with all that screaming and running after him.

btw, i know the girl who now owns that horse and he's a sweety, nowhere near the crazy Arabian they make him out to be.

  • Gosh they sure make Arabians sound crazy don't they. :/ It could have happened to a Quarter Horse driving class just as easily.

  • @wrangler409 ya your right because me and my cousin have quarter horse thank god shes did git hert but se freaked out and bucked so hi she did a sumer solt we couldbt bleave sh didnt break her neck

  • @wrangler409 these are morgans

  • @rippasofinosammy - No they're not... Actually watch the video or do some research. At 2:58 in this video - "But there's no stopping an ARABIAN at full gallop." At 4:03 in this video - "...an ARABIAN horse is out of control." Chuck Siemon, who is interviewed in this video, is an Arabian trainer.

  • @wrangler409 yep, I noticed this after watching it. Before I had only watched the non-animal planet version and had identified them as Morgans. I guess that's what I get for only attending state fair at the fairgrounds and never seeing the arabs in harness!

  • @rippasofinosammy i belive it is half-arabian so there could be arabians that are crossed with morgans. Arabians and half arabians never compeat in the same classes.

  • @rippasofinosammy Its pretty sad if you cant tell the difference between a morgan and an Arabian. These are clearly Arabians, the large Arabian horse show banner should be a big enough hint. Arabs do come in larger builds just so you know.

  • @cuzzerskippy Would you take a look at my videos? Does it look like I deal with arabians OR morgans very much?

    No, not at all.

I was just basing it off of classes that I have seen in that exact show ring, and I had never seen arabians shown driving there, and I show there every single year, twice a year, so I was confused. Excuse me for the mistake.

  • @rippasofinosammy They're most definately Arabians. Half Arabs to be exact.

  • @wrangler409 Koda can do that and he acts like a thuroghbred when he is 100% quarter horse

  • @wrangler409 they werent basing it off arabians. its just a fact that arabians galloping at full speed are unstoppable. and all the horses there were arabians. theres no way you could stop a quarter horse or any horse for that matter but they said arabians because it was specifically an arabian driving class.

  • @wrangler409 not arabs :P hackney or standardbred

  • @5Bijou5 YES, it is Arabs. lol. Actually pay attention to the video... They are Arabians.

  • @wrangler409 while arabians aren't crazy, its actually been proven that arabians get more energy as they run while other breeds get tired. so the more panicked they are, the longer and faster they can go.

  • It's pretty funny to me how they mutilated the original cut....

  • @ridingisasport Totally agree

They act like the horse was going after the people and wanted to hurt themselves and others. The idiot that got hit stepped in front of a spooking, scared to death, horse. What did he THINK was going to happen?

  • @Temporary433 I agree... I mean, the horse was wearing BLINDERS!! what did he expect? And the bit about the disabled woman is just pointless human interest.

  • And now that I've watched the full video, most of the horse-on-horse collisions could have been avoided. Watch as the people grab his line, steer him off path, and cause him to run into other horses and carts.

  • I completely agree with CallMeEmm. I have seen FAR more accidents involved with stock breeds than with saddle-type horses. No one breed is better than the other; all have their different ups and downs. If you were being stung by bees, you'd flip out too.

  • any breed could have done that. not just arabians. i own one and he is nothing like that.

  • You know what, fuck you.
