Wow, this surprise strategy would've made it waaaay easier for me! I didn't use Temper at all, only healings, and I stood fairly close to the boss when it's spitting icicles. I used all my MP on healing and had to be lucky to hit back all icicles and avoid getting hit. When it was about to spit the icicles, I stopped hitting it so it could get massive damage from them (and not get into that invincible mode). Other than that, I did the same.

Thanks man. But I think the real hero here is you, if you beat him on epic without this strategy :)

I stopped hanging by the mouth because of the randomness of the icicles. Even with a katana, if you get unlucky timing one will get by, and that's like half your life gone.

I tried to do this during testing, but I figured it would be too hard for anyone to bother with.

It can take a bit of practice, admittedly. But with heals you got a lot of tries to get it right in one fight. I beat this guy once with a lot of mistakes, but the recording had the wrong settings. Once you get it down, though, it kind of sticks. Thanks, though!
