  • Why do some people have to be so nasty - I thought you did a fabulous job of interpreting the song - well done and thanks for posting - I love Adam's voice!

  • My ex wife said this was the song she heard in her head when I left her 17 years ago....It haunts me now, as it should...

  • What a great song! Found this while searching for something else and I'm glad I did

  • @Tda7000 If you like this song and are unfamiliar with the Counting Crows I urge you to check out all their songs especially the album "August and Everything After" which is quite possibly my favorite of all time.

  • i know every word to this song and i can play it on piano

  • never liked this song very much, but this time it touched me particularly...made me think of the past...beautiful and very nostalgic!...thanks for posting! :)

  • you get what you pay 4 my life story in a song

  • Real Music.

  • It's raining here in Red Deer and I need a phone call.

    I miss you.

  • "and baby you can hear the freight train, if you listen real hard,"

  • i liked it!!!!

  • I sort of hate this song...lol. It's on a 'mix' CD that was in my car player a few weeks ago and yes, I pretty much skipped over it after hearing it once for the 1st time in a long time.

  • "i can always hear the freight train baby if i listen real hard,"

  • "these trained conversations are passing me by anD i ain't got nothing to say,"

  • Couting Crow. LMAO

  • when it skips on his voice sounds like he is having a stroke

  • I wish it was a small world <3

  • very nice pictures!!! And of course the song is amazing, as we've known for 17 years now!!!

  • There's Not a More Honest Band Around Today!!!

  • I take it that there is no real video of this out there just slide shows what a shame.

  • this montage is beautiful and perfect for the song..all those moments i enjoyed while listening to this song

  • ... i love it so much

  • this is a sad song...or it just make me sad...i just think to the girl i love, she likes the rain but she is far now, so i get sad...

  • This was really nice! You didn't go for the cheesy obvious like a photo of a phone or airplane or raincoat over and over again, classy black and white pics, very artistic and good feeling thruout, nicely done!

  • Good song and a good video you put together. This song takes me back to a time in my life that the words to this really meant alot to me.

  • great song, awesome pictures. really : )

  • amazing song...love it.the best

  • It`s so beautiful <3

  • love your video thx

  • Skips..

  • Thanks for this........

  • such hopeful images for such a hopeless song i like it

  • Why the hell would you put a song on youtube that skips like this? You suck dude.

  • @EyeSawRed yes, yes i do

  • @RennieChew Horribly... how could you own this song with it skipping? The album needs to be put in a perfect little taxi box and put it in the ground by a tree in a field. THEN you need to buy it's little brother (new cd) and stop torturing yourself with a song that will destroy your soul if it skips.

  • @EyeSawRed

After a year, do people ponder and look back at why they were such a raging dbag?

  • i like rain.

  • That skipping is REALLY fucking annoying. Way to ruin a great song.

  • sad songs are so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So beautiful. I could listen to this song over and over again. August and Everything After is one of my very favorite albums. Lovely.

  • This is beuatiful....

  • I believe Adam once said this was just a melancholy song he wrote about feeling alone during his years in San Fran, LA, and UC. And he looked up the weather in his hometown on the other side of the country. Lovely song, regardless of the meaning when written though. But I'm from Baltimore and I had to mention it, lol.

  • 3:52 beautiful beautiful photo ...Lots of great photos.. beautiful song

  • Great video to go with a great song...shame it stutters a few times in the middle (like at 2 mins 38 secs into it - and a couple more times elsewhere in it).

  • sweet song....i play this on my ibanez acoustic all the time...thank you for the vid....Brian......

  • hey where did you find this amazing pics?

  • Beautiful, just like you John John

  • Why does this song make me so sad? I've never even been to Baltimore...

    :)

  • Maybe Baltimore, on a rainy day, is like this feels. Maybe it just was that day?

  • It was sort of a rhetorical question. Hence the :)

  • @unrulyrascal - because its a sad song

  • This song is lovely.

  • forgot how good this song was great band thanks for putting it on

  • i only have one word for this song

    BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • good song

  • spelled counting wrong in video

  • hence why i then put oops spelt it wrong by the side of it...

  • @RennieChew - yeah and then you spelled SPELLED wrong (spelt). moron.

  • @pillarsofserpents haha didn't even notice

  • @RennieChew Spelt/Spelled Learnt/Learned Different versions of English. Both are correct.

  • except he didn't spell it wrong, it was a typo. there's a difference. good catch pointing out the obvious, though.

  • So what?

  • I like it. The video is beautiful, but the skipping really takes away from it :(

  • is there an official video by the counting crows to accompany this song? THIS SONG IS AMAZING! the imagery it conjures up.

  • I favorited this; I love this song and the video you put together is so nice.

  • thankyou =) glad you liked it

  • i usually don't like it when adam just sits down at his piano and decides to write a song that makes you feel like cutting yourself, but i enjoy this one

  • you know an album is great when every track is written to complement the pictures both good and bad stored in your heart..

  • one of the very few albums / songs that you stop to listen to. (you know what i mean)

    a true masterpiece.

  • Nothing better than listening to this song in your car on a nice sunny day (oxymoron) with the windows down. You don't get that feeling anymore from songs these days.

  • thx 4 the vid! love the song and you added nice pics. greetz from germany :o)

  • Nice pictures. Rain can be a beautiful thing.

  • I loved this song when I bought this cd when it was first released, I had no idea this song would be so applicable to my own life these days. Life, huh? You just never know...

  • Exactly! There was so much on this album, that when it came out, I had no idea what it would all mean...

  • I still listen to this song at least once a week. I guess I just need a hug. Thanks for the tip on the vid.

  • One of my favourite songs

  • Counting Crows is amazing..

  • I actually don't think he lives 3,500 miles away from what he is missing. I think it feels like 3,500 miles, from what has happened.

He is only 50 miles away from Baltimore, he says he misses it there, and he keeps referencing their mutual weather.

  • Nice. ^_^

Haha, I just spent a /long/ time making a video for this song, so I keep expecting what I made to come up!

    ^_^"

  • it skips! :(

  • sorry about that i only noticed it when i uploaded the song to youtube and im too lazy to redo it lol

  • great tune! good vid,.. thankx! ;)

  • I also live in Baltimore and i would never want to move from here. Its amazing here, theres a sense of insanity and tranquility at the same time. If you ever get the chance to visit here, DO.

  • Isn't Baltimore just awesome? I don't live here (I live about 25 minutes away) but I go every chance I can (: All the cool stuff happens there.

But this song is amazing <3

  • @codemaster232 I live in Baltimore too, born and raised . I agree lol Baltimore is awesome. I tell everyone I know in different states to come here at least once in their lives...maybe even twice :)

  • @20sk8tergirl Baltimore looks very rough based on a number of TV shows I've seen like The Wire, although I'm sure there are good parts too.Greats song though.

  • wow this is the most talented band I´ve ever had the great luck to listen to.I´m stunned.

  • this tune is for me mate Kieran

  • very very sad song yet lovly. odd...he meaning he needs to get out of the mental hospital very sad place in there me and my dad have been in there not a very happy place...safty glass for windows...and straight jackets if you act up...like i said sad...SAD =(

  • must be horrible in there :S id never want to visit

  • I live in Baltimore and I love a man who lives 3,500 miles away...just like the song says. He can't come here and I can't go there:

"Three thousand five hundred miles away,

But what would you change if you could?"

  • my fav song ever
