good job! we are playing that same song right now for our spring concert. our band got straight 1's and surperior for UIL. neways... somethings could be fix such as clarinets. i am a clarinet player myself so make sure not a single person is dragging on those eight notes. remember: light tongue. dont slap your tongue to ur reed. can be tricky but its possible. and be louder. could barely hear that part at all. percussion.....shhhh....i hear u guys the most out of the whole band. bt overall. good
That guy on the block thing(forgot the instrument's name) was terrible in my opinion. He was pounding on it ike know one would care that it sounded terrible. I also hear no dynamics. Just my opinion. Otherwise it was decent.
see our band is playing this song... we have 13 people... i play drums and i got to do 7 things.... this band piece thats on the video is about 140 beats a min... we do ours 180 ... so its alot faster.... and we got a lot more dynamics... but i love it
@frost0649 this probly would have been a lot better if we had more time but we put this together in 1 and a half days for a middle school honor band so thats why its not faster
agh, in my band we played this, I'm 4th chair flute XD; the flute part took a long time to practice and get right, but like, once you've got it you've got it
The name of this piece actually comes from the way Dr. Eric Hammer, director of bands at University of the Pacific, signs all of his letters. Instead of a "Sincerely" or whatever, he'd write "Onward!".
Just thought I'd toss that tidbit of info out there.
its the long string of a's or b's on the clarinet thats the murderer...it hurts so much, but if you get into the meaning of the song, its pretty...noble and all that lord of the rings crap.
im an 8th grade tuba player and my band and i went to a comp. with that and some other song called starship-john o'reilly.we got all 1's so yea i know it sounds like im bragging so ill stop now,but my point is my band directors said this is a high school piece and well if thats true then yall did pretty well :)there was a bit of rushing with the clarinets and the trumpets messed up a few high notes a little and the brass got kinda quiet a little before the coda but other than that it was great!
Yeah we are playing that in my schools honor band this year. I am in 7th grade and have only played the oboe for 1 1/2 years so its quite challenging.
I'm going to play this in two days at Honor Band! It sounds fun. Great job!

This was the only decent song we had ever played in my band.
I guess maybe it's because it's the only one the PIC ever picked out that had a flute part that wasn't totally boring.

that is so cool :D I love the flute part.
French Horns have a really cool part.
