  • Timothy Treadwell is the John Audubon of our recent times. So well said. Avoid any person who didn't earn or wants to emblaze any item that cost the lives of others (being it animal or a slave person). Sound advice wether you believe or not.

  • LOL this guy sounds like family guy pedo guy xD hahahahhaha

  • :) :( a great man and a great life.

  • @Astharot90

No, he wasn't a great man. He lied to fund his trips and has been linked to the death of at least 9 of the bear that he interacted with. He was a very sick man who was a danger to the bear that he was claiming to help. You only have to do a small amount of research to fing out the man that Treadwell was.

  • @thegirl44 That's from your point of view, not mine. Normal people like you, everyday contribute to kill ALL the animal\plants life on this earth, not just 9 bears (like YOU said, not for me, not in that way). And at least he act with real love and he found the wild side of life...and more. But I don't pretend that you understand me...reading what you said I think that you will never undertand things like those, go eat your meal and don't spit on mans like him, please. Are you better than him?

  • @Astharot90

I've spent 10 years contributing to a biological study about the devastation that Tim Treadwell did to the bear population that he claimed to be protecting. He was feeding the bear, so after he died 3 of them hibernation starved. He removed their fear of man so 4 approached hunters and were shot. He lied to people to get them to donate funds to his excursions.

I act responsibly around the animals that I study and protect and I don't lie, come to your own conclusion who's better.

  • @thegirl44 For me him, I think he is a great man not for what he did whit the bears (i love animals but bears are not my favorite, i dont' care actively about them), i think he is a great man because he live "that" kind of life, like Thoreau or McCandless.

Maybe he makes some mistakes, but if bears die the REAL problem are bears hunters, is not his fault, think about that.

You love dogs, but there aren't dogs hunters, so there is no problem.

And you probably can't understand the wild view.

  • @Astharot90

Thoreau had his mother and sisters waiting on him hand and foot when he wrote Walden.

Bear hunting is not a problem, it's an evil that we've created that sadly, must happen in order for the remaining bear to prosper. We are the only consistant predatory animal left on this continent. Treadwell is directly responsible for removing th fear of man from the bear that approached the hunters and he is responsible for making the bear that winter starved reliant upon him for food.

  • @Astharot90

    Con't

Saying that he is a good man for living life as he wanted at the expense of the bear in Alaska is akin to excusing someone harming a child while in the process of living their life on their own terms.

The bear had no way to protect themselves against the habits that he instilled in them for his own selfish gain. This is not admirable, it's sick.

  • @CheddarBob39 You're a dick. Timothy and his Girlfriend were there of their own volition fully aware of the risks and never hurt anyone but themselves. Douche.

  • Comment removed

  • I really wish this man would have chosen to watch over foxes instead... They really seemed to love him and then it might not have ended so sadly. I don't blame Timothy neither the bear. Timothy was just very troubled and the bear... who knows why it did it.. but it is for sure that animals doesn't do harm to be evil

  • I AGEE

  • Thanks Timmy for protecting animals that don't need protected. A true hero

  • the fox looks annoyed as hell

  • The man had a good heart but lets face it he was a bit special as in neeeds.

  • lmao....only Timmy is the Boss of aaallll foxes and aaalll bears XD

  • Ths guy is a total moron, he wants to save the animals from hunters so he pets them all instead, getting them used to human contact. I am glad he got chowed up, he more than deserved it.. Thats what happens when you poke mother nature with a stick...

  • Hmmmmm, Smoke weed and watch bears? Sounds good with me :)

    Atleast he was happy

  • Why is everybody making fun of this guy? yea hes weird but he died doing what he loved to do, which is the only way he probably would want to go

  • the bond between this moron and that beautiful fox was because he was feeding it. That there is one stupid man, and I for one am glad he has been removed from the gene pool.

  • Testify, Oobster!

  • @TheOobster What a nice thing to say

  • i agree w/ the oobster. when I see someone either deliberately or thru total ignorance and for the benefit of ego doing something harmful towards wildlife, this guy was reckless and foolish. I have worked with foxes in rehabs, those that were raised by humans - the way they are following him and nipping at his fingers and toes in these videos are all the behaviors they show when food seeking. He was feeding them, and that is how he got this "endearing" footage

  • ok, this dude was a good man, he proved that some animals can be tammed and befriended and some cant

grizzly bears are too unpredictable, i think he even knew that idc why he would want to live near them, u can tell in all his footage he never truely befriended ANY grizzly bear

just lived by them. then one was starving and desperate and ate him...

    RIP

  • If your dog got hungry enough it would eat you, matt.

    Animals are animals.

  • yeah and humans ARE animals aswell well dumb fuck, so what gives yuo the right to say one has less reason to be alive? you cheese :P

  • @P3nfighter

Dude, you seriously need to learn to read. You can't even glean a small amount of information from a 14 word sentence.

  • @thegirl44 okay (Y)

  • @thegirl44 i do apologise for my enitire ignorance of mind..i should just shoot myself then rot into the ground whilst being eaten by ravenging felines, and licked by hairy men, then i will meet the DEVIL where he will give me praise and thanks for eternity for ridding the world of my stupid self. :D

  • @P3nfighter

Having a good day are we, P3nfighter?

  • @thegirl44 ever heard of empathy by crystal casltes or little man by atmosphere?

  • @P3nfighter

I've heard the Atmosphere song, I even sing it to one of my animals sometimes, I'll give the other a listen but I think that I know where you're going with this :).

  • @madmattdisease92 "He" proved that some animals can be tamed??? Sorry, but our distant caveman ancestors proved that one a looooonnnnggg time ago when they tossed bones to the wolves. Maybe his heart was in the right place, but he was stupid and foolish, and felt he was better than the rest of us because HE could commune with these dangerous creatures and walk away unharmed - but, he only went to Alaska during the safest time of year to be around bears - when they are not as hungry.

  • @TheOobster i was just saying that i was touched when he became friends with the foxes

    so stfu u faggot

  • hmm, what does stfu mean? probably something not very nice I am thinking. I cant be a faggot, BTW.

I am also touched by humans bonding w/ animals, but I've seem enuff to know that those foxes will be more likely to be killed by humans because they now have no fear. Normal foxes see us & run and hide, but because of tim, they see us as food source, and if someone is not well meaning, the fox is dead. Especially in areas, as treadwell claims - or claimed -(ha ha) that r so full of poachers.

  • His friendship with the fox is so moving. I get a little choked up watching it to be honest. Bonds between humans and animals are a beautiful thing. It really is.

  • @Jyett get yourself a bag of kitty treats, go into the woods and find a fox den full of little foxes, and you too can have this moving friendship. At least until the kitty treats run out, at which point those cute little critters may bite off a few of your fingers.

  • FAG

  • Though I admit his practices were unconventional... I believe Tim Treadwell was a great man. Was he screwed up in the head? I dont know nor do i care. The love he has for this earth and for the creatures of it shows that there are still those who are working to save what we have left. Whether it attributed to his death or not is unrelated. He lived a life that many of us can only dream of. He is the definition of eco warrior and the impact he made will never die. of that i am confident

  • The impact that he made will most certainly die when the last of the bear that he fucked with die.

He devastated an entire community of bear through his selfishness. Ecoterrorists are too stupid to understand the difference between helping and harming an animal, as your comment fully proves.

  • im just saying he was a good funny, but weird man,

he was risking his life stupidly and yea u can argue he is selfish

and ur a fucking idiot if u think my dog would eat me if it was hungry enough

theres no fucking way lmao dumbass

  • I once necropsied two dogs who's owner's death didn't get reported.

They waited about five days to see if any other human would come by with food and when no one did they dug right in.

Don't kid yourself, matt, you're nothing but a secondary food source to that dog if the primary food source that you provide disappears.

  • I love it that he speaks out for these little critters that are subjected to cruel sh*t by people, such as those that use (steel) leg-hold traps to "harvest" their fur. I'd like to see someone do the same sick sh*t to them and see how they like it!

  • Hippie loser and fool is what he was.

Did the native americans waltz around with bears and not carry any weapons with them like this clown did?

Those bears don't give a shit if you tell them you love them or you hate them. You are simply food to them.

    What a dumbass.

  • youre a hippie loser, fuckin fag....

    what a dumbass

  • uh no. I am straight and I am still alive and alot smarter than dumbass Tim Treadwell.

I think all of you Timmy lovers should go out to Tim's old stomping grounds and spend some time with those nice little bears!!!! lol

    Good luck suckers.

  • @tfcdan08

You wasted your money on the drums boy. Better keep your day job. I hear there is an opening up north for a hippie grizzly bear watcher...lol..good luck.

  • ha... yeah ok retard.....

  • I think this shows how wild animals do have emotions and can bond with humans. I respect him for all he did for wildlife conservation and his efforts to educate us about Grizzly Bears and the foxes too! how beautiful....

  • Has anyone else found his relationship with those foxes far more interesting than anything he had with those bears?

I mean he was living with foxes in much the same way people of the Paleolithic were living with wolves!

  • I have. The relationship he has with the foxes is just beautiful. Very very interesting.

  • yes i was thinking the same retrieverman1!

that fox seems like a dog :)

  • Foxes are known vectors for rabies.

  • The red fox is one of the top carrier of rabies in the U.S., but if the fox doesn't bite you then you have nothing to worry about. Then again, a red fox is a much more approachable carnivore than a Grizzly!

  • his voice really anno ys me

  • I hereby award Timothy Treadwell a Darwin Award®

  • Yea that's kind of funny, but I would rather live 5 minutes as Timothy treadwell who actually had the courage of his convictions, than be some pointless ballbag working in an office etc.

  • Re: Soma874

What..the last 5 min. where his frightened girlfriend is beating the attacking grizzly over the head with a frying pan and shit for brains is getting his throat torn out?

  • Yea YakAV8R, even that 5 minutes. The guy did something out of the ordinary and he knew the possible consequences but still went ahead. Most people just like to talk big about doing things but he walked the walk, I have respect for that.

  • I'm pretty sure there's more than just a handful of wildlife biologist out there that do this type of behavioral survey work.

The difference is that they actually respect the object of their studies. Even the native Alaskans thought that Treadwell disrespected the spirit of the Grizzly. When people who have co-existed with these animals for 1000's of years tell you to rethink the wisdom of your actions and you ignore them, you're an idiot. I'm sure he was filled with regret in the last minutes

  • Yeah, but we had brighter futures than the other species. We were meant to live in houses, watch T.V, and ride cars. It`s called evolving and I think we probably got to our highest point if the rumor about 2012 doesn`t happen, than other animals might evolve too. it`s going to take alot of years though.

  • They say that Treadwell was bi-polar but I say he was most likely bi-polar bear

  • That`s how natrue is. He should`ve just hung with his own kind. We live in houses, cook, watch t.v not eat whatever we can find in the wild. We`re not meant for that and anyways, humans and bears are pretty much the jerkiest species. humans skin animals for fun (not me) and bears kill anyone just to get what they want and doesn`t even eat them.

  • sorry to tell u yeah we were meant for the wild there were no houses and tvs when people were made to this earth. everything we needed was already here.if we could not make it we would not even of came about.

  • aw that fox is cyute XD

  • Rest in peace.

  • Treadwell broke and scoffed his nose at practically ever rule park rangers had in place to protect the bears from humans. He ignorantly refused to use electric fences and bear spray, while camping directly in the middle of a well traveled bear trail after the salmon run. Thanks to his "protection" two bears and a brainwashed women were needlessly killed.

  • 0:28 0: 30 This guy got some great footage. Rest in peace, my brother to the bear. We who love you know your truth.

  • classicallady R.I.P.Timothy you certainly had all the guts that unfortunately lack in millions...!

Actually Timothy was a deeply psychologically disturbed individual who was seeking fame. Yeah he had guts, that's what fed the bear. He did more harm than good and this was proved in his death. After he was killed two bears had to be killed as a result.

  • Hah, you guys are a bunch of fuckin wackos I tell you what

  • *sniffle sniffle* I love you...Timmy... *sniffle sob sob*

  • he said the bears loved him too and look what happened lol

  • Well...he knew the bears could turn on him, and he definately knew the risk. He just had a different view of living with bears from us.

  • R.I.P Timothy you certainly had all the guts that unfortunately lack in millions...!

  • a very misguided man, but a great soul.

some good and some bad came from his life and work, like all of us.

  • the fox is soooooo adorable !!!

  • Shut up you fucker!

  • R.i.p Treadwell...<3 There are few who die doing what they love.

  • search on youtube for: Kevin Richardson and lions.

now let's call all these men crazy

and people who would risk there life with dangerous sports only for a adrenaline rush are cool or what?

  • The risk Tim was taking is just the same with driving in traffic every day. If you drive like a mad man it don't take long before you are death. How many people buy a motorbike and even didn't get 2 seasons? The fact that proffecials can drive fast is because they have experience, but sometimes it also goes wrong for them. With the 12 seasons i think Tim did great,he just had the same disaster like that proff. driver. But why doesn't people beat the racecar when it happens, but shoot the animal

  • don't foget people, animals have always been there, traffic is made by humans. The guy who shot the bear knew it was already too late to rescue Tim, but he shot the bear. I understand that it made him angry because the bear was eating his friend. The only solution it brought to shoot the bear was to get Tim out of the bear into little pieces. So why doesn't people beat material stuff when it goes wrong?

  • thanx Timmy, you showed the world you are not affraid of these animals. Most people who camp in nature do it with a gun. If a bear appears they will shoot it because they are affraid of them and want to sleep good at night. So people just kill them because they want to camp in there territory. Lot's of animal are being more aggresive because of this. How would you feel if your mom got killed because she was walking in somebody's way? Lot's of people think a dangerous animal has no feelings.

  • a lot of people here who have bad comments on Timothy, i'll bet you'lle be screaming at yo mama after one night in the wild without any gun or knife, so respect for Timothy

  • Jesus is he wearing his under wear a bit too tight ffs....

  • he is crazy and you people cant see that he was puting all ov us in danger by geting that close to animals you dont want wild animals to be comtherbal around people you want them to be afrade ther are bears that he has encounterd still out ther now thay are a biger threat. exuse my spelling

  • Flip all of you that post bad comments about this good-hearted man. He didn't deserve his death. He healed from drug overdoses from animals. All you mean people, go try to do what Timothy did. See what happens. The thing is, sometimes people have strong connections with animals and it's unexplainable. On the other hand, Timothy just ran into the wrong bear at the wrong time. He was honored. I respect his work.

  • It's nice to see a human being and a wild animal share a bond as observed here..instead of man killing 4 sport ....This world would be a better place with more Tim Treadwell's no doubt......thnx Tim

  • I don't know about the world being a better place but we would definitely have alot of plump satisfied grizzlies.

  • Timothy starts to sound weird when his voice gets high, I kinda wish I can have a bond with a wild fox, but he deserves to have this with him.

    - we will miss you Grizzly Man

  • What's really sad is that there was a report in 2004, by Paul Watson, captain of the Steve Irwin on Whale wars, that said FOUR GRIZZLIES were slaughtered by poachers, claws removed, galbladders taken, and pelts torn up. They're giving a 5,000 dollar reward of ANY INFORMATION! PLUS! ALASKA WILDERNESS ACT: 10,000!!!! The bears were killed in a protected area....so that's illegal.

  • The same Watson who faked getting shot by a Japanese whaler, a whaler the pirate ship S.S. Shit Shepherd was actively trying to ram/board. Please, that lying frauds report means nothing.

when you mock the expertise and knowledge of park rangers, break park rules and regulations, camp directly in the middle of a well traveled bear trail in late Oct when food is scarce, refuse to use electric fences or bear spray, and ultimately responsible for 2 bear deaths, you get exactly what u deserve

  • Oh...yeah...you go and try to do what he did for THIRTEEN YEARS WITHOUT WEAPONS! F**** OFF YOU MOTHERF****IN LOSER

It was his choice to take that risk. Shut up and go rape yourself

  • sorry bleeding heart, unlike that delusional twit you worship I don't have a death wish. Because of his ignorant choice two bears and a woman are dead, and hundreds of bears have been habituated to humans. Nothing Fraudwell ever did protected bears.

  • wharffratt, you need to get a life buddy, now think you can turn people against the sea shepherd? you are nothing but a Joke, please get a life of any kind and leave people alone, i know you will reply, because you have nothing elese to do, im sorry i wont reply back, Unlike you I Do have a Real Life!

  • Actually this guy DID feed the foxes, whether he believed in or not. Otherwise, they would not have been all that interested in him. Common sense. I am sure the guy thought he was doing the right thing for the animals, but all he did was acclimate them to human presence. That is the WORST thing you can do to wildlife.

  • There is no proof. I've read his book, watched everything that needs to be watched of him, and even spoke to his friend, Jewel Palovak. One thing thats on his site: A FED ANIMAL IS A DEAD ONE. I know the truth.

  • timothy treadwell was a true inspiration..R.I.P. Tim..you will forever be with the bears

  • Not forever. Just until the he passes through them!

  • Timmy needed some help, he was a sad person. I'm not trying to be rude but he really did need to be helped out. He really should not of been around wild bears the way he was. I'm sure the bear that killed him was acting like any bear in the wild.

  • he was such a beautiful and romantic human being, that's why people hate him, because he was a GOOD man, he had a beautiful soul and he loved animals more than himself . people don't understand this but i do . i respect him so much, he's my personal hero.

  • Oh my gosh....Finally someone that agrees with me! I love this man so much; it was very tragic he died. I think people just hate him because he was famous and they were jealous, and also your reasons. He was such a great person, and he knew he was taking such a great risk. Thank you for your kind words and lovely opinion! I'm so glad someone has some sense and a heart. Nobody around youtube has so much respect for this guy!

  • Timothy Treadwell was a great person he did acted a little weird touching that bear droppings but he was still a great person. People say horrible things about Steve Irwin as well. He was a professional. Rest in peace to both of them. May there memories live on for ever.

  • rest in peace Timothy Treadwell.

  • This video makes me want to cry...Timmy the Fox is such a beautiful animal and he and Timothy had such an incredible bond. Thanks, Timmy.

  • animals are increduble and the way they bond is amazing timmy treadwell is incredible and all he wants is the killing to stop of these animals!!!

  • That fox is a sweetheart.

  • Even tho he sounds like a girl...

I find it great that he was able to form a bond with the fox...I gives a damn of societys psychological evaluation, and their assumption on how a fox follows humans because it wants food...It was still great to see him and foxes run together like they was a pack of their own, and see them accept him like their own. I gives a fuck about the bears involved, but the fox and human bonding is significant in my perception.

    R.I.P Treadwell

  • Ok, this guy is dead so ill show him some respect. but in all honesty he couldnt b that bright. Bears eat meet, so by instinct when they become hungry they will kill. Now i understand what he was trying to do and its sad what happened to the man, and he surly didnt deserve to die.

    but TIMMY THE FOX RULZ!

  • I think he is doing the right thing. May he and his girlfriend rest in peace. I thnk he is a hero. To go in the wild with these very pretty animals and try to stop the round thing that people do. He is a hero.

  • Tim you're the best ! You're the greatest man. Peace for you :(

  • Don't you realize that the guy is just crazy and that he created this idea in his head. He believes that he es protecting them. Of course he is not. He doesn't know anything about animals.

  • Oh...yeah...you go and try to do what he did for THIRTEEN YEARS WITHOUT WEAPONS! F**** OFF YOU MOTHERF****IN LOSER

  • I know, I know !

That's stupid to live with wild animals, but Tim protected bears and if you want to protect animals, that's important to attract people's attention...

    If he didn't do that...

But he did that ;) And we must respect him.

(PS : I'm sorry if my english is bad but I'm french :s)

  • onlyoneak, calm down please. People will listen to your reason and like you quite a bit better if you speak to them like a civilized human being instead of a rabid wolf.

  • I believe Tim was a great man as well.

  • This man was obviously completely out of control. How then is it that we all pretend that he was responsible for his actions? How could he be if he wasn't in control of himself. He was like rabid dog that was unable to control it's impulses and ends up attacking someone. He was sick. Maybe someone should have stepped in and taken action positive action early on, who knows, but the most useless thing to do is to blame an out of control person for their actions.

  • danlan...typical liberal nitwit...blame society for one of it's member's idiocy...

treadwell was an amateur with a large ego...he got himself and another killed, playin' marlin perkins wannabe...

go feed a homeless bum, you single digit IQ whackjob...

  • treadwell was a fool...like joy adamson and diane fosse... animals were created to be eaten, made clothing and ash trays of...not to be 'studied'...

what a silly video...what a clown treadwell was...

  • have some fucking respect man, he was just doing what he loved and animals created to be made into "clothing" and "ashtrays"... that is by far the stupidest fucking thing i have ever heard.

  • animals were indeed placed here to be eaten and made clothing and ashtrays of...they have no rights, per se......

do you support abortion rights?...just curious...

    treadwell was a fool...and now he's a dead one...

  • You are a serious redneck, I mean serious.

  • redneck, madam?...for keeping animals in proper perspective?...come come now...

and just where do you stand on the premeditated murder of preborn humans, hmmm?...

I await your predictable, shallow, immoral answer...:)

  • What does abortion have to do with any of this? HMMM, bears, Timothy Treadwell, animal rights????? Nope, nothing to do with abortion, idiot.

  • mama....merely contrasting the views of you twisted libs when it comes to people vs. animals...animals have rights...unborn humans do not...clear it up any?

  • He exploited the bear for his own personal benefit to gain notoriety and fame. He disregarded scientific experts, broke laws, and broke park regulations. Nothing he did protected the bears, who were never in danger from poaching in the first place. As evidence by no video of photographic documentation from Treadwell's 13 years in the park. You would think he would want to turn these alleged "poachers" in to the authorities.

  • did you just spend all day writing a bullshit paragraph, just so you can post it on every grizzly man scene. people didnt put these videos up to listen to your ignorant fucking opinion. GET A LIFE.

  • Treadwell living with bears, habituating them to a human presence, providing no evidence of poachers, providing no credible research to science, and getting two bears and his girlfriend killed was the ultimate disrespect to the bear, and a true exercise in ignorance.

  • he was just doing what he loved and what essentially saved his life from substance abuse. in all of his thirteen summers he never harmed anyone or effected any bears until the end, where he even stated he would die for the bears. why are you even going to every scene on youtube if you feel that way. you are pathetic, get a fucking life you worthless piece of shit.

  • so you admit yourself that his presence harmed the bears...you fucking hypocrite. Nothing that clown did ever helped protect or further scientific research of grizzly. Hiter loved eradicating a group of people based on their religious identity, does that make him right? Fuck no you idiot.

  • "I never said his presence harmed the bears in anyway"

"in all of his thirteen summers he never harmed anyone or effected any bears until the end"

Your words not mine you fucking liar. I have zero respect for some self promoting delusional nitwit who accumulated bears to humans, that were never in danger in the first place. His protection culminated in the death of two bears and a woman. FACT!

  • Two bears are dead as a direct result of his presence and ignorance dumbass.

  • timothy treadwell was funny

  • What a bunch of boneheads you all are. GrizzlyMan is a hoax movie and you totally fell for it.

  • I replied, but it doesn't look like it got posted. Here's a shorter response: I think it was part of Nat. Geographics "hunter and the Hunted" series. And don't trust newspaper media off the internet. Go to a University research Library if avail. good luck to you.

  • Hey Wharffratt, who abused you, your mom or your dad? You appear to hate Timothy Treadwell but yet you keep coming back to prove you are a dumb fuck. I think you like Timothy much more then your willing to admitt. If I was the only person on planet earth to do what Timothy did, I would be jelous of myself also... GET LOST!!

  • He's not special and certainly no hero. "If I was the only person on planet earth to do what Timothy did, I would be jelous of myself also" Fraudwell was not the first and im sure the last to be mauled and eaten by a bear, so no he's not unique in that aspect either. Two bears and a woman are dead because of his "protection". That is a fact.

  • I'm not a bear expert. Name 1 person who lived and touched wild grizzly bears for 13 years without a gun and lived to tell about it, other then Timothy Treadwell. Trained bears do not count.

  • Charlie russell,Vitaly Nikolayenko,Lynn Rodgers. Those are what I can name from the top of my head. There are plenty others. While the methods he used for his research so far as interaction with the bears as opposed to sepratisim are controversal, it isn't new or even unusual. The key difference is the obvious anthromorphy which developed, and the INCREASING risky behavior.Researchers get close, but still cautious and respectful of the harm to themselves, the bears, and to the type of research.

  • Vitaly Nikolayenko spent 33 years living with and doing CREDIBLE research on bears, unlike treadwell who was intrusive and harassing to the bear. Not coincidentally, he was mauled and eaten by a bear. 20 bears he interacted with become easy targets for poachers and had been killed by the time of his death. Living with wild bears really pays off....PFFFT!!!!!

  • Nikolayenko was killed, not consumed. My mistake--sorry. I posted earlier that he was. Some Early reports in the media stated that he was. It was a defensive attack resulting from his complacency. Living with wild bears WISELY actually HAS paid off for more credible, and respected researchers. Even though controversial.

  • Almost every report I have read said that half of his body had been consumed.

  • Like I said, some of the early media reports were saying that, but I think that was an early assumption. There was a very interesting documentary recently about the investigation. It was a defensive attack, not predatory.

  • Yes, he likely surprised a sleeping bear and was attacked, but articles Ive read as recently as last year have all reported his body had been partially consumed. Whats the name of the documentary? Id be very interested in seeing it.

  • Just to note: This was in the Katchacha(sp?) in Russia, where poaching is a widespread problem--Not in a US park. Same thing happened to Russell farther south in the early spring of 2003. They used his cabin. I think Treadwell modeled after these guys, and rationized his actions with their experiences. After a while, he may have even come to believe himself.

The poachers used Helicopters, but yes, habituating to humans is harmful.

  • Tim was great, what great footage he took over the years.

  • wharffratt, you are a jealous waste of breath,if you are going to be stupid and spred lies about things you dont know about then do it elesewhere.

  • why would I be jealous of a dead man who died because he did everything you shouldnt do while interacting with wild bears? Please, Im begging you, show how anything Ive said below is not the absolute truth. Ill be waiting for your response.
