It is a shame that other media outlets don't do the digging required to actualyl hold people's feet to the fire about the integrity of what they report. I guess if you don't do the backgroud work then you CAN report hundreds of stories a day in Iraq. Perhaps the AP ought to think of QUALITY over QUANTITY.
I've gotta say, I don't usually agree with Michelle but with this, you guys did an awsome job. This must be why you guys went there, to get the real story and you did just that. But you did pose a good question: How many faulty stories are making the nightly news. I guess we should question what is reported by the media from now on. Seriously, good work.
There are several things wrong with journalists on the ground. Some say they're on the ground but never leave their office, some go out to look for a specific agenda, some are lazy, some are just plain dumb, and others get bad information.
AP is just a collection of stories, the stories are only as credible as the reporter reporting it.
Did we all forget the photoshoped pictures of Lebanon Bombings on the front pages of newspapers?!
