  • Alot of Mohawk Indians were hired because they were supposedly not scared of heights.

  • 1:23 I would shit my pants if I was one of them

  • @theunrealbro4939 i wouldnt even wanna rest there if i was offered 2 million dollars im right with you shitting my pants XD

  • is that woody guthrie ,,the song?

  • yes mohawks topped off the esb

  • There were 5 fatalities during construction of the ESB.

  • @dstamand Holy, only 5 fatalities?!? These guys are real hero!

  • 1:23 The builders were crazy...

  • Most of the workers not 'American' at all but European - Irish, Polish, German, Italian and so on... except for the Native American Mohawk workers.

  • Cool video and I like the song too.

  • You have all these sports people and actors and other so-called "entertainers" earning enough to feed a country and these guys risking their lives and probably got paid very little. Respect.

  • Must be the most crappy job in the world. I respect them,

  • NICE VID, i ENJOYED IT

  • talk about balls!

  • Omg how many people must of died? From falling or cables snapping! Id be shitty all over the place up there

  • @brieman2 Believe it or not, only one worker died during construction on the Empire State Building, and that person committed suicide because he had been laid off from construction on the building. So you might say that technically nobody died. They were just that good :)

  • @zipthepinhead Increadible!

  • America was 50 years ahead of other 1st world countries in 1930

  • this kind of stuff made america #1 long before atom bombs and all that jazz

  • The lunch time picture is actually from the construction of the GE building

  • finally a video without a dislike

  • I'm workin on a casket, I'm workin on a casket...

  • @asinglespeck LMFAO.

  • Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for the upload!

  • @sorryipwnu69 Wow that's a good number, even by building the WTC over 60 people died!

  • more safety = more years to complete a building

less safety = lesser years to complete a building

  • If I was a preacher I'll tell you what I would do...lol

  • i believe 5 workers died during the construction

  • What's really amazing is that they completed the ESB in only 14 months. No wonder fat cats are so opposed to safety in the workplace-it takes years and years to complete a skyscraper when you care about safety.

  • Great vid.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • NICE MUSIC!

    THESE GUYS WERE FEARLESS!

  • Like the music. :)

  • "lunch atop a skyscraper" is from GE building...

  • Mein Kurtzvortrag für die schule ;) peace Tom Lukas Ianis und die anderen

  • many of the builders were finnish

  • What is the matter with you?? This is a public site where people are entitled to their opinions whether right or wrong, but there's no excuse for derogatory and hateful remarks. You"re just making yourself look ridiculous with comments like that.

  • Those guys were truly amazing. The sad thing is they had to work in those conditions to get decent pay, if they didn`t do it there were thousands of other men with hungry families who`d risk thier lives.

The advances in health and safety have saved countless lives. It`s got to the point, though when you need a working at height permit and a risk assesment to go up a step ladder.

It`s all about the management covering thier arses, so they can`t be sued if you don`t follow safety procedures.

  • Sum of ur pics wer taken on the Rock... should ave done ur research

  • Great great pics, but you couldnt have picked more shitty or stupid music! What a great way to ruin a cool video.....

  • @bobbya16

    go fuck yourself

    it's great music faggot

  • Look at the condition of those guys. There's more fat in one modern lard-ass family than there was on that whole site.

As to the safety issues pointed out in the film (a typical contemporary viewpoint in my opinion)... people back then had PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. They were aware of their surroundings, and didn't rely on management "systems" to look after them (which just serve to make people stop concentrating).

Sure, there've been advances, such as ear defenders, but 80% is bull.

  • I.m very impress how those guys worked up there, at the time they go up, and they leave their fear on the ground.

  • sO Nice video+music :D

  • Now I see where the ESB got its aura of fear and doom from. It absorbed it from these workers so they wouldn't have to worry. Believe me, it sucked up enough to last centuries!

  • Terrifying

  • And then you get people complaining that a day at the office is tough. Those guys made America awesome. Respect.

  • @abumpinthenight2 To be fair, these men did not only made America great, they made the world great considering this sort of construction was done across the globe back then.

  • Theres only one word to describe those men. Heroes.

  • @mojochessclassics damn right....

  • 1:28 man thats scary!!

  • @kamikazeboy123 what this just made me realize my job is EASY

  • any idea where i could get a copy of the first picture

  • good
