I left out two Otto interceptions, which I think would have really highlighted the difference. The passing game back then was very ugly and tended to consist of just throwing the ball up in the air while on the move. But otherwise, yeah, plenty of similarities.

Yep that's what amazed me too. Even the screen play looks just like what we see now.

I think the equipment changes, helmets and extra pads, have added to the ferocity of collision-style tackling.

I'm an Ohio State fan, but I enjoyed this. It amazes me that aside from the shifts and all the guys in the backfield, it doesn't look that much different...
