Mi pregunta es ¿Puede su versión se instalará como la original Ubuntu dentro de XP como un software sin tener que Formato al igual que el original Ubuntu 8,04? Gracias por tu tiempo! Adios
Hey man! This si very nice demonstration! By the way, i'm about to install Ubuntu original (but won't format my system, i will install it just like a software as it is possible now) and then i find that there is Ubuntu Studio. In the Ubuntu Studio website, in the download page, it says: Ubuntu 8.04 just like the original one. I was wondering why your demonstration says Ubuntu 8.10? Where can i find this version?
Thanx for responding and no problem, glad that by writing to you made you see the error about the version you've posted. So my question to you was, CAN your version be installed like the original Ubuntu inside XP like a software without having to Format? Any confirmation is welcome. Thanx again!
You can download a program called "Wubi". Look it up on Google. It is a Windows program and it installs Ubuntu (or Kubuntu or Xubuntu, whichever you choose) on your computer. You don't have to reformat or anything. It will automatically add Ubuntu as an option before Windows comes up. To uninstall, just run Windows and go to the Ubuntu folder and open the uninstall program. Simple!
P.S. This doesn't work very well on a Vista computer. Try using XP.

OK, I'm an idiot but if I have a very old Ubuntu installed on my pc, can I still get this? BTW what are the minimum specs required? Will 3.2 Ghz(single) & 512 MB RAM work(It IS an old pc)?
Of course you can, Ubuntu Studio is just another "flavour" of Ubuntu (actually you can simply install the meta-package ubuntustudio-desktop and you'll end up with all the u.studio stuff on your desktop). If you're only interested in having the same look, you can also install the visual theme only (Ubuntu Studio works on a peculiar low latency kernel for professional audio editing, you may not need it) and be sure to install compiz-fusion for the 3d eyecandy. Your pc should work perfectly with it
it's not a Ubuntu Studio 7.10?
