I agree 100%. What's even worse is when people add music to a video and it drowns out stuff I want to hear. I'll give an example: I like mechanical stuff. If I click on a video featuring an antique 2 cylinder tractor pulling a weight sled, and I hear crappy music instead of the sound of the tractor, I am not going to watch the video, and I will also give it thumbs down.
In my country almost all music videos on youtube are blocked because companys decided to do so. Heck, some companys even block their content from getting played on the local radio. If companys would be more open with their music it would make it easier for them to get their stuff seen (or heard in this case)
You know, I agree with you on some points. Sure you shouldn't use someone elses music without their permission, but I also think that the record companys will make more profit when they allow others to use the music in their videos (as long as they put the song they used in the description using a itunes link or somethig like that)
I think most record companys don't realise that blocking their songs on youtube will only make it harder for them to get noticed.
I think this video was made as a hint to me lol. The only thing I hate is when YouTube flags a gameplay video because it had in game audio in it

@Possumlivingdotcom Yes car videos are worse for music over ambient sounds then computer videos.

If you buy a cd put it on your computer, use that mp3 it'll still get you for copyright..So don't just assume everybody torrents man.

@TrashmanKegs This is true and I wasn't assuming everyone torrents I just see a lot who do. I personally do not and if you do not them that is great.

The answer to the question on your shirt is 3.
I agree. All my music I use is from a co-workers band. But I'm still waiting for someone to say I can't use it.
LOL, that last statement was priceless.
