  • Oh please! A Cadillac will never compare with a BMW in terms of what really matters and that's the driving experience. I test drove both the CTS and the 535i and the BMW was more intuitive to drive. The Cadillac still felt like an old person's car, just one with a more powerful engine.

  • why do they compare the cts with the 3 series and c class merc..but the cts-v with m5 shudnt they compare it with m3 n c63 amg? anyways this caddy is the fastest four door around nurburgring it can handle!!!!!!!!!!!! goes straight like a missle and comfy well done cadillaccccc keep it coming

  • @izzle90 Its about the engine and price in how they compare to other competitors. They compare the CTS-V with a bmw m5 because of its engine. The LSA engine in the cts-v is just too powerful to compare it with an m3. The price of the cts-v is also more expensive than an m3. The 335i is compared to the cts 3.6, but performance wise, the 335i outperformes the cts by far. Its turbo charged Inline 6 is soo good that with just a chip mod, the 335i competes with m3's.!

  • if i was to get a crossover id get lexus rx but for sedan CADDY baby!

  • no its cause you cant afford it lool.... you havent driven a german car

  • @DeltaAirlinesFlyer oh man your 17 and gettong a CADILLAC? your sooooo cool!!!

  • @DeltaAirlinesFlyer Prove it.

  • @MrMikeyboy1002 I dont have it anymore...I have a BMW X3 now

  • i love cadillac but audi is better :)

  • @rickysafranek, I disagree. I can't even fit inside an A4, and the A6 would be great but the steering wheel won't go up high enough where I can actually sit in it comfortably or possibly drive one. Room wasn't an issue, but that one rather large problem.

  • One of my dream cars....

  • whats the diff between the CTS AND STS?

  • The STS is larger, more luxurious and a bit more expensive as well.

Since they redid the CTS in 08 (and left the STS the same more or less) the interior, or at least parts of the interior are nicer on the CTS except that incredibly cheap plastic metal dash panel that so many car manufacturers are using these days, which rings of cheapness.

  • man the OLDER cts 2003 04 05

ugliest dash i have ever seen

  • If you think it's remotely close to the ugliest dash look at just about any cars from the 90's.

  • my god

  • I love the new CTS. Its so good. Its one of those cars that look better in person, so you have to see it to believe it. Its the perfect size, what is this guy talking about. Not small like a 3 series, not big like a E class. Right in the middle. My only complaint is the price, it can go beyond 50 Grand which is too much even for this.

  • The ONLY CTS model that exceeds $50,000 or even $47,000 is the CTS-V. And if you think that should be under $50k then you're dreaming.

It's also just as large as a BMW 5 series or Mercedes E class -- within 1 inch from both and possibly even larger.

  • @shred5 Well no a loaded CTS can go just barely above 50 grand. I've checked and seen for myself. I dont know but for some reason, the 2010 CTS is more expensive than the older models. Its alright, but I think once you go beyond $50k you should get a V8. Size is no problem, it is about the same on the outside to a 5 series, but is slightly smaller on the inside. Overall, great car, price should be slightly less for a loaded example.

  • The retail can go above $50k, but the invoice of a fully loaded CTS will be less.

I don't actually think that's too bad for a loaded model, considering how nice the base model is etc.

  • @shred5 I don't know about 50k for a CTS. I mean you get the same thing almost in a camaro for $18,000 less. Yes it is inferior, but barely. I do agree however that acura is screwed. They have gone real down hill, not just in sales but in everything. They used to be a median between honda and other luxury brands but now they just make ugly cars that dont seem to appeal to anyone. Why one would anyone buy an acura is beyond me.

  • Get a dealer price for a fully loaded CTS. It should be just under $50k including the $800 (or thereabouts) delivery fee. It might go over $50k with the sales tax though, but that's the only way you should pay above $50.

Acura never appealed to me, but I do see how they used to have appeal to (mostly) dumb young kids though....

  • @DualofChaos umm..you probably don't know your cars too well, considering this is actually just as big as an e class/5 series. Actually I believe the length and wheelbase of the CTS are both bigger than the E class. And car for your dollar? CTSV starts at 69k. How much does an e63 go for? About 89k. Do some research.

  • @roberth214 Well it is about the size of the new e-class, your right. I got a 2012 CTS in black for $38,615 recently, but it was a base. Yet that is about 10k less than an E-Class or 5 series. The car is good enough for me though and I love everything about it and am glad I saved thousands over the Germans. If it is reliable like it should be I will buy another cadillac in a few years.

  • For some reason the angularity of this car doesn't really look to good to me. They need more curves. The redesigned acura lineup did a far better job with styling with the RL being the only real exception. TL's got better interior design as well. The engine also looks kind of boring. They need to really show what's under the hood. Not the plastic cover!

  • The CTS is fairly uniquely styled - either you'll love it or hate it, but the Acura RL is garbage. It would be okay if the price range ran from maybe $30-40k, and that's even being extremely generous. And while the same is true with the TL, the interior and exterior is maybe worthy of a $30k car, tops.

  • @shred5 oh the RL is incredibly nice. I've loaded something into once. You get what you pay for there. Especially with the Technology package and the navigation system.

  • I strongly disagree. I don't see how it can call itself a luxury car not to mention an upper level luxury car.

I think Acura is kind of lost. They used to be small and light and geared towards young people, but now they don't even have that going for them.

  • @shred5 Acura has never been better than they are today. Have you even test driven a RL or TL? It's packed with loads of refinement! not to mention some of the advanced tech that it comes with. Some people have been saying that the CTS feels cheap and plasticy on the inside.

  • my all time favorite sedan! my fav coupe is the camaro, and my fave two seater is the corvette. now whats my fave suv? the jeep wrangler unlimited is nice.

  • gauge could be better.

  • this or a bmw 335i sedan. same power

  • its still not as good as the german cars, but it's getting there.

the cts-v is pretty much the only configuration of this car that really beats its german competitors.

until then, i couldn't live with this car knowing it's not the best in-class.

  • You forget that what's "best-in-class" for YOU might not be best in class for ME.

I'd buy this over the 6-cylinder Audi, Mercedes, or BMW competitors. Cheaper yet not really significantly worse in any one area.

  • so the fact that it's 3-series sized yet weighs 2 tons isn't an issue for you?

  • It's 5-Series sized with 5-Series room, for tens of thousands less. The BMW is a pinch better built inside, has better handling and a worse ride, is quicker in 535i guise, and in every other area including reliability, the Cadillac is better.

    This car is a steal.

  • What!?! You're comparing one of the finest cars money can buy to this lump? BMW spend millions in the developments of its cars- that's why it's largely regarded as the best in the business, in contrast GM doesn't, hence the reason it's a failure. This Cadillac is chintzy- that brown plastic which GM call wood is repulsive. Fuck driving around in a CTS what kind of a statement is that?

  • And driving a BMW says what? You're just badge-conscious and bought less reliable vehicle with an inelegant interior?

    Fuck driving a 3-Series or a 5-Series.

  • I'm assuming you're in your mid 80's as reliability and ride comfort is clearly important to you. It is laughable how you can even compare a BMW to anything GM produce- BMW are the best in the business, their cars are superior to Mercedes, Audi, never mind a Cadillac. Badge conscious? I respect BMW's from an engineering and development point of view. Cadillac- that chrome grill is fooling nobody. GM- like every other American automobile company is nothing short of a failure. How embarrassing.

  • BMW is superior to MB? Oh please. Even my friend's 2002 540i, known as one of the most reliable BMWs, little buttons here and there fall off as it crested 150,000 miles. BMWs are not better than Mercedes. Better handling, and just about nothing else.

So you're trying to call me old fashioned because I value reliability? Maybe you should grow up and understand that getting to my appointments on time is kind of .... CRITICAL .... to my job. BMWs are very nice, just not God.

  • BMW is superior to Mercedes Benz- in almost every way.Weight distribution is perfectly balanced, fantastic handing coupled with fantastic engines, brakes and general mechanics. (and build quality) BMW's widely reliable vehicles if serviced accordingly. BMW have came higher than Mercedes Benz in past JD surveys so I think you should get facts right. Your job? What's that- changing colostomy bags for the elderly? Heating up their meals on wheels? You're pathetic.

  • Not in every way in the least. BMW seats are generally very hard for a vehicle that's mostly going to be used to tool around town. The interiors aren't elegant and aren't worth the extremely high prices BMW charges. The ride in most models is hard too. Mercedes makes fantastic engines and brakes, and they're KNOWN for their engineering and longevity. Clearly you haven't had much experience with a Mercedes, or probably a BMW for that matter.

  • But I see you're from the UK. You guys love to rip on American cars even when they're competitive. Thanks for serving the stereotype.

Why can't you just accept not everyone sees things your way? Just because this car is a winner for me doesn't mean it's a winner for everyone .. obviously.

I'm a marketing director, but trying to insult me with a comment of helping the elderly shows how low you'll go.

  • Oh, because I'm from the U.K. I must hail everything American or I'm branded as a stereotype? Speaking of your career on YouTube is laughable, why didn't you say you fly F-14 fighter jets or something remotely interesting? To even suggest Mercedes is superior to BMW is ludicrous. The only exception I can see is when comparing the 7-series to the S-class. But every other model is top trumped. The Mercedes 190E was a well built car. But Mercedes of late have been anything but.

  • When did I say you have to hail ANYTHING? It's just that UK people rag EVERYTHING from America.

You also sarcastically questioned my line of work, so I didn't bring it up.

You still have zero case in your claim of BMW being all around better than Mercedes. It's all backed up by your OPINION. Maybe sheer handling isn't as important to the next guy as it is to you.

  • Why not save yourself a further couple of thousand dollars by buying a Hyundai Sonata? Handling familiar to that found of a cargo ship coupled with a smooth ride and plastic imitation wood. I'm assuming such a vehicle would be right up your street.

  • Oh yeah I also read just a few days ago that the Equus and Genesis won't be sold in Europe because they're way too brand conscious. No matter how good the car is, if it doesn't say Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW, or Audi you won't buy it. Even Volvo and Saab struggle. News flash, they're one the most reliable vehicles here. I don't know about there.

Anyway, your sarcasm isn't clever. At least I'd enjoy not being robbed when I took it in for service, and less often too.

  • Brands earn a reputation depending on the products they produce. Lexus for example is a relatively new brand- yet because it produced products that the European market wanted it can now be compared to the likes of Mercedes, Jaguar and so on. Saab? The 9-5 for example should have been replaced, say 30 year ago? Reliability clearly is an issue with your. The Soviet-era built Lada's were reliable. I'm assuming you own one. What colour is it?

  • No, I own a TL and a Charger.

  • Wow you're a fuckin idiot. We shut you down on the last vid and you come here looking to start more? Take whatever they found up your mothers cunt and shove it up your ass. At least that way you'll be getting some sort of satisfaction and have something else to do rather than forge false claims against a car you know absolutely nothing about.

  • You shut me down on the last vid, whos we- Interpol? Do you have some weird obsession with General Motors or something? Your typical day, Im assuming consists of- waking up, getting your mother to place you in your new electric wheelchair, and sticking you in front of a computer screen monitor- where you go through various videos to see has anyone voiced an opinion which differs to yours. Seriously- what the fuck is wrong with you? You have some life.

  • Having an opinion and being blatantly wrong are two VERY different things. I actually think your day consists of waking up, and then typing "Cadillac CTS" into the search box.

  • BLAHBLAHBLAH. Good one. You should be a fucking comedian. Now fuck off and change your mothers colostomy bag.

  • Not a joke. It's a funny thing that you should mention colostomy bags though, because I was always under the impression that you wore a Huggies Supreme diaper. I've heard opinions that they shouldn't be worn for more than a week.....now I understand with you being a paraplegic that changing it yourself is hard, so you might want to get your granny to do it for you. If you'd like, I'll come over and change it for you, but if I do, you'll be eating the contents of the diaper.

    Cheers

  • With statements like I'm assuming you get all the PUSSAY- every Friday night.

More chance of a black queen.

  • You seem to have a lot of time on your hands. Go help your mother with the kitchen duties and then maybe she'll perform hers to you before you go to sleep.

With the amount of faggots you've been with you might want to advise that fat sow to use dental dams. (Although I guess STD's run in the family; you probably share them. If that's the case then have fun, go wild.)

  • Hey, I just donated $100 to the WAD (World Aids Foundation) in hopes of them coming up with a some sort of CURE to help you.

I feel it is very important to help people like you because I understand that you have nothing to live for. Good luck, and I hope that you enjoy sucking on the black dildo pinned to your wall before you go to sleep tonight (hell, take it off the wall and use your imagination, what do I care!!!)

  • Chrysler 300, Cadillac CTS

If you get tired of taking the bus I'll be glad to run you over.

  • If size is your only argument why not buy a Hyundai?

  • And where does it show size as being my only arguement, or did you not finish reading?

The ride is much better in the CTS while still being fun to throw around. The interior has class, the exterior actually looks distinctive and elegant, the reliability is better, even the pricing is better.

The 3-Series (and I drove a 335i Saturday again) has a stiff ride, some hard materials, and a general feeling of not much luxury inside.

  • you guys need to calm down, i could have found a more mature argument on a playground. It is just youtube, and these are just sweet cars.

  • Only sucks that they will cost 2x in Europe. It's looks pretty good. You don't see them much in streets. Thinking of getting one

  • I would probably punt Ron Burgundy's dog off a bridge to have this car.

  • Competitors include the Acura TL, Infiniti G, Lexus ES, and Lincoln MKZ. The CTS is one of the least expensive midsize luxury sedan.

This Steve Hannis guy does all the videos.

  • yea but look at the quality in Cadillacs... still have hard plastics here and there.... and is it AWD like the rest? High quality leather?...etc.... Cadillac don't sell it cheaper if it weren't for the materials.

  • yea you're right.. the interior quality in cadillacs is below average for its class.

but look at the luxury amenities, performance, etc. considering everything, the cadillac cts is a decent car

  • The 2008/2009 CTS is such a marvelous car. You see a Caddy CTS on the road, and you immediately feel its style and presence.....it does not look like any other car on the road. Bravo Cadillac! You had the brains and brawn to create your own unique style!

  • Yeah exactly!!! Something about the CTS draws your eye to it. The back looks really slick!

  • which one would u pick, a dodge charger or a cadillac cts?

  • definitly a cts

  • Well for this money you could buy the SRT8, which is what I would buy.

    These Caddys are hot though!

  • no question..a CTS

  • cts ofcoarse but the charger is sick

  • I would prefer the CTS over any BMW, Audi, Mercedes or whatever thes boring and overrated cars are called

  • Any? Wow ...

  • I probably would too just because of all the negative things I've heard about BMW and Mercedes.

  • Cadillac has always been a class of its own and always will be and does not need to compete with BMW or Mercedes. Cant understand why everybody is so keen on German Cars, especially here in Germany.

  • I think Cadillac has always been better than any German car brand. Cadillac was the first brand to have power steering, cruise control, ac, automatic transmission, etc already in the fifties and sixties when German cars could only dream of such things. I drive a 78 Eldorado Biarritz, and even that 30 year old car is better equipped than may dad's 2004 BMW 3-series.

  • now that's truely a WOW car, just the mere name CADILLAC and how it sounds would have me preferring a CADILLAC over a mercedes or a bmw anyday. oh one more time....C A D I L L A C .. huuhh great :) way to go U.S. carmakers !

  • if this car was a girl...

  • 2008 CTS is a really nice car, big improvement over the last one which was also a good car. But what I don't understand is this reviewer. He reviewed an 05 CTS (look it up) and didn't say anything bad about the interior, and in this vid he says it's an embarrassment. The old CTS had a good interior, minus the center stack which looked a little odd, but it was well put together and functional. Also, in the vid where he reviews the 05, he says he would take a TSX over the CTS. What a fuckin moron

  • I traded my 2007 E350 on a new CTS DI 3.6. The Cadillac is much faster gets about the same mileage, handles better and in my opinion looks like a new car compared to my E's old looks. My Mercedes also was in the dealers service more times than you would believe. The perception that German cars are better is a false one I wish more people would wake up to. Also the maintanance costs of the MB are a joke. MB is a poor joke at a high price!

  • i had an accident on this car two days ago..

the other car doing like 70 km hit me from left side (driver side)

i really think if i was driving another car i would be in the hospital right now

btw: the other car was a BMW and it's in bad shape

  • Nice review.

  • of course it is a different class but you could look at any one of the Audi's classes of cars and they will beat any American make but although those type of cars cost too much so I would get this only for cost and it's somewhat good gas mileage not saying it does not look good.

  • differnce class
