Only just came across this band recently, and this song is fantastic! I can't see why people call it pop, except it's an optimistic & uplifting sounding song. If that's the case, then "Ressurection" by Fear Factory must be pop too! :p. This mostly reminds me of Van Halen.
Ok first coheed isnt pop, yes Feathers is pop but coheed isnt (just in case you had the wrong idea) second welcome to the wonderfull world of coheed and i love the fact that u understand that even though they have pop songs it sounds wayy diferent and better than whatever else is out there and third be sure to watch the video for Feathers THIS monday either on Mtv2 unleashed OR look for it on youtube :)
coheeds alternative/progressive rock. because of all the genres of music they cover, and becuse the fact they have some 8 minunte long songs that dont repeat anything, and thne 3 minute rocks songs.
Coheed and Cambria. People say this album is bad because it sounds not like them more "pop" than alternitave. They keep coming up with great songs. And if they play them on the radio, it doesn't mean their more of a "pop" sound it means more people like them .. and that's great because they rock
If people say this album has ANY pop songs, they have not listened to the album and are just trying to bullshit you. The only track that is remotely pop is radio bye bye, 90% of the album is prog/alternative rock.
I kind of accept coheed being mainstream now, or radio whatever you prefer to call it. But GA Vol. 1 was not their worst album, it was their most experimental. Personally Hearing Claudio change his singing a little lower in some songs opposed to whispering was an interesting change. And Josh used a double bass for a few songs. But girl singers and shorter songs make NWFT the worst (IMO). I'm also upset they never play hearshot live anymore :'(
Really? I think Second Stage is their most experimental. I agree with what you said about the girl singers, but I don't care how long the songs are. I wish they'd play older songs as well.
Second stage is very experimental too. That's what made coheed great. I love how they basically grooved out in songs, like the beginning of time consumer or delirium trigger. My personal favorites are Second Stage and IKSSE:3, when coheed was at their peak. But GA V1 is their most different from typical coheed
I agree I liked coheed and cambria when they first started off, then claudio changed his voice and it started bringing doubts, but i still love them like no other=]
also the backup singers sound like they r dying, no offense
second stage was deff the most expeiremental, look at how many different sounds they make through the album. look at 33, and then everything evil, and then songs like godsend and neverender. wide range.
Coheed kickass...and although I probably prefer Good Apollo V1 and In Keeping Secrets...it is still a progression. I liked their previous albums because you couldn't fit them into any genre and were really unique, where as you can categorise this and it is more mainstream. One thing I dislike are the back up singers...they are sharp and ruin the best part of feathers :( this makes me sad :(
coheed and cambria only died out to those who didnt like the newer sound they brought to the table. the lyrics and ideas behind all the music are still the ass kicking righteous shit from albums before. dont try to tell me they died out bro. just my .2

Its a setup, if you look closely you can tell that in the background that symbol tells what Coheed and Cambria. Coheeds an angel and Cambria's the devil. Pretty cool if you ask me. Its a song about Cambria when he was an angel and he hides his feathers before he kills someone. Hense how he becomes the devil, dope storyline.
Newo isn't Claudio's version of Erica, Ambellina is... i think (i don't have the comic so i could be wrong) but didn't Newo tell Claudio she woulf wait for him until the whole mess was over? then she went behind his back...i also heard Newo is a Prise so IDK!!!
ok, people he obviously didn't know that coheed and cambria are writing this science fiction novel with their music. he made his own interpretation of the song. i've been a coheed fan since second stage but many people who are just now getting into them i'm sure don't know the story at all.
Im with you man, i have been with Claudio for a while, and im tired of all these posers pretending they know anythign about Coheed and Cambria or their storyline
dude some people try to guess what the songs mean to find out other pieces of the story but your no where fucking close try to learn your facts before commenting
they could have colored construction paper in the background and as long as i was there to see them, i wouldn't give a shit, haha. i wish they had the guillotine like they did last year, i wanted to see that in person so bad.
Wasn't this on Halloween and not November 2?

coheed has plenty of pop songs
dont try and deny it.
coheed are great as they are and part of their music is big choruses and catchy riffs, just as much as any prog or metal influences.

Feathers might be their most pop song ever.
zmtertel 4 years ago
Number one, if it is, its hardly there, and number 2, thats not saying much as they are a prog rock band, and not a pop rock band.

tenspeed summed it up for me.
