In a 3-person mechanic, the slot or third official is in charge of any last second shot. Even though one of them should have seen the blatant air ball, it was the female official or the slot official's call. Again, during the timeout, they should have had a brief conference & review the proper procedure for last second shots, e.i. who covers what. This should never happen. My other question is, "Why wasn't video replay used?" All official's can learn from this case play.
This is awful. These officials should never call an NCAA game again, what a joke. They even conferenced and got the call wrong. Good thing these "incidents" get caught on tape so refs can be held accountable.
@AlignmentAcquisition I'm assuming your posts are jokes, otherwise you must not understand the basic rules of the game .Such a clear cut violation. whether you want to say it is was motivated by a homecourt bias or not, it's pretty indisputable that a violation occurred.
@AlignmentAcquisition at the beginning of the vid, 12.3 on the game clock and 10 on the shot clock are visible, when the 3 point shot goes up, the shot clock expires while in the air, triggering an audible horn and light on the backboard, and the shot clearly does not make contact with the rim, or anything, falling right into the Wash player's hands. clearly a terribly, terribly blown call, and that should be acknowledged by fans of any rooting interest.
"The shot clock expires, horn sounds, but the officials ignore it. Wash U goes on to score. Officials huddle up and still get the call wrong. Watch the video from Sunday's controversial ending." -d3hoops
"Women's basketball defeats NYU on a blatant shot clock violation but it's all good cause Wash U refs skew every 2nd half in favor of the Bears" is a more accurate title for this video.

Ref A: "Why are the visitors pissed off?"
Ref B: "Hell should I know; just act like we're arguing about something."
Ref A: "I'm going to touch your arm now to show solidarity."
Ref B: "Cool."

Terrible call.

What is most disturbing is that at 0:19, the official responds to the shot clock horn by stepping forward, but then waits until Wash U scores.

HORRIBLE BIASED OFFICIATING. CLEARLY A SHOT CLOCK VIOLATION. WASH U FANS CAN'T DENY THAT.

Man, that's weak post defense. It's as if NYU wasn't even trying.
