  • I can't get enough. I think he should have left in the eyeball kid part. But who am I to decide.

  • jajajajajajajajajajajajaja I Love Tom Waits

  • i much prefer this one to the album.

  • This is well infinitely less creepy than the final version. I like this one better...

  • @RubyBladeAwesome Less creepy you say? I would like to hear the final version.. Any idea where or how I can find it?

  • @Zeldaprincess It's called "We're All Mad Here". 's on the 'tube!

  • @RubyBladeAwesome Just listened to it. It's..not as rough as this one.. So I prefer this one, oddly enough. Wasn't as creepy as I had hoped, but still good.

  • 1:00 my favourite part!!! Tom Waits is God, he even knows that everything goes to hell but he's too lazy to work that out.

  • Isn't this just a different version of "We're All Mad Here"?

  • @MurdocCross This is a demo version.

  • I think I like this version a lot more.

  • this is incredibly awesome!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

  • Popeye has nothin' on tom waits.

  • he sings like a nightingale

  • @zarkoradakovic In this he sounds like an old parrot

  • we;ve all mad here

  • What's he reading?

  • This song freaked me out the first time I heard it... lol

  • it reminds me of my friend shawn channeling demons in his sleep...haha...cool enough.. best song

  • I love how he refers to Eyeball Kid here. Great song but the album version is pretty damn fine also.

  • Hmm... I guess this is how Popeye would sound if he released an album... he he

  • awesome ^_^

  • This is the scariest song I have ever heard!

  • amazing! what a legend

  • It sounds like he's channeling Captain Beefheart.

  • nice

  • brilliant

  • This sounds like something from A Nightmare Before Christmas.

  • i think of the grinch that stole christmas

    but christmas nevertheless. lol

  • Yeah, he sounds like the werwolf only drunk

  • btw today is Tom's birthday -dec 7th-

  • well you can hang me in a bottle like a cat let the crows pick me clean but for my hat where the wailing of a baby meets the footsteps of the dead we're all mad here and the devil sticks his flag into the mud Mrs Carol has run off with Reverend Judd hell is such a lonely place and your big expensive face will never last have I told you all about the eyeball kid? he was born alone inside a petri dish he was born without a body or a brow and you'll die with the rose still on your lips
  • and in time the heart-shaped bone that was your hips and all the worms they will climb the rugged ladder of your spine we're all mad here and my eyeballs roll this terrible terrain and we're all inside a decomposing train and your eyes will die like fish and the shore of your face will turn to bone hang me in a bottle like a cat let the crows pick me clean but for my hat where the wailing of a baby meets the footsteps of the dead we're all mad here
  • because it's helpful?!

  • I would love to put this on in a dance club.

  • hahahaha

  • This is better than the album version!

  • i atchally bought that book its a little out of hand

  • thanks for posting this i haven't heard it like this. it's greatttt

  • that picture of Tom looks like one of those posters you'd see in a school library that says READ in big letters over it, except a billion times better!

  • Put some drums to it and you've got it.

  • Tom was DEFINITELY inspired by Captain Beefheart, and this song proves it... Right on!

  • What is tbe name of that boook? anyone know?

  • Hi drivepro,

the book on the picture is "Mammoth Book of Oddities" (subtitle: The world's most bizarre weird and amazing facts and feats)

    by Frank O'Neil.

    Cheers.

  • is this not we are all mad here???

  • It is, but a different version... I've never heard it before. I love it.

  • Interesting. I don't know if I like this version or the one that made it onto the album more.

  • i love both versions. great to be able to listen to different versions of songs. especially when they're by truly great artists like Tom Waits.
