  • awesome. this coming from a mixed martial artist, sef shin fighter. i train sef shin which is a form of mixed martial arts but tradional martial arts at the same time with kata's and self defense. i also train bjj and spar against boxers, and other fighters. i appreciate this kata though, not 100% perfect but beautiful and powerful.

  • The women's team was better

  • very good but not perfect. 1:40 the man at the left had moved a little early...But generally this is a very good kata's performance.

  • i think the japanese womens team kata did a better annan than the mens

  • rye ryu motherfuckers

  • i love karate

  • There are less together

  • 1.40.... why?????

  • really good, but 1:40 ...

  • Just a fast comment... this kata is great!!

  • wow very very good performance

  • uh oh. messed up on the kick. who do you think was better, men or the women?

  • I just read the question i asked and i meant Shito-Ryu, no disrespect was meant. Are there any Ryuei-Ryu schools in NYC?

  • Thank you Sonata!

  • Which spectrum of the martial arts does this kata come from? Is it Shit-Ryu?

  • @darkmatrix55 This is Ryuei-Ryu

  • GREETINGS FROM GREECE! Shotokan karate is this? They are great!!!

    Peace

  • @Theosalonika2010 well it 's ryuei.ryu version, the very first version of Anan. But it's also listed as Shito-ryu

  • cool:D

    i love some of shito-ryu's kata..:D

    even though imo shotokan..

  • Could I get the characters for "anan" and if it Chinese/Japanese/Okinawan dialect?

  • @seta9909 Of course: アーナン is the Japanese writing. It is the Okinawan language.

  • The name of this kata please? Thank you!

  • @seangarb: The name of this kata is "Anan", as the title suggests. Some people incorrectly spell it "Annan" though.

  • @KARATEbyJesse Thank you very much. But the style is Shito ryu? Fantastic! I want study this kata!

  • @KARATEbyJesse actually when it was first written in english it was incorrectly spelled with one "n" it is supposed to be spelled "Annan"

  • @ShotokanBleach I beg to differ. The Japanese katana (phonetic writing) reads: "アーナン", which correctly translated would be Aanan. But, since we typically don't write out double a, it simply becomes Anan. "Annan" is am Americanized version, popular though phonetically incorrect (using the Hepburn system of romanization).

  • Exhausting kata!!! One you wish you could do even half as well as these guys.

  • lol ANAN is a style magazine is japan ;-)

  • How do you edit a video to look like this?

  • muy buena pero hubo un ERROR muy grande en el 1.40 uno se adelanto y lamentablemente fue x mucho despues de ahi es una buena kata

  • VERY GOOD! one of the best performance i've seen yet!!

the only obvious thing was 1:38 the rest was very very good!

they were all in sympathy with the kata! my compliments!!

  • just listen the "snap" sound of the gis, pure focused force, OSS!!!

  • Great job, I'm just learning this kata and even getting the moves right is a problem... especially the sidekick followed by the 180 degree spin and side chop.

  • What a work of art that group kata was. I bet that took lots of practice by all three of them to synchronize on so forth.

  • OSS

  • Yup...

  • awesome presentation nonetheless. I would be proud to be a part of this team

  • 1:35 around that, the lowkick goes rong. but rest of the kata, niiiiiice

  • yep i noticed a little delay by the left guy but... i dont care, it was fantastic :D

  • What he said below ^^

But they messed up a little on that low-kick...

  • Very nice, can't wait to see them on the world championships. Thanks for sharing!
