My grandmother is from Riga, then russia, but she was german, living in a big house, having servants from the latvian people. I loved my grandmother with all my heart, cried like a baby when she died, a 97 year old. But many of her odlfashioned thoughts, I couldn't share - her conservatism and the way to treat some people still as servants,like the latvians in the old days.She would help and care for them even in her poorest days during the war, never treat them without respect, but as servants.

He had to come up with a reason to stand by his friend Jeramiah Wright, so he told of how she once told him she panicked if a strange black man cam up to her.
