  • this is a great idea. lets concentrate on the dash instead of the world thats flying by at 100mph. with no seatbelt. inbred rednecks...

  • at 0:06...one gauge isnt working...i hope

  • 11mpg have fun with that

  • @crunch691 im getting 8.5 mpg

  • It wont go past 100, haha

  • You can use the rpm range all the way up to 4750 for grade braking on all Dmax's. They took the dotted redline off the 06's and up because it was confusing people, which the dotted redline really meant that it was ok to be in that rpm range for grade braking purposes

  • haha startin off at 11.5 and goin down to 10.7

  • this isnt a duramax it red lines just before 5 grand. Duramaxes red line at like 3500

  • @aeromycin lol yeah it is, tach only goes to 5 grand gas trucks go to 6

  • wow your a dumb ass the speed is off bc the big ass tires ur pop goin like 70 or maybe less

  • @ddharkey shut the fuck up. the 39.5 mickeys i got on my highboy only throw it off 5mph. learn something before you open your mout mr keyboard mechanic.

  • damn thats badass, that thing pulls like a freight train even with 37's on it!

  • I love how we witness the mpg's droppin by the second haha

  • that would be fucking awesome if we saw the rims & tires

  • still got 16 mpg

  • high rpms in a diesel = failure and breakage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    just sayn

  • i have a 2002 dodge cummins diesel 24 valve and i love it! i have a smarty chip runnin and upgraded injection rods. its a beast, and my buddy has a duramax, but has had problems with the tranny alot.

  • if your going to say you have an 8 inch lift with 24 inch rims and 37 inch tires show us the damn truck

  • @ragebowhunter93 haha rightt...

  • HAHA....that's right

  • i fuckin bet that ruck can give waaaay mor then justhat but now adays vehicles are governed and that truck isnt givin itall its got

  • I Love That Paint...is that 2 tone dupont...?

  • WOW! Those are some nice rims! Goes good with the lift! -_-

  • what does the title have to do with the vid?

  • holy shit people say the ford diesels get bad fuel economy shit that things only avraging according to the trucks comp. 11 miles to the gallon my uncles 6.0 powerstroke gets avrage of 13.. and he drives like that...

  • That is not a dmax. I own an 01 3500 They all red line at 3500 and even the fuel gauge says diesel on them. Also listen closely no turbo mine is stock and you can really hear the turbo between 2500 and 3 grand when it shifts.

  • if u listen close u can hear the turbo b/t shifts

  • na dude, no turbo...i have the same truck same motor 6.0 vortec mine makes the same sound

  • i no wat ur talkin bout cuz my dad has a 05 gmc with the 6.0 in it but look at his tach compared 2 urs. c wat im sayin? the gassers go up 2 6000rpm vs the diesels go to 5. look at some other dmax vids on here 2 c wat im talkin bout

  • yea i agree, if it was a diesel you would hear a turbo...plus i think i duramax would move a little faster...on the 06-07 motors dont they redline at 5k?..the dash says it however i dont own a dmax so im just asking

  • nah the tach says it but its like 3500 redline. mine has a gay ass aftermarket white faceplate so idk wat it is for sure but 5k is alot of revs for a diesel. with 37" tires and stock gears and no chip wont b that fast. mine had 35s and it was decent but now that its chipped i can really haul ass even wit stock gears and big rubber

  • they dont redline at 3500 they are governed so joe homeowner doesnt blow it up doin a burnout at six grand

  • factory they redline at 3500. if u spin a motor with 20 to 1 compression at 6 grand on stock internals it will let go in a hurry

  • yup i know a guy who split his crank in two at the strip

  • yup lol not hard to do by over revving

  • got that right

  • yep yep lol. and it doesnt make any more power up high cuz theres no fuel map up there

  • gotta love em though

  • yep lol. they make efi live for a reason lol.

  • This is a Duramax. Dumbass.

  • no it is a duramax it just has the allison 1000 tranny in it i have a 2007 gmc sierra with the lbz duramax and it red lines at 4800

  • bullshit

  • @eclipse10101 it redlines at 4800rpm but i never said the duramax can handal that kind of rpms dumb ass

  • lol prolley

  • yea thats a duramax bud, in 2006 they changed the redline indicator to 5,000rpm. why? idk because it doesn't even get to 4k stock, gota buddy who has a 06LBZ and even "taping" the gears it won't come close.

  • 100 plus w no seatbelt... tsk tsk ;)

  • dude...nice, but you gotta show he truck! You just can't say that it's a 8" lift 24" and 37" tires. I just saw a speedometer. Show the truck.

  • Well I checked and it is 26 gal. Not enough for towing a trailer.

  • i wish mine had a 40+ gal tank, a duramax (or and new deisel) with a 22 ish gal tank is so handy.

  • 22 gallons thats it,thats pathetic go Cummins

  • ouch 10mpg

  • They might get 10mpg but their fuel tanks carry like 40+ gallons so they have like a 1000 mile range

  • thats a chevy fix for you

  • 40x10= 400 mile range while it cost you 100 dollars to fill up

  • yeah but it reads throttle input and the calculates it. if you drive it normaly you'll get about 19mpg.

  • It's like the video is in slow motion......

  • its a dmax.. im a mechanic. just watch where its shifts relative to the mph..

  • hell yea dforty40

  • I have a chevy 2500HD Duramax 6.6, worst decision i've ever made. At 18,000 miles the stock chevy (not allison) tranny is shot, the truck bucks and stalls on a regular basis, this truck is absolute shit.

  • should have gotten allison : )

  • should have gotten allison : )

  • its not the truck beleve me its that garbage tranny if u got this truck y didnt u get the allison now that was a dumb desicion

  • I didn't know you could get anything but an allison??

  • you get get aftermarket trannys do deal with the extream amout of pressure like suncoast ect..

  • get a bully dog or something !!!

  • Oh, and further more, look at the gear indicator on the dash, It goes P R N D M 1. M being for the manual gear selector switch located on the gear lever. Gas Chevys don't come with Allison transmissions.

  • Ah so true but the gassers do have the manual option,, I have 4 of them (company owned ) and in 08' the 2500 fleet series do have them.

  • I see. I'm gussing that 08 is the first year for them? And I am also assuming they are Allisons for heavy duty fleet use. What engines are you trucks equiped with and can you get the ally with any gasser for fleet use? Thanks for the education.

  • Yes it was the first year for them. You can special order the 2500 and 3500 with the ally but you wont hardly see them at a dealer, its only a $ 4,000 upgrade. Mine are only running the 6.0 but they work ok, not nearly the same power as my dmax. The 4l80 has the manual option just like the ally's but the controller does not have the down hill assist which you will find in the 07' and later ally's. Hope this helps.

  • It does, thanks. I know they stopped putting a P.T.O. in the allys a couple years back, do the special order gassers come with it?

  • the only gasser with the allison is the 8.1

  • And for the rest of you that seem to doubt that it is a Duramax, here is another video with the same gauge cluster. Just copy and paste this... 2007 Chevy Duramax 0-60 run

  • well i see one major thing wrong that truck is not a duramax and how i kno is that u look at the rpm gauge beings that im a deisal mechanic i kno that a diesal truck will not a rpm gauge and u can also tell by the sound of the truck that its not diesal

  • WOW, you really are a redneck. Learn how to spell, It's KNOW, not kno. You claim to be a DIESEL mechanic, I would think you might KNOW how to spell DIESEL. And what are you saying about the tachometer...oh, that the correct name for the rpm gauge. That a DIESEL does not have one?? Or that it red lines at 4750. And the sound, what, because its not loud?? Diesel engines have come along way in the past few years.

  • @superchargedredneck look at the god damn tach gas truck tach reads up to 6 grand, this one only goes to 5 grand.

  • haha i got the same mpg as you. i get 12.7mpg but 14.3 on a good day

  • you have a slant eye isuzu!!!! go back to japan! is that all you rice loving fags care about... speed? a diesel is not ment for speed. it is meant to pull and haul. "whoopdefuckingdo my duradueche can go 100 miles per hour." what does that accomplish?

  • the point is, that it can go fast, get good mileage, and still tow

  • tow what? a fucking moped? wow im very impressed

  • that truck would likely tow a backhoe with no trouble, if the brakes were upgraded

  • backhoe?? do you mean a 1:60 scale replica? or a backhoe attachment for a skidsteer?

  • open your eyes, stop being a fanboy, and try one out, they tow just as good as any other diesel pick up out there.

out shop truck does nothing but towing, minimal upgrades and has hauled anything we have thrown at it so far

  • hah youre prolly just an ignorant powerjoke feller aint ya? considering GM is the only American owned car company today, why would he goto japan? Btw GM owns isuzu, so isuzu is basically American too...

  • no isuzu is slant eye rice burning piles of shit. i take it you love duramax. so why dont you take your independant front suspension and ram it up your ass.

  • Don't get mad at me because IFS is a better design...

  • NO!!! ifs sucks dick. unless you dont tow or haul anything. if there is any weight in an ifs truck it sucks for doing any sort of work.

  • Idk, Ive never had any problem with an ifs plowing or hauling gooseneck trailers. At least with a Dmax you know at the end of a long day of plowing your truck's going to get you home.

  • I stand corrected. My duramax redlines at 4800rpm.

  • as far as how much the engines can take, they will rev well above that. banks had some mainly stock engines turning 6000 rpm, they claim it doesnt hurt them at all but i have a hard time believing that. and as far as the engines themselves, they are one of the most reliable out there, izuzu has been making diesels for a long time, i think they know wut they are doing.

  • do ppl really have to keep questioning if its a duramax? and as far as the tach goes ive got an 03, the redline starts at 3250 or so, and that is where the stock duramax's shift. however, there is a solid red area towards the end of the redline zone, which starts at about 4500. wut GM did is they got rid of the first bit of the redline colour and only put in the last solid part. all of the stock duramaxs still shift at 3250, from my 03 to my old mans 07 LMM.

  • Go to my other videos, see that black stuff coming out of the exhaust...that's not gas fumes.

  • who ever was saying its not a diesel most likely drive a hybrid when was the last time you saw a gas motor shift under hard acceleration at 3200. and ya he is getting 11mpg while he is fire walling it. god people just think they no everything and every video on you tube is a fake

  • why do these things have a 4750 redline when they clearly redline around 3500

  • whats the point? small kid can drive 100

  • thats not to safe

  • haha its not a ford a dodge or a duramax can handle that

  • are u ppl blind or just stupid. its not a diesel at all. read the damn tach. redline 4.5k last i looked my lb7 redlined at around 3200rpm

  • yeah mine too but it does shift right at 3200 also. confusing...

  • prolly just a different gauge cluster

  • umm the newer ones redline @ 4500....that is a D-Max my friend has one just like it

  • my 2006 K3500 Silverado LBZ has redline at 5000RPM and shifts under hard acceleration at 4900 RPM.

  • sorry but its not a diesel then bud.... unless its heavilt modified....

  • aint no way a duramax turns 5 grand

  • You need to get out more. The new LBZ engines along with the LMM have a different gauge cluster. The LBZ's still shift out at 3250 RPMS, Redline is higher. Before you call people stupid, you better check around yourself..

  • i would think that the guy who put it on here would know what he has in it, and title does say "DURAMAX" in it. so who is blind and stupid i ask? The progamer 3 is. must be, or u'd be progamer #1 wouldnt you. plus the gas engine tachs go up to 6k, not 5k like this one, and it shifts at 3200, i know for a fact the 4.8L goes at least 5300, ive done it.

  • no way in hell even the new dmax redlines at 5k. lets make some smart comments, i did not know they changed the guage cluster so im sorry their. i got friends with new ones and no they do not redline at 5k

  • 10mpg from a diesel. WTF?

  • dude I just reset my mpg estimator...I do get better than 10mpg.

  • how do you reset the mpg estimator?

  • @postie2003 He's making the same mistake as all the other idiots! So little MPG as most of the diesel is wasted and burnt off in the turbo and manifold which reduces power and causes excess heat. You can't just pump loads of diesel in, the cylinder can only use a set amount, you need to make the cylinder BIGGER. Learn about engines!

  • @urbex2007 haha please stop!

  • @urbex2007 your right and wrong. stock it can only take so much, but you dont make the cylinder bigger. you lower the compression ratio, add more fuel and more air.

  • @postie2003 They way most guys drive them, you would think they get worse.

  • What tune were you running on this run?

  • hot+2 level 4

  • lovin the duramaxes

  • LMFAO 11mpg

  • GM trucks have a computer that calculates your gas mileage according to how you're driving. So of course it's going to say 11 when he's flooring it. If he let off the gas it'd say like 30 mpg.

  • Please do not make a comment unless you know what you are talking about. This is called the DIC (driver information center) and to calculate your mpg, it takes the total mileage and divides it by the total amount of fuel in gallons you have run through your truck. so no he does not actually get 11 mpg. diesels can get in the 20s on the highway while towing. that is pretty damn good compared to a lowly gas that might get around your 11 while towing.

  • dills they dmaxes and the gassers have the same tach...keeps cost low

  • he was right , gassers go to 6 as far as i re call it

  • I will post a new video with the lift off and 530rwhp. It beats my brothers ls1 camaro ss with some mild work done to it.

  • for 37's, that acceleration is pretty impressive.

  • I didnt know the let kids post comments...

  • look at the m in the gear selection you fuckin meat head .. its a duramax ...gas chevys dont have 6 spd allies in them wit trip tron

  • sherman u can hear the turbo easily

ur just mad cuz u dont know what diesel is asshole

  • its is a ucking duramax. look at the tachometer..it only goes to 5 grand gas goes to 6. smartasses

  • Too bad thats not a duramax, its gas. you guys are fucking stupid. chevy's suck cock; like the owners.

  • well to be fucking honest, you dont know shit to cars since this IS a Duramax

  • well it is a diesle but they do suck cock

  • lol, do you seriously think it's a gas motor? You're an inbred.

  • What do you drive? A piece of shit honda? how 'bout a corolla? You wish you had the money for something like that truck.

  • its a duramax , he was dating my neighboor

  • I'm engaged to her

  • congrats ,

  • thats pretty fast...but can we see the truck??

sounds like its a monster...i like the wheel tire combo

  • We just drove our '06 Duramax to denver and back, we live in New Orleans for the NHRA Nationals, with less then 1k miles on it we got 17.5mpg, once u hit about 30k miles ur milage jumps to about 22+ on the highway.

  • wow, 11MPG....I am getting an average of 22

  • is that highway?

  • Sure is...I get an average of 22 on the highway and about 16-18 in the city, it varies alot in the city since the speeds change all the time

  • lol you werent wearing your seat belt.. good job though

  • what programmer and/or module are you running? it pulls pretty strong for having big wheels. nice vid and you even took the video without your seatbelt ;-)

  • no GM cheaped out on the 06' to save money and use the same tach as the gassers

  • haha no chevy did not cheap out, its actually because the old tach system people were using it and not knowing you can reach over 4grand down braking. they redesigned it so the downbraking is a little more understandable. besides the gassers tach reaches 6 grand.

  • why does your tach reach 4700rpms did u put the kit in it even then it doesnt rev that high
