If you don't believe me try using a search engine and looking for Vitamin E clinical studies with scars. Any combination will bring up the information. Most people develop dermatitis.

I found something that actually removes the scar. I had an 8 inch scar on my forearm since when I was 12, from a skate boarding accident involving me on a skate board, a driving car, and a very steep road. Any way... it got rid of the scar entirely. I've also used it on stretch marks and it heals them over night!

i use rosehip oil to help reduce scars left from acne... its best to apply it at night so it will have time to penetrate the skin.

I also found Dr. Blaine's Complete Scar Care Treatment works the best on flattening and fading scars- keloids, hypertrophic, acne and surgical scars. The treatment has a silicon gel-pad that you wear for 12 hours and then a liquid gel that you apply for the rest of the day. You can buy it at Longs Drug/CVS and Walmart for like $20. Palmers is a moisturizer. For a professional product that is proven to reduce old scars and help prevent new ones after you get a cut or surgery, my doctor recommended ScarAway which worked well for me.

Ask the doctor who did the ACL surgury for a second opinion. Vitamin E with sunscreen is the recommended treatment, or just vitamin E if you stay out of the sun. Sun is your enemy and moisture is your friend. Don't just apply the vitamin E ( I use vit. E capsules that I break open to get the oil at night) and Mederma with sunscreen for daytime, actually MASSAGE it into the skin. Mederma with sunscreen costs $19 for a small tube at WalMart. Start this treatment two weeks post surgery.

You should go to the dermatologist and have a laser treatment. Can be a bit expensive, but the results are worth it.

honey is a natural antiseptic so its good for acne but wont do anything for scars. for babacruz: use lemon juice on a cottonball on the area. it worked for me

freshly sqeezed on a cottonball. none of that little plastic yellow bottle stuff. if its a crater-type scar then there really isnt any other option than having a professional cosmetic procedure done though i have heard that stri-vectin eye cream works

unfortunately natural or chemical lighteners will also lighten your surrounding healthy skin and can leave a water mark type stain permanently on your skin. This can be especially troublesome for people with darker skin. Be careful...use a clinically proven scar reducer like ScarAway
