  • The sand that many novice hobbyists use in their terrariums is silica, which does not contain any calcium. Ingesting this sand substrate can block the digestive tract.

Calcium substrate is 100% digestible. The substrate is made of aragonite, the most soluble form of calcium carbonate available. Ingesting these sands is safe and will actually provide the calcium the gecko is craving. Not only does the substrate look nice, but it also encourages natural walking and digging activities of your leo.

  • @BettaAlpha Thank you for that. Many people dont seem to understand that and I get a lot of hate for it

  • Looks like the Flinstones neighborhood, you should have named the Fred and Wilma.

  • @lawnsausages HAHA, true say

  • Um, well I believe my own is about 30 gallons in terms of that size. Length is usually a good thing to keep in mind so they can be apart whenever they want. When you are housing more than one gecko, also make sure to use numerous hiding places which includes behind plants and caves. One cave on each side of the tank (one hot, one cold) is also a good thing to do. The dimensions you posted sound pretty good. The one you posted sounds good. Rectangular shaped is great, especially for two.

  • nice terarium setup, looks really natural. :) how big should be a terarium for 2 leopard geckos?is 90x45x30 cm big enough?i don´t have geckos yet,but i´m planning to buy a male and a female.

  • wat substrate is that?

  • @reptileboy676 Mixed calci-sand

  • @shanetm that is horrible for leopard geckos they will get impacted n die. that is how mine died when i didnt kno about impaction :(

  • @shanetm Eh... They are now 3 and 4 and I've never had any problems. I've used it all their life and they have been completely fine. I provide them with enough calcium that they are never tempted to eat it plus since they are older, they dont need the calcium as much as they do when they are still growing.

  • whats the song called

  • @AwesomeAlan44 Revenge-The plain white tees

    enjoy.

  • @shanetm thanks

  • Dude you are so lucky lol. I have a big adult raptor male that I bought as a adult.

He will not chase his crickets or hunt them at all. If i use tongs he will eat them. Do you have any ideas on how to get him chasing crickets? I don't know what to do

  • @bmanjuice

Hmm, thats really weird. Lenny associates the tongs with food because I used to feed him with the tongs as a baby (whenever he sees tongs, he goes nuts), but its usually animal instint when it comes to chasing their prey, so he still does so.

The only thing I can suggest is maybe leaving him overnight to see if the crickets dissapear from his cage (he ate them) many reptiles are nocturnal, so maybe he will be more active during the night and decide he is hungry and eat them.

  • @bmanjuice

My geckos actually eat freeze dried, gut loaded crickets from a dish on a daily basis when they get hungry

Try what I suggested and comment back letting me know how things go. Btw Im getting an actual camcorder pretty soon, and when I do I will be making more vids of my little beasts

  • dont use sand!

  • I've used sand all their lives except when they were really young and never had any problems.

Its calci-sand so they cant get impacted like with the regular stuff

  • Also, I didnt mention that i feed them plenty of calcium in their diets, so they shouldnt be eating it anyways
