i love minus the bear but this town needs guns is better. they are much much more complex and technical with guitar parts. minus the bear is phenomenal but ttng is just unbeatable.

this band is constantly using time signatures, and they're great, but that gets real repetitive most times. It's impressive, innovative, and fresh, but it doesn't hit that musical G-spot, that doesn't require all the technicality. Their old album is much better than the new one.

I can write songs for example but I need to get the overall gist of the type of music I'm trying to play, ttng is way different than anything I've really ever played and it's not really much of the actual playing, the tunings throw me off since I'm pretty sure that they don't tune to standard/drop type tunings and that they tune some strings up and such.

There are a lot of really interesting techniques that he uses that are borderline impossible to experiment with without looking at EXACTLY what the notes are. Don't dismiss everyone looking for tabs as someone who is trying to straight rip off someone else's style.
