Penalty killing is based on the key word being DEFENCE. its the first thing we learn when we play hockey so why is it the leafs under Wilson have one of the top 5 worst penalty killing % year after year? Sorry but Berger is right in this case. They are referring to Wilson (the night before) calling for a curve measurement on Spezza's stick. Why in god's name would Wilson pull that trick out of his hat? So he could win a game in March? That's a one trick pony. Let's say a year or 5 years down the line the Leafs are in the playoffs and are down by a goal in Game 7. Wilson will never be able to do that again.
Before anyone comments please understand that his wins and games do not mention ties or overtime losses. He could very well be over a point a game coach. And honestly, with the teams he has coached, that's a damn miracle.

JS hasn't really proved himself to be better than gusty in Toronto.. yeah he got 2 shut outs, but he wasn't making and marty brodeure saves. So should JS be our starter next year? Yes, absolutely. but we're not making the playofs this year, so call up the little guys. LEt hanson and stalberg stay on the team, and put gusty in net, so they can gain a little bit of experience for next year. But yes, next year is a different story.

Sorry but Berger is right in this case. They are referring to Wilson (the night before) calling for a curve measurement on Spezza's stick. Why in god's name would Wilson pull that trick out of his hat? So he could win a game in March? That's a one trick pony. Let's say a year or 5 years down the line the Leafs are in the playoffs and are down by a goal in Game 7. Wilson will never be able to do that again.

With that, I'm pretty apt to take the side of the media as opposed to any coach, but Wilson, as smarmy as he is, hasn't really done much wrong.

what would be smart is to send down gustavson to the marlies and let js giguere play as many games as possible, u need to play a goalie who will give you a chance at winning a game, js giguere has went to the stanley cup finals twice and winnin the stanley cup once, he knows what it takes to make the playoffs and win in the playoffs, if toronto really want to make the playoffs giguere should start every game and play gustvsson when giguerre is having a bad game, ron wilson is horrible,

JS hasn't really proved himself to be better than gusty in Toronto.. yeah he got 2 shut outs, but he wasn't making and marty brodeure saves. I think gusty has as much promise as JS.. i just think his rebounds are scary, as well as his sight (he always looses the puck). and those are all rookie mistakes he'll get through by the end of the year.

i agree with you about those 3 games. Giggy should have been in net, But i also want to make sure Gusty is developing, because he is our future goalie. And the truth is JS is out of his prime.
So should JS be our starter next year? Yes, absolutely. but we're not making the playofs this year, so call up the little guys. LEt hanson and stalberg stay on the team, and put gusty in net, so they can gain a little bit of experience for next year. But yes, next year is a different story.

My brother played pro hockey with Wilson and he had no integrity or grit as a player then, and has little as a coach now. Have some class, Wilson, you ass. No point in getting annoyed with a question, think about it, and go ahead and do something constructive. Fighting with reporters is pretty poor waste of a press conference. Your methods are not working and your coaching style is almost useless up here in this market. Have some dignity, man!
