hey that is cool. how much did it cost to get it set up for tri power? im lookin into a 65 falcon futura 4 door to fix up for my kids so when they are in high school they got a cool clasic car.ph and i got a question, they say blue valve cover=`s a 140 and red vaulve cover means 170. is that true or no? the one im looking at has blue vaulve cover.
Spending all that good old earned cash on that great engine but then using that piece of shit $3 Fram oil filter... so some research and you'll find out that Fram is one of the worst oil filters out there...
@GGGRRiny is it realy i see them all over the place now i allways thought they were decent its hard to find anything else without makin autozone or where ever special order one from like k&n
I had to mute the music just to watch this. Why is it that 25% of car vids have this awful/overused song, another 25% have Prodigy, another 25% have Daft Punk and the other 25% use Godsmack? For fuck's sake, be original.
@zapwatt Thank you very much !!! I thought I was the only one who noticed that shit ! I like to call that type of music DOUCHEBAG ROCK ,but your right all these car guys sure like to use it .
had several comets ; 3 -64`s . 71 , 73 . mavericks ; 70 ,72 . 74 . the 71 comet was pretty radical ; pinto r&p steering . front suspension , factory spring towers removed , 67 mustang 9 in rear (bb) . had it tagged & insured real street car ! NEVER ANY PROBLEMS ! still want to build a 6 or 4 cylinder . my 80 cr vic is a 2 door . once again a nice car you have .
is that a 200 or 250 cu. in ? the 250 has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as a 302 . saw a 65 mustang with a 250 with 3 - 1 barrel car , 4 spd , a ford 8 in rear end out of a v8 maverick with a 3.80 gear . ran 14.2 in the quarter mile ! like your falcon ! a blue oval man for over 40 years ! just sold my drag car ; 71 comet ; warmed over 429 , c6 a/t . ran mid 10`s ! 80 cr vic ; tow car ,5.0 non h.o. runs 15.0 . all 1/4 mile !
its a 200, thanks for the comment. WOW 71 comet w/ 429 .thats awesome. I had a 71 comet GT about 20 years ago. the engine was tired so I built a mild 302 for it . 4 barrell , small crane cam , three angle valve job. headers. had a three speed with a hurst shifter and an 8" with 3.55 gears. i bought it with fresh paint black with orange stripes. man i sure miss that car.
I purchased a very simalr setup 3 years ago, never installed it. I'm going to get started on my 65, have any pointers regarding the lifters n push rods.
thanks for the comments the head and block are 78. good luck with the 2v setup you should notice a increase in power. the intake is from offenhauser. both the intake and the header were bought from clifford inline performance. i will try to add vids soon . i am currently doing front end and transmission repairs
your video has made me want to start my restoration again I too have owned my 1962 Falcon since 1996 after inheriting it from a relative I have slowly been buying parts from the States and I am member of the Falcon Cub of America Thanks For inspiring me again could you ad more footage of the exhaust setup as it sounds Great 1 thanks John.
Noticed the Classic Inlines dual roller timing set. Awesome! What year is the head on your 200? I've got my shortblock done on my '68 rebuild. Just bought a '77 head and am going to direct mount a 2V. That's a very clean looking engine. Nicely Done!
@chsalabama111 nice the one person who when some asks something they don't call you an idiot an be a total jerk but nice motor I am putting a ford inline6 300 in a 77 dodge tradesman van that should be interesting
no they are a direct bolt on. the rims i am useing originally came off of a toyota or nissan 240 z . they are 13" X 5.5" with 3 1/2" backspaceing. I have seen spacer plates sold on e bay before.
I seem to have the same rims as you do in this vid. but when i put them on, they dont really fit like the stock ones. is there a spacer plate or the studs have to be changed for them to fit?

The 144, 170, 200 & 250 were all "small" sixes. the 240-300 were all "big" sixes. They were all very good engines

the falcon 6 has always been a beautiful engine
its just a shame that the BA and up engines look kinda cheap and tacky
kinga303 2 years ago
i dont think that is a 64. they started with 7 main bearing in 65. 64 would have been 4 main.

Iam building a similar 144 motor for a hydroplane
what is your static compression ratio?
boatdude182 3 years ago
about 165 hp up from about 105 stock. with a broader torque curve. runs like stock v8 but with much more appeal when you pop the hood.
chsalabama111 3 years ago
How many HP???
