the hair bands that you are using look like they are made from cotton, I use to use bands similiar to those, but no longer do, because cotton strips the hair of it's natural moisture

@Tasharasvids I was going to say that. Wwhat I do is use a long strands of fabric and braid it along my hair kind of like you would with extension braids except with fabric ( preferably stain or silk) you can make your hair thick or thin, dries really fast and works really nicely for me.

@xsobbingx I'm a natural BSL and I do a protective style a good 1/2 of the year. Though that's just my hair, it needs that extra bit of protection for the winter but I'm usually running around and whatnot in the Summer, so my hair is getting that natural heat without using heating methods and my hair gets better circulation. Hope this helps you ^^ Oh and I hardly put products in my hair, just a 2-3 day wash day and a leave-in conditioner and oil. AfroVeda has really good natural products.
