to all of you, Hank Sr. was pure genius. i doubt that anyone, in the context of their time, will surpass what that great artist accomplished in his time. he was prolific, sensitive, intelligent, articulate, and extremely talented. i don't think anyone can write or sing as expressively as Hank Sr. did. he was, and in some ways, still is THE best.

i understand what you say. and i thought about that when i wrote this comment. the war was a bloody mess. so i ask the question, why do artists use that flag as some kind of symbol for what they do artistically? obviously, hank III does not need that symbol to convey his rebellious nature. his lyrics and singing do all the work. the flag is still controversial. yes it represents a peoples struggle, but, come on, it represents a people wishing to own their right to enslave other humans.
