  • cnt he fly jst from the ground?

  • @MrLowAltitude very cool :)

  • Video of his new wing with more than twice the power of the old one: /watch?v=j5J3z5CK9H0&feature=related

  • DEAR SANTA....YOU OWE ME!!!!

  • lucky sonovgun i have to dream about what he id doing everynight.any one reading this i have my own idea except i just need his rocket booster i`m thinking on making a flight suit to give people the chance to experience the dream of flight.

please thumbs up to keep my dreams going and for support i already have a design.

  • Take off from the ground, or STFU.

  • Imagine showing up to party like this!! Better than any Ferrari

  • New goal, vertical flight.

  • @MisterSensational This video is from 2005, he had two JetCat P160 jet engines (16kg thrust each) mounted unter the wing.

Currently, he flies it with four JetCat P200 engines. He does loopings and aerobatic maneuvers now ;)

  • redbull should sponser this guy.

  • Stupid science and their sexy technology, I am gonna pray for angel wings and Jesus will give me some...he always answers my prayers...seriously

  • @kcido14 He obviously answered Yves Rossy's :D

  • @morrieD I am pretty sure hard work, training and lots of education "answered" his prayers :D

  • @kcido14 you´re kind of fanatic or what? :D really funny :D

  • I dream about it

  • The jet pack will never be invented in United States, because Obama taxes private jets.

  • @kokocipher thats right...its all ObAma's fault

  • Dude the Centurions do exist!

  • If he farts, will that kick in the afterburner?

  • @cwazny1 how do you think he does loops?

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • who'll be the first jet man to break the sound barrier?

  • All the manliness, all the awesome, all the balls of steel. Gone, the instant he put his name on there in Comic fucking Sans!!!

  • Damn i want his jets

  • Now he needs a front mounted turbine/'s so that he can vtol :)

  • he should enter the red bull air race :)

  • Give him a sword and he can have his own Rocket Knight Adventures.

  • wants

  • Suisse Power :D

  • couldn't help but think "oh shit!" when he jumped out..........

  • What is the song? Also, that's just an awesome person.

  • es un sueño, el mejor trabajo

  • Whoa this guys like Superman.

  • He describes it like he just took a short bike ride, I get nervous on a tall ladder, this guy has total balls of steel.

  • @deanprigg Hahaha, I get pretty nervous on tall ladders as well.

  • @UberLifeTroll Hello, America? All the straight ones left France & moved to Switz ;)

  • @morrieD Switzerland is gayer because they have more than 1 nationality in their country. That's really gay.

  • @morrieD

Don't be silly, there's no such stereotype that the Americans and French don't get along. It's Britain and France.

Saying the US and France don't get along as a stereotype is like saying the young son is arguing with his father's next door neighbour, too foes that have been arguing long before the son was born.

  • swiss manz tawking french ffs!

  • @Rat69Fink We have four national languages here in Switzerland, German, French, Italian & Romansh. A French person could tell you from his accent that he's from Switzerland, especially when he's (more) excited after his flight.

  • @morrieD I counted 5 langwages son!

  • He's ironman!

  • Totally cool!

  • Lol comic sans on this thing. Hilarious.

  • Yves Rossy -- aka JetMan will be flying the Grand Canyon this Friday on May 6th at 9:00AM!!

  • @tannint cool! I'll be there!

NOT! wish I could be though. He flew over Fribourg, Switzerland a few weeks back. My hero!

  • Ûhm_ÁñýÓÑÉ_wännå_chÄt_wIth_mÈ_ì_fÈél_sÓ_lOÑely_tOdÃý≡

  • Now I'm ready to die.

  • cool, i am going to wait till this comes with in flight beverages and a movie....maybe a stewardess...

  • maybe a elastic band in the ground dunno mmm the parachut is the best bet or a mechanism for rotating the force to the ground and the power down to ground?

  • I would've gone with the nickname "Rocketman," but that probably wouldn't "fly" with Elton John.

  • If you want a volunteer for a landing that does not depend on a parachute; MEMEME :] ... btw it can be done with a kind-of-harrier jump jet dispositive

  • if he could master take off then i would buy this

governments funding for this man please Switzerland

  • Yves Rossy is now seriously high up on my list of action heroes.

  • Magnifique.. the best ever! SwissMade

  • and the good lord grabs you a shoves you through the air, its fantastic...

  • Poor man's jet. Can't afford a G6.

  • With this can he fly straight up or is he trying to make it do that?

  • TRY LANDING WITH OUT A PARACHUTE LOL

    THIS GUY'S AWESOME! AND EXPLORER!

  • Yves Rossy, the comic sans loving jet-man :)

  • This shit Is so fucking cash

  • "IAM THE FUSELAGE"...balls of steel, a dream...

  • Voilà un homme qui mérite vraiment la dénomination de STAR !

Bravo la Suisse ! (from France)

  • holy shit this is fucking awesome

  • I wonder if he made the wings pop out not just for size convenience, but also because it's cool

  • i see this in the near future military use

  • Crazy mofo!

  • COBRAAAAA!

  • His new machine is much cooler. But it only has enough fuel for a 6 minute flight.

  • Just need to make an Ironman like suit for looks

  • This aint buzz lightyear its IRON MAN!!

  • Needs VTOL.

  • This NEEDS to be in the next Batman & James Bond movies!

  • buzz lightyear ftw!

  • Jetman has a new website with videos and info, check it out at jetman . ch!

  • @jetmanofficial thanks, I will post that link in the description

I originally put this video up and translated it only because I wanted the wider (Englsoh-speaking) workd to become aware of the amazing feats of Yves Rossy.

And then he flew the Channel...fantastic!

  • Comment removed

  • what about Pulsejets or RAmjets? to dangerous? unstable maybe? just a thought maybe cheaper

  • @Cthrilla: Consider that they don't work below about Mach 1.

  • iron man is alive

  • Thats not flying, its falling, with style!

  • Buzz Lightyear

  • "It's like there's a big handle in your back, and the good Lord takes you by it and shoves you through the air, it's fantastic!"

It's like you are God's superman action figure. :D

  • I can't see how anyone would give this a thumbs down.

  • so much closer to being Iron man *thumbs up*

  • i wanna fly how mush this one i wanna buy it

    contact me

  • you are crazy gooooooood man that is incredible

  • This vid is made infinetly better if you say "To Infinity... AND BEYOND!" right as he jumps out of the plane.

  • hahahahahahaha, this is funny and creative, and maybe workable

    good job,

  • only? :DDD this is insane xDDD

  • build one that will take me from US to EU in a half a day,and you'll have a sale my way.

  • the future of paratroopers? they're only 190 000 a unit

  • WOW... This is really insane. Totally insane.

  • no parachute? wow, balls of titanium..

i wonder how he opens those wings though.. opening one at a time is just asking for a crazy spiral..

  • @superhornet59 very true about the wings... i would put a couple of actuators on there... and in sync, for sure!

  • I assmued they would be on simple spring loaded catches.

  • where can i buy one?

  • Anyone knows who plays the vid. song?

  • The song is Captain Sweetheart by Dozer

  • Oh cool... thought it was some other stoner rock band...

Only heard a few of those guys, thanks!

  • I'm suprised that he even got off the ground with BALLS the size of his!

  • Yves could make so much money by selling copies of this to people.

  • Buzzzz Lightyear!!! i knew he was realz!

  • This guy's got balls!

    Absolutely insane.

  • cool

  • Would like to see him do it by taking off from the ground, unassisted. That would be even more spectacular. Then landing, parahaps without parachuting. That would be amazing.

  • @upcycle yea, like thats realistic...how do you sugguest he get off the ground? run 80 mph? or how about he straps on some rollerblades and hopes for the best?

  • #Venzilla, it would be more of a vertical ascent and descent. It could incorparate a few step walk/run to get some horizontal motion. And once the body is off the ground, the jets can be rotated to begin horizontal flight, kind of like a Harrier Jet. But because of the light weight nature of the jet man configuration, the entire wing and jet engines can be rotated. It can be hand crontroled with computer assist.

  • @upcycle the precise programming, the minimal storage space on the vehicle, and obviously the amount of money one would have to pour into the project...sure, I'm not saying its impossible, But I don't expect to see that kind of progress for quite some time. I can just imagine the headache this would cause for air traffic controllers...

  • @Venzilla. It is interesting to note that because of the rapid development in technology, such as the micro sized jet engines used by Jetman, residuals of off the shelf engines for remote control planes, we will likely see variations of micro jet planes that will be able to lift a human. I am invisioning a variaon of the Jetman configuration, which would be kind of like a sled with wings, that the jetman would lay on top of., and take off from. This would allow it to roll for lift and descent.

  • Perhaps jet plane sled would weigh about 50 pounds. and by using carbon fiber and or titanium, can bring that weight down by half or more. To further fuel economy, wings be retractable (instead of folding)

  • I hear you upcycle, hopefully one day we'll see this in our lifetime! :)

  • Don't be so dismissive. We need rocket-ranger type technology!

  • I know it sounds ghetto, but he could get a stretcher type thing to lie down on, then get up to a high RPM, release the break, and he could easily get enough lift and takeoff before the end of the runway

  • he might also use pulling system like used on aircraft carriars to launch jet planes. Perhaps it would be 100 feet or less?

  • pretty amazing technology

  • Well being a technology god as yourself you should know there's quite a big difference between whatever this thing is and a UAV. The maneuverability and relatively straight patter this thing flies would be quite the target. Even though it would be useless to shoot it down as it at best would have one or two large explosives andddd thats about it..

  • well good thing johnny fuckin war hero's here to tell us about the next great military weapon. think about how fast anyone in one of these things could get shot down over a battlefield and how they could carry virtually no defensive system it would be a complete waste to use these in war. wake up chief.

  • Actually the radar footprint and the surface area that could be attacked would be extremely small. So that pretty much eliminates missiles and chaff. Also have you heard of many successfull attacks on UAVs?

  • @TechnologyGod I have, they are called AGMs. I have a friend in the air force that operates UAVs. amazing what we can do now. Soon there wont be any human casualitys on our side: we get the skill and intuition of a human operater, and the technological advantages of one of the fastest planes out there...

  • THIS WILL end up for military use mainly.

  • could also end up on 2nd generation ultralite hangliders or personal aircraft

  • rofl at landing! ouch

  • How does he keep from burning his feet?

  • Why the stupid music. Is there no culture anymore?

  • This guy is not nuts, he HAS nuts!

  • THIS GUY IS NUTS! very good video

  • I had this idea a long time ago but mine was a hard case, padded enclosure that closed around you. My idea was for the arms to go inside the wings where you would have handles that you grip like dumbells and the legs were to go into the tail section. It also had foot petals for the rear elevators and rudder, and featured landing gear for STOL. I couldent ever afford to build it though as each engine runs about 8 grand, and I lack the knowlege of moulding composite materials such as carbon fiber.

  • @TechnologyGod

Control of the aircraft would be through means of motorcycle grips on the handle for throttle, the handle rotation would be for controlling ailerons. Also the feet would controll the empennage flight surfaces. This would allow for maximum controll and aerodynamics. Not sure about weight and fuel storage though.

  • Wouldent be any more difficult to land than a model jet airplane, people have been doing that fairly safely for years. If there was ever a problem I imagine you could ditch or use a parachute. It's not to far out to imagine that what I describe is possible, epecially with things like unpowered gliders around.

  • This guy's my hero! If this isn't flight then I don't know what is and I'd love to try it. Too bad about the channel crossing today but at least he's okay, try it again tomorrow...way to go Yves!!!

  • This was the first model he built that could hold level flight. It was damaged, and the second one he built with a narrower wingspan and four turbines, crossed the English Channel, which I think you agree qualifies as "flight".

  • @morrieD

his newest model i saw on a show last week he can actually fly he had to fly in motion with another personal airplane when he jumped out of the plain he fell hunddreds of feet below it and he flew UP hundreds of feet and circled around to get even with it !

  • instead of using your body as the fuselage why not just build a very tiny jet aircraft that can take off under it's own power instead of having to get a ride from an airplane every time you want to use the thing.

  • its still a prototype right??

  • I guess

  • I want to have a go! I hope he remembered his earplugs!

  • the swiss are pretty crazy after all (and I am swiss :P)

  • @swissguy123

    I'm swiss and I don't think that's crazy. I think it's genius.

  • I think its awsome too, its incredible

  • @swissguy123 wow, i'd never have guessed, swissguy123 ;p

  • he's climbing, flying loops, crossing the Englosh Channel, etc.

yeah, right normal skydiving. Normally done with jet engines?

  • The really f'ing amazing flying jetpack man with wings!!! Wow.

  • the person below me is dumb

  • I want to build one so much... i don't care if i have to spend enough to buy a small house on it, because I'm going to use it for my commute to work, and officially be the most nerdy AND most eccentric person in the city.

  • i WILL have a pair of these one day

  • all thats missing is some rollerblades on this dude.

  • Way better than that chris angel dude

  • AWESOME !!! , What a rush !!

  • it's Buzz Lightyear, haha!

  • thats a good one lol

  • That is realy cool man well done love the work

  • BUZZ LIGHTYEAR IRL

  • 3:15 epic

  • الله وناسه

  • c'est trés cool

  • Cool, but the Pilatus PC-6 is just as cool! Love it =)
