@mracdcman2 Yeah i think its an Ibanez JEM, Steve vai's signature models.. You can pick one up for around £1000. The gold hardware JEM's are better and go up to £2500. There are also JEM 777's which i think are yellow.. All seem to deliver an amazing sound

@AmigoFiell As an engineer I conclude it's not much the guitar that makes up the tone more than it is the processing. Synclavier for example, it can produce any tone you can imagine with over 10,000 pre programmed audio samples. No wonder it was 250,000 bucks in 1980's. Anyway's all that aside you can even turn a cheap fender into a rock guitar, when you run it through marshalls. Example, Marshall Plexi's.
