Thanks so much for that great video, he was just so amazing, but i guess, like a lot of painters in the south of france in the 60's, he didn't quite nail it in his own lifetime , in terms of money etc.. don't read me wrong , his songs and nature go way, way beyond all that, but he probably felt his songs never had an audience , ....They do now !!!
One can't help but wonder, how many other brilliant artists remain unknown and unheard of to the rest of us, because they don't fit the mainstream profile of what a recording artist should be. For what it's worth, you were special, Nick.....
i've thought of that lately, i feel nick drakes music is of a rare vibrant creativity, as with artists like tom waits, silvio rodriguez (in their different aesthetics)but surely talent can't be so 'unevenly distributed' that we talk of a handful of 5 or 10 recording artists as the true 'greats' on the planet. there could be 100s more who wrote in their spare time and have produced wonderful music that they don't share with an audience beyond friends n family. for this i view myspace positively..
Lovely video, with some pictures I hadn't seen before. Thankyou so much.... what a genius the man was. If only he knew how much we are all enjoying his music, hopefully he does... RIP Nick.
I heard this song on the radio a couple of days ago. It was the first choice of Tom Barman from the belgian indy-rock band dEUS on Studio Brussels. I was driving on the highway and the sun was going down.
This man really knew what music was. Sad story but an extraordinary musician. A prayer on itself. He really touched me.
This Blake pastes the same fucking message to every Goddamn Drake video

well done Keith. An excellent tribute. Nick Drake was about 40 years ahead of the music scene in 1970.

My favourite solo artist of all time. Maybe my favourite artist as well. He crafts beauty into music.

I´m personally not really sure if it was suicide, just because he selled not enough records?
But it doesn´t matter, I think Nick was miles ahead of his time
