  • His advice is quite accurate, fat is essential if a low carb diet is to be effective. Eating low fat and low carb is not very effective( eg. Paleo) for losing weight because you wind up getting sugar and carb cravings. I personally find that eating this way is a lot more effective in weight control and also appetite control than any other diet.

  • hey, fist you remind me of John Malkovich ...its a compliment because his way are pretty cool and he articulate's well.

alright, I'm on my second week of induction and lost 6 pounds... I only have 15 left to loose so my question is: should I stay on induction until I reach my goal and then goto phase 4? I'd rather loose my weight rather quickly. I train with weight lifting and cardio so I probably loose more fat than the scale shows (since muscle weigh more than fat)

  • That's funny! Never heard Malkovich before, but I have gotten John C. Reilly. :D

If you like Induction and want to stay there until you reach goal, I see no problem with it. However, when you hit your goal weight, be careful not to add back carbs too quickly or all the weight you lost will come pouring back on again.

  • what about sugar free jello for snacks?

  • Sure, if you like that kind of thing. Personally, I'd prefer something with a lot more fat and richness like sugar-free, low-carb chocolates.

  • I found a low-carb yogurt at Kroger. 3 net carbs. Have you heard of this brand?

  • I don't really eat yogurt, but that Kroger brand sounds pretty good if it only has 3g net carbs.

  • What about a table spoon of low carb ketchup during induction? Also, did it ruin my whole day since I was drinking diet green tea with asparLame? How much exercise do you get each week?

  • LC ketchup is okay, but it's better if you skip it. And no, you didn't mess up drinking the diet green tea with aspartame. As for exercise, I was doing daily cardio during my weight loss. But now I lift weights twice a day and get in fun cardio activities like volleyball, basketball, etc. each week. :D

  • @livinlowcarbman so you are saying meat for breakfast, meat for lunch and meat for dinner? i dont get it, did i miss something??!

  • I love you two:) I actually lost 50 lbs on Atkins back in 1998, so I know that it works quick. I can't exercise for a few months due to an injury, how many pounds do you think I could loose in a months time if I stay on induction without the activity?

  • CONGRATS on your success! KEEP IT UP!!! Don't worry about not being able to exercise right now. It depends on what your starting height and weight is, but if you start low-carb then your body will begin burning fat. GO FOR IT!!!

  • A little constructive criticism for you, Jimmy...Seven minutes before addressing the topic given in your title is too long. I watched for those seven minutes, so you're doing something right :)

  • But were you entertained, Martin? :) Plus, I wanted the title to include what I talked about in the beginning part of this final video in my Induction series, but YouTube severely limits the length of your titles. :( THANK YOU for your very kind comments. KEEP WATCHING, buddy!

  • Great video :). I'm inducting as we speak. One thing I would like to mention that I have was having trouble with is bacon and sausages of all types. In the super market almost all of these contain nitrates(banned from Atkins for good reasons). I had to go to health food stores to find them nitrate free. So for anyone here that loves bacon like I do CHECK THE INGREDIENTS! :)Thanks again guys. Keep up the great work

  • Inducting? Are you glowing yet? Just kidding! :P

Great point about the nitrate-free meats and it's always a good idea to read your labels. They put so many hidden sugars in MEATS. UGH!

  • I'm giving low-carb a try and on second day of induction. I hope this works while I'm vacation in Tempe, AZ this week!

Thanks for the information, you two!

  • It's our pleasure. If you STICK WITH IT no matter what, there's no reason why it won't work to help you shed the pounds and keep your health in tip-top shape. :)

  • A gentleman my husband works for lost over 200 hundred pounds on low carb only to go off of it and put it back and then some. His excuse was that low carb is so limited and boring. Not so if you are creative. I can make a substitute for just about anything I am craving. It comes down to being determined to eat the right things. Again thanks to people like you they learn that low carb people learn what is acceptable and what isn't.

    Love you two, Anita

  • THANKS for getting it, Anita! Once you start livin' la vida low-carb and experience what it's REALLY all about, you'll never eat any other way again. :D

  • So true but the thing is. I don't WANT to eat the high carb foods. I love being able to fit into my clothes and not have to pull out garment after garment and tossing them on the bed because I am too fat to get into something I use to wear comfortably. That is a thing of the past for me! Yippee

  • EXACTLY!!!

  • thanks you guys. very hepful

  • We aim to please. :D

  • Thanks for this video jimmy!..this was encouraging.

  • YEAH!!! We like to hear that. :D

  • Awesome I needed a refresher Jimmy. Cause sometimes it gets a little repetitious. Thank you, thank you!

    Sabz

  • It can be repetitious, It can be repetitious, It can be repetitious, It can be repetitious...okay, I think you get the idea. :D THANKS Sabz!

  • Excellent video Jimmy! I have really enjoyed these past few talking about do's and don'ts good information, and you don't have to attack this way of eating like the Marines hitting the beaches (like I did the first time around). Anyway keep up the great work you two!

  • It's been fun sharing the basics of low-carb Induction. We'll be hitting some other topics next, but this was GREAT! :D

  • Hi Jimmy, have you lost weight buddy? or is it a new hair cut or something?

  • Both...I got a haircut earlier in the week and I've lost a little bit of weight since I've changed over my method of eating to counteract a bit of reactive hypoglycemia I've been dealing with. Check out my lowcarbmenu dote blogspot dote come for more info. :D THANKS!

  • n1ce buddy, glad to see you back on the move and looking trimmer and healthier too :o) BTW Weightloss is going good for me, 15kg down and 9kg to go. Woowho!

  • OUTSTANDING!!! Keep it up!

  • I like massive amounts of beef. Steak makes me a jolly good fellow!

  • YEPPERS!
