....nah...the one from the movie was better but then I am against anything that has no strings and thus no soul or sweat to create it.......I'll tolerate dance music if it has a bass line like it did in the movie version ...but a....THUMP THUMP THUMP sound....nah.....thats chick music and when they move thier hips...WOW...I'll drink and just watch them.....for the record.....this womans remake of this song has credit.........SHE HAS AWESOME VOICE......she obviously doesn't smoke....*smile*
this version of Knock On Wood by Mary Griffin is not bad, but it would have been very nice to see Amii Stewart perform the song. That being said it would also be very nice to here her sing the 1979 version, even if she lip sink the song it would still look great, and one more thing lets not forget the lime green headdress outfit that goes with the song.
I am actually pretty impressed with this version of Knock On Wood. While nothing will top the great Amii Stewart's version, this one is not bad at all. A good modern twist and Mary has a good strong voice and can belt out the song very nicely. A really good effort.
this version is ok, the Amii Version is amazing, why couldn't they use her version? those drums and the crazy bass and that effect sound before she says "i'm in love baby" is what made the 70s...I like Marry Griffin (especially her hit Without you) but she missed with one she should have done the original.
a great compliment to Amii Stewart in the credits of the 54 having Mary Griffin wearing her outfit and singing the song. well back to my point, Mary Griffin in the credits is cast as a "Disco Star" great compliment to Amii. well i guess im the only one that got that.
My father Barry produced this song with Amii. I'm not 100% sure but I think she was asked but turned them down. She has lived in Italy for a while now, and keeps a lower profile. She doesn't look that different to what she did in 1979 (God, I was only 2 years old back then), so that wasn't a problem.
Well, maybe they wanted a new twist on the song. (Has not seen movie yet) Besides, the movie is set in past, and Amii might be to lod to play her past self acuurately now. Just a guess..
Okay, here's th $64M question ... why didn't they get Amii Stewart to make an appearance and sing this song? NO ONE CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF AMII STEWART!!!
does anyone have mary griffins knock on wood from the soundtrack cd of 54 if so post it

The best thing to do is enjoy the music. Why try to figure out why someone didn't play a part. Both are great artists
