Once she blew up, Michelle and Kelly didn't get the backing they deserved, which is why Kelly left and is now signed with a new record label and working on her next album. She also did a hit song with David Guetta called "When Love Takes Over." It was a hit all over the place. Check it out.

I think that Aida was a big role for Michelle to make her broadway debut with. She has a good voice, but when you follow other people in the same role you have to be able to make it yours. Unfortunatley that did not happen for her. In my opinion. I do give her credit for the atempt.
This was so long ago. For beginners it takes time for them to get really comfortable on stage doing acting and singing. So, it wasn't horrible. I know R&B haters will use this to take a crack at black R&B singers as a whole, but whatever. Theater transitions. It's not going to sound the same as a classically trained vocalist.
i saw her perform this on broadway a few years back... needless to say, i waited backstage for her to come out.. she told me i couldn't take a picture "with" her but "of" her.. not the friendliest of people. needless to say, i was hurt then being a young fan of her's.. and her as a gospel artist. she did way too many rips and curves during the show.. i guess u can take the girl from destiny's child but can't take the destiny's child out the girl...

Michelle ya lets be honest here she kinda sucked i mean she had absolutley no energy and she wasnt even mad she didnt at all play this part well im disapointed that they picked her to play Aida i mean come on Aida! huge role and very hard character to play only few can pull it off perfect

I agree, I just watched a video of Heather doing this song and I felt Heather had soooo much more emotion and power to her voice, I like Michelle but she sounded really young and didnt show the emotion needed for this song!!!

I like this better, actually. I respect the others, but I dont like a lot of loud yelling. I think this was strong yet gentle. And girl has some muscles! Peep the cuts in her arm!

I think that Aida was a big role for Michelle to make her broadway debut with. She has a good voice, but when you follow other people in the same role you have to be able to make it yours. Unfortunatley that did not happen for her. In my opinion. I do give her credit for the atempt.

This was so long ago. For beginners it takes time for them to get really comfortable on stage doing acting and singing. So, it wasn't horrible. I know R&B haters will use this to take a crack at black R&B singers as a whole, but whatever. Theater transitions. It's not going to sound the same as a classically trained vocalist.

i saw her perform this on broadway a few years back... needless to say, i waited backstage for her to come out.. she told me i couldn't take a picture "with" her but "of" her.. not the friendliest of people. needless to say, i was hurt then being a young fan of her's.. and her as a gospel artist. she did way too many rips and curves during the show.. i guess u can take the girl from destiny's child but can't take the destiny's child out the girl...

What the fuck is she doing?? Is she trying to explain everything with her hands and moves..? Not to mention the silly R&B things she's doing with her voice...stick to that Michelle. Don't do any musical again (or at least, take some serieus acting lessons and vocal training)..

OMG!! really?!?!?! you have no idea how much that fascinates me. im honestly not being sarcastic HOW COULD MICHELLE GET THE ROLE OVER AALIYAH?!?! first off, michelle is a mezzo and aaliyah is an alto if i ever heard one aaliyah has like a whole octave more of range than michelle. omg, this pisses me off. i would've loved to see aaliyah do this before her passing... thanks for the tip, i just had to spazz a little.......lol

i know. even so, my point is, how could ANY casting director choose michelle over aaliyah at ANY point in time when the show ran? it's illogical to me. but, hey, it's no secret that hiring celebrities for limited engagements will sell out a show for weeks, so........... i guess it was the times.
