  • they are 2 completely different sports. It is hard to compare them. Both require a lot of strength and endurance though.

  • Yes,playing without full body armor is really for pussies !

  • @lema245 yea because in soccer clearly some players purpose is to engage one another dangerously and not keep the ball in play.Without full body armor lineman and recievers/runningbacks would have a good chance to DIE.And even with the 'full body armor' which has no leg or stomach protection if you don't give your best, there is a good chance you will end up wounded.Even rugby is safer than american football.

What a retard you are kid...

  • this is football not futball

  • haha o futebol chuta a bola e o futebol americano agarra a bola... quem é gay? aehaueheuha

  • european soccer is gay, the soccer i play is like fucking hockey

  • Solid instruction - thanks for the insight!

  • Soccer and American Football are not in the same league.

American Football and Rugby are quite similar, and they are 'both' hard contact sports.

I play both American Football and Rugby, and I think the reason why American Football is not as popular world wide is because it has the word "American" in it, and all us Old World types are jealous.

If American Football was called Gridiron, after Gridiron Football, like Rugby is after Rugby Football, then more people around the world would play it!

  • soccers for pussys............ its the most boring sport to watch and i think everyone here and everywhere in the U.S.A can agree with tht lol my schools physical trainer says he hates having to go to the soccers games he says he could sleep theres never anything exiting happening its jst a bunch of guys running up and down a field passing the ball ALL GAME

  • american football is quite cool, actually i love it :D but, when people are talking about about american football should be more rough than soccer, isn't nessesarily true. cause, in an american football match you know you'll be tackled very often throughout the game ..you just can't prepare for such things in soccer, cause it aint quite as normal!

  • @DKWiking No sorry. it's completely true, football is rougher than soccer. idk wtf ur saying.

  • @IXAMXNOTXDEAD okay ..imagine you're beeing pushed in your back ..it will certainly hurt twice as mutch if you're not prepared for it, as if you where prepared! it's somehow the same thing with football and soccer. in soccer you CAN get hurt. in football you WILL get hurt.

  • @DKWiking Well, here's the problem. if your being pushed from behind in football, it's called clipping, and it's a penalty. so football players aren't expecting it. 2. If your throwing your 200+ pound body against 200+ pound guys (which is mostly muscle, so everyone's running at crazy fast speeds) for an hour, it won't even compare to if you get unexpetedly bumped 3 times in 90 minutes by a guy a little under 170 pounds (which way's less than a 15 year old linebacker).

  • @IXAMXNOTXDEAD yea, i know i might be quite tough to play football ..but, when you're playing that game, you're wearing helmets, and lots of other gear ..in soccer, you're wearing nothing at all. and don't you tell me that 3 unexpected bumps throughout a match can't be rough ..in my time as a soccer player (bout 6 years) i've broken my arm, foot, hand, collarbone and had a lot of sprains! but well, probably just week bones ..

  • @DKWiking Again you don't know wtf your saying. your not wearing "lots of other gear" you have a helmet yes, it dosnt stop a concussion, it dosnt stop the pain. you have shoulder pads, which cover chest and up. a tackle in football is made chest down. You want to talk about no equiment being dangerous talk about rugby not soccer! wtf? and a lot of sprains, get real people play through football games with sprained ankles. and i'll bet you only fractured thoes cuz you don't know how to fall.

  • @IXAMXNOTXDEAD have you ever had a sprain? many of the sprains i've had, hurted at least twice as mutch as the actual broken bones ..and no! you wouldent ever be able to play a match with such injurys. or, if you did, it would just be plain stupid. you talk about i've never learned to fall? why should i have learned to fall? then tell me how you can fall corectly, when some fool makes a slide tackle from behind, and hits your feet instead of the ball?

  • @DKWiking Yes i've sprained my ankle, i've sprained my wrist plenty of times. i push through it. i've played through games with broken toes, and broken fingers. You just man up, there's nothing stupid about it. How do you fall properly? In football people dive headfirst at your knees, blind sind you while their running full speed. charge full speed at you and drop their shoulder into your chest, and your arguing soccer's just as rough because someone slides into your feet and trips you?

  • @IXAMXNOTXDEAD so, you're telling me that it aint stupid to play with anything broken? :S my soccer trainer would kill me, if i even asked to play in such condition! you can't man up with a sprained ancle in soccer ..you don't know what you're talking about! sometimes the roughness in soccer reminds me of rugby (and yes i'm serious). omg, just watch some premier league.

  • @evidentmagicman not to get you down or anything but that is technically what a Full back is

  • you r fucking dumb

  • Offensive Lineman tips::

    1. Stay lower than the defender

    2. grab the grass - (squeeze your toes of foot you don't want to lead with)

    3. Third step wins

    4. 6" steps (any longer and it forces you to stand up)

  • On your demenstration, do you really want your guy snapping his head back? you want your head up, but you also want it forward....atleast for blocking bigger guys.

  • soccer is a great sport! ..... for girls

  • so sad that football in germany is not that famous like in the USA everybody is playing gay soccer

  • @lu933964

We got the same issue in Denmark :( But I'm playing football anyway, d-line :)

  • "I survived the himebacholypse and all I got was this lousy shirt!"

  • Don' listen to this guy, He's a quitter plain and simple.

  • thanks i think this is a little more accurate than what my coach said

  • What your coach says is whats right. No matter what.

  • your right about that

  • your wr will get killed, ive been playing coner for 7 years and ive learned how to read that play when i was 9

  • Ha offensive line doesnt really have to do so much with what defense is blitzing what gap man. Obviously you gotta be aware and ready to read and react, but if your line executes the progression on point, then your D should be taken care of no matter what they are throwing at you. This vid is too sick, lots of good info.

  • Great tip see what you hit! My son just started playing football and I will make sure to give him this tip. Thanks

  • this is not crap in fact its helpful i dont know about u but i PLAY football, and i LIVE football

    and he is right

  • also if you noticed, he is wearing a SDSU football shirt. where to i live? San Diego.

where does he coach San Diego state university

  • U R WRONG.

  • ITS A DRIVE BLOCK

im a all american line thw plays for sweetwater high school.

this style of drive blocking works

i won the offensive linemen of the year for my school, and southbay district. He wont go anywhere with proper technique....

  • i hope its not a sneak. or inside dive cause their screwed

  • unless that is a drawing of the first step, thats wrong, ur opening the door

  • thank you

  • but if you step with the backside foot first dont you give away the inside?

well it kinda depends on the run if the back is hittin the A gap that kinda gives the play to the Dline but if hes sweeping to to the outside youv got him cut already

so i would say this technique depends on the run play.

  • Con't from before:

    THE RESULT:

If your helmet is on the right and you're driving with your left leg, one of two things will happen. 1. It will stay that way and the back will run right off your hip to the outside for positive yards. Or 2, the defender will cross your face (because your movement is telling him the ball is going outside) and that will stretch the defense enough to create a cutback lane. TEACH THIS FOR DRIVE BLOCKING:

    1. Helmet goes playside

    2. Drive with your backside leg.

  • CRAP! 1. The back is not going to run up your ass. 2. If the play is a dive to the right, then the O-Line's helmets MUST be on the right side of the defender. 3. Drive with your backside (left) leg. Why? 4. If your helmet is on the right, that means your left shoulder is in contact with the defender. So common sense tells you that you MUST drive with your left leg. (Try driving someone with your right leg if they're on your left shoulder. It's impossible!)

    2B con't

  • yeop... jab step, follow up with the planted foot, and that third step.

get low and dirty woot woot

  • in the drive block he puts his head up and has a heart attact

  • dumb european pussy play a mans game

  • hey u go play football and say its pussy...i play "football too....or soccer....but i play american football tooo!

  • Heres something for you, first that makes no sense so make it better for me to understand. I went ot the United States I played American Football. I was expecting to play "soccer" but instead I ended up breaking my jaw real good way to spend your vacation in the hospital when at the same time I couldn't speak english at the time. So I HAVE played both and I'll save my jaw and stick to the "pussies" sport.

  • im not saying soccer is a pussy sport im just sayin dont diss american football

  • @bobdylan4evr Ndamukong Suh played soccer.

  • shut up you fat ass wanker,

  • f your team you praboly play for an rec team anyway you fucking jew

  • 1)You know the count there should be no stalemate

2)Hands and facemask under that helmet...your not a dlinemen makin stuff look pretty get your hands locked hes not goin anywhere

3)work your core with the rest of the motion of your body to stay in drive position

    12-0 City Champs

  • Stalemate= Oline wins

agianst top competition your not gonna be able to drive them all the way down field you have to use positioning. just get your body in the way of him and the runner. Thats why the zone offense is so succesfull its all about positioning not just driving someone down feild although it feels good to do.lol

  • Sometimes size doesnt matter in the trenches is how smart you play and technique

  • what I am thought as an offensive linemen is

1st six inch step we throw our arms back(of course stay low)

2 step punch in the stomach and at the same time hit him with my face mask.

always works, but of course this is for run blocking, pass blocking is almost the same. jsut a bit different.

  • You should always lead with your inside foot when run blocking. Forget about flexing your toe muscles, just stay low and drive through the defensive lineman and stay with your block. For free football info check out CoachFootballNow dot com

  • You need to lead with your hole foot. If the ball is going inside of you and you lead with your outside foot your going to get your ball carrier killed especially if the dline is slanting in. Good technique illustration though.

  • good video, but im a d-1 defensive linemen and unless you are a center you really arent going to have a DL head up on you. Most the time the defense is going to work half a man because its easier to win. A lot of his two step stuff doesnt address what happend when a dl is in a shade. Good video though, I wish i had that back in hs when i went both ways, my coaches sucked

  • I was thinking the same thing...I never had to block anyone head up except for 1 on 1 drills or B.O.B. situations...other than that I did a lot of zone blocking.

  • same here

  • they cant throw u down its illegal

  • Dumb ass, Deffence can do anything... There isnt anything called holding on Deffence... They can do it :O.

  • no its not u just gotta throw the olinement a certain way u cant touch his helmet and throw him other then that you can

  • what if ur driving and the d-line throws you to the ground

  • nothing its perfectly legal

  • no im askin the dude on the screen what if the guy tries to throw you on the ground, how do you stop him from doin it

  • oh. usually you would have a low and wide center of gravity wich will make it quite difficult to throw you down

  • then you just got bitched

  • i play right gaurd. and all of what he said it what my coachs are telling me :D. great vid. gives me a differnt way to look at what im doing.

  • what team do you play for?

  • irvine highschool freshman team

  • i play o-line and these drills are very effective

  • i play o-line too but my team doesnt just sit and listen we just do it . if we do it wrong our coach tells us whats wrong and we fix it up.

  • lucky our coaches just say that was shitty and they say. just drive your guy. maybe thats why we're 2-6

  • well he points out what were doin' wrong and he'll tell us what to do next time. were 5-3 now goin in the championships

  • see what you hit

  • first comment! ! ! beautiful video i love it :D and im definetly going to practice this as a fullback and center :D
