  • nice music huh..

  • OMG I was there!!! =D Best experience to date!

  • Viva la Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!

  • What a beautiful moment for Sydney!

It is amazing to see Young People HAPPY and being RESPECTFUL* (without drugs/alcohol)

especially to a man who came only to promote love, peace, joy and serving the poor, disadvantaged and marginalized.

*hint hint* to the people who post on this thing

  • that was one of the greatest collections of gullible people I've ever seen!!!!!!

    wake up!!!!!....god does not exist!!!!!!

  • @35LatitudSur Sorry, but why are u even watching this?

  • This event sickened me, why hold this shit in our country when they have their own region for that (Vatican City), the last thing we needed here was to be flooded by these mindfucked catholic kids making our country look like the 'bible belt' in the US, and not to mention all that money spent that could have been put towards better causes.

  • @auss1atheist sorry they had to come to your country i cant satnd him either mind washed fools they are spreding there lies whever they go surly the money spent could have gone to somewere better take care

  • @auss1atheist What's wrong with seeing happy non-alcholic, "non-drugged" people celebrating their faith? What difference did it make to ur life?

  • I didn't know that Catholics liked little kids.

  • Of course, that's why we have so many babies.

Seriously, I love to see all the little kiddies in Mass and the school yard

  • By the way I am a woman so don't make a pedophile joke out of this, you sicko

  • 35,000 people, molested by Catholics as children, come forward in Ireland.

Google it. The story is all over the world. It is the same story in every small, medium, and large city, in every country on this planet. The Catholic church practices the organized sexual molestation of children.

  • Okay, so clearly the people who do those things are NOT true Catholics. A real Catholic would NEVEr do something like that, because it is TOTALLY against our religion.

  • @TheBeatles193 What is against Catholicism?

  • @stephenkingrocks its no joke 35.000 came forwed in ireland about sexual abuse and not one preist ptrossocuted and you really think women cant commit sexual bcaause like the nuns did in ireland catholic really dosent mean intelligent your proving this

  • hi, markdanyells! how did you copy/save this video? i believe this is from the wyd2008 media player website ryt? pls help me, i need to save it for our parish consumption. thanx!

  • Thats the funny thing.. i dont drink or do drugs so...

  • wow!

wyd was the best. sydney was so crowded.

it was so hard to go to the city like i normally do!

  • the Man numbered 666 (the devil himself).

Yes "and all the world wondered after the beast" is clearly seen in this display. Revelation 13.

  • world youth day has changed my life and has made me realize my faith and has made me a stronger Christian.I enjoyed every time and every mintue of world youth day.

  • The NEW WYDChallenge . com official launch is TODAY!

  • It's great to see representatives of all the world gathering for such a great experience! This really puts the meaning of 'CATHOLIC' (universal) to the church of Christ...very touching! Bless u all!

  • A charade of global marketing for Sydney at the expense of taxpayers.

  • i was in the choir that was on the stage when he was walking up... it was truly amazing to be so close the the pope... a memory that will be with me forever....

  • Ligth Greet you leadership of love and family!!

Bless you all,God Love you always!!

  • wyd is awesome :D

  • I have no problem with Religion and all that, but i do have a problem with all these Pilgrims walking around thinking they own the place, and pushing their beliefs in our face. I had to put up with them for over a week and im glad its done with. It just seems like a quick grab at the impressionable youth of the world to help sustain their church for the coming years. I would appreciate it if this comment wasn't hidden away rated poorly.. i only speak as an outsider looking in...

  • browny... it was a rare event... don't be unruffled... i believe you should be tolerant of us... we aren't pushing our beliefs in your face...

  • I don't have a problem with the pilgrims, especally when they but my boss (the Pope) around them. I feel more stronger when I see that my boss is protected at all times. He is an awesome boss. I am a Vatican official and certified by his holiness Pope John Paul the Great and Benedict XVI.

  • when you did encounter these pilgrims, did it ever occur to you to notice the happiness and joy of youths coming together and enjoying their belief? cause i mean, this is better than watching other youths going out to drink and do drugs.

  • ewanzgurl, these youths were on the most dangerous drug of all - faith. symptoms include: belief without evidence (justifying such beings as jesus, yahweh, allah, and the flying spaghetti monster), irrational decision making, justification for belief in ANYTHING, and lets not forget living a life based on mysticism and the unknown. id rather be high on pot than faith any day, at least i'd be having fun

  • Did Holy Spirit come to your heart?

  • oh He did. He just did. Powerfully... What about you?

  • I was there. Best time of my life WYD 08. Everyone was just so friendly.

  • I'm middle aged. I was born a catholic. My parents were catholic and my grandparents were catholic so my whole entire family are catholics. WYD 2008 really opened my eyes to see how much of a powerful congregation we have and also made me realise how much of a powerful man our pope is. From nation to nations, kings and queens of the world. The most holiness of all is the pope. With power, glory and blessing. Good bless the youths. CATHOLICS RULE!

  • I agree. I am a Catholic Head Usher of a Diocese in my Area in Southern California, and I also agree with you. As a church leader, I feel the presents of the Lord and the Holy Spirit, especially, Our Lady, Mary, our Mother. God Bless The Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican, our Country and Government of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. The only Religion on earth that have a country and government.

  • Just a tired old man dressed up and driven around in a fancy glassed in golfcart for the crowd. What a circus!

  • Sydney 2008 was awsome because i came 2 meters away from the pope with my gaint Australia hand.

  • was there. awesomeness.

  • Those lucky bastards got a chance to meet the pope/shake is hand! Grrrr!!!!!! Damn it! I got placed all the way at the back so I broke through security but the Pope left the backdoor on the Final Mass....lol it's all gud maybe one day

  • I think when you understand what is going on and the hypocrisy of it, it's hard not to get cynical. Ignorance is bliss hence all the happy clappers and Jesus Freaks in Sydney during World Youth Day. Most of them rich kids from third world countries spending small fortunes to come to Australia smile and clap for the Pope while the majority in the own countries are starving to death.. What a sickenly over indulgent celebration and expense created by the church to get more docile dim witted sheep..

  • @Bleu80

people don't spend their own money, churches raise money to send them there. You have no clue what you're talking about, besides for most of them it's a chance to see the world

  • suk my balls dont bag catholic im a cathoilic

  • stop wathcing if it seems to annoy you so much.

  • Stop listening to marilyn manson and wake up.

If you knew God you wouldn't say that. I dare you to find Him.

  • ahhh i found me! that korean flag is probably my group's flag. btw yeh. itz so nice and it ws very good that policemen cought tha assassin that day. =)

    sorry bd eng. hahaha

  • i just came frm tha australia. im at nz nw. it ws sooooooo aweeeeosome! im definitely going to tha wyd 2011 at Spain. Yeh! it ws ma first time, i had gr8 time and...ahhh!!

so much things to say!!! it ws awesome. aweeesome. God Bless All! XD

  • I went to World Youth Day and slept at Randwick on Saturday night. I have my Trial HSC in 2 weeks but it was all worth sacrificing some study time. Best time of my life, so much fun. Europeans really know how to have fun.

  • this was awesome. i was on one of the boats behind him. it was an awesome week.:)

  • sydneybristow - what a miserable git you are! I'm not a Catholic but I have worked in Sydney all my working life and I have never seen the city so abuzz with happy, positive young people. So much nicer to see a group of young people waving flags and singing happily than hearing about a young person with a bomb stapped to their back, suicide bombing a market full of innocent people. Lighten up, will ya!

  • Viva il Papa! Jesus founded One Holy Catholic Church on Peter, the Rock. From the beginning we are One!! Believe it! Jesus, Our Eucharistic Lord, save the world!

  • Viva il Papa!!!

  • EXCUSE ME--But arent Protestants Christian also???

If so, then dosent that make us all on the same side?

  • not exactly.

yes they both believe in God

but then some of their beliefs and rules

    are very different

  • Australia is a Protestant country NOT a Catholic country. The pope is a bum!

  • The Pope was also made welcome by Protestants

but not by you so it seems.

  • I took the video but it was 3 second fast

  • omg i was like 1 metre away from the pope mobile!! damn barriers!! oO amazing experience!! SYDNEY welcomes the pope! benedicto!! *clap clap*

  • I live in Sydney and certainly do not welcome this useless sack of shit.

  • Why do you feel thay way?

  • Because this costs the Aus Government and us the tax payers millions of dollars and all of the profits go straight into pockets of the catholic church.

The pope doesn't want contraception to go to Africa which is why so many people everyday die from AIDS and other preventable STI's yet in Sydney they are giving out condoms by the thousands.

  • you reallly are simplistic. the government made a decision to help this happen because it brought so much money into the australian ecconomy. a little point you may not know, the Catholic Church cares for 25% of all the AIDS patients in Africa. What have you and yours done lately. NOTHING!

  • Yet if they gave them contraception, they could save almost all of them. How does the Australian economy benefit? Yes transport and tourism revenue would be up but they would spent alot more setting this thing up.

  • Of course the Catholic church has done more for charity then me they are the richest religous organisation in the world. Yet if they stopped pushing all this crap down our throat, with their money and numbers they could really help the world. They are doing nothing for climate change because they believe a) it doesn't exist or b) it is part of gods plan.

I repeat - what a crock of shit.

  • gore's take on climate change is exaggerated. read the skeptical environmentalist for a more intelligent treatment on the subject. i think what you should stop doing is getting all your information from youtube.

  • Don't you have something more originally than that ?

  • Another miserable git!!

  • That is not repeating. You said, "...this useless sack of shit. ..." I didn't see crock of shit in there anywhere. Continue crying as no one is listening.

  • So since you can't logically win this argument you look for tiny flaws in my commenting, I have said crock of shit on many videos which is why "I repeated".

Since you have such an attention to detail could you please read through all my comments to check whether I am gramatically correct? Thanks

And people are obviously reading what I am writing because I get so many replies so I will not cry just yet.

  • No, it is just too easy to get a rise out of people. Which, obviously, has happened in this situation. I'm done here. Thanks.

  • Sydneybristow89: 1 tomalomi84: 0

Could you please question my lack of beliefs, and tell my why religion is good or something? Or come to the popes rescue?

    Here i'll start us off:

The Pope has apologised to sexual abuse victims yet no compensation has been given, that is fucking bullshit.

  • @sydneybristow89

Climate change is a crock of shit!! Are you doing anything to help climate change?

  • The pope and the cardinal object to the victim of a rapist priest coming foward to speak to them at world youth week - because they believe she is "dwelling on old wounds" - try telling her that.

  • I just spent the afternoon watching this live on tv, what a wonderful moving event. I love to see people unite, although Im sure it is just a big party for Y gen, but who cares. Sydney rocks!!!

  • Sydney rocks - Religion doesn't.

WYD should be about young people not catholic young people.

  • true
