  • In case anyone hasn’t recognise it, Art Themen is here playing the beautiful jazz standard Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most, written in 1955 by Tommy Wolf (music) and Fran Landesman (words) and most famously recorded by Ella Fitzgerald in 1961 (with later covers by Bette Midler and Barbara Streisand).

  • A great Saxophonist and Top bloke! I used to work in Theatres at Reading, and enjoyed his lists very much! Good old MR.T!!

  • Saw him at Titley Jazz Festival and he was amazing, actually put together a book of photo's of the whole experience - more details on my website if anyone's interested in obscure jazz merchandise :)

  • First heard him c1962 at the Rex ballroom in Cambridge and have loved him ever since. Did a good job on my sister's hand some 25 years later. Still wonderful.

  • I have been watching this guy for 20 years and he is not only the greatest tenor payer in England, but he knocks the socks off of the yanks too,. Thanks a lot Art. Rock on.

  • Wow! This guy's in my town, Cardiff, in two days, and I'll be at the gig you bet.

  • A gentleman of great grace.

  • The master!

  • Great to see him again. He did arthroscopies on both my knees when I lived in Reading (1990s)! Did it hurt? Well I had a "Kind of Bruise" .....
