To truly get urine out you need to saturate the arrected area with an enzyme based cleaner...let it sit for about 10 minutes and suck it out of the carpet. A professional cleaner can do this but you "could" get simular results using a shop vac. If you must sprinkle something on it...baking soada is the way to go. let it dry then vacuum it up. It should still be flushed out though.

This type of removal process is only good in a pinch. Most of the time corn starch will clot and become embedded in the carpet. Thsi also doesn't do very much for any cat urine that has seeped down below the carpet fiber into the padding. This trick will however work (most of the time) in a pinch.

@nocommentbob I just phoned my vet and they reccommend Biological washing powder in warm water will do, once mixed with warm water simply put onto seeped in patch and scrub for a few minutes, then the enzymes in the powder will destroy the urine for good, I just tried it on the little patch in the carpet and it is drying now, it smells really nice in here now, so it looks like it worked, Hope this helps! xx

I'm sorry. This did not work for me. I tried it and it got stuck in my carpet. I had to use a butter knife to get it up and I fought with it.
