Neil and Geddy are both smoking cigarettes and I know that Alex has been trying to stop the cancer sticks for a long time. As far as them doing "drugs," i.e. marijuana, who didn't back then. Read all their autobiographies. Peace!!!! :)

I love this era of Rush - Hemispheres, Permanent Waves. Lifeson was on fire at that time.

There's a great new Rush doco out called Beyond the Lighted Stage. It's great. I recommend all Rush fans get it, you'll love it.

Clearly you can hear this song in a transition period between the earlier live versions and the eventual Exit Stage Left Version which became much Darker and Heavier. I love the way Rush would allow their material to morph different areas as time went on...
