  • How did you give the background the blueish tinge?

  • @astigmarshal, flash meter? pfffttt. just test test and test. after a while your settings become natural

  • I see ur not using a flash meter..

    how come?

  • I think its something called 'inverse square law'

  • That was awesome.. Thanks for sharing your strobist info dustin.. Thanks a lot.

  • More videos like this please - really informative for us Strobist wanabee amateurs.

  • Awesome...

Nice I can hear the flashed charging...

    Still learning from you...

  • You could include the final pic at the end of the video. That would be really cooooool... :)

  • you can click on the link in the description which shows the final shot.

  • great job as always! i am a fan!

    "seemless" or "seamless"?

  • So the lighting setup (strobist info) you gave at the end of the video seems more accurate than what you posted on your website. Looks more like unmodified strobes than a softbox.

How did you get the blue background? It doesn't look like white balancing to me (because of the color and texture).... did you photoshop that in?

  • To your surprise, it's a combination of white balance, and contrast. I increased the "blacks" in the photo, which naturally saturates the photo. The WB was set to 5000 Kelvin°

The speedlight flashes are daylight balanced at about 5500K°

thus, it comes out blue, and the deepened blacks made it more prevalent.

    cheers,

    Dustin
