Both Flo and Mary were as good lead singers as Diana but through Diana's ambition and Berry Gordy's machinations Flo was forced out and Mary was pushed into the background. Then Diana left the Supremes and both the group and her single career were nothing compared to the Supremes which she and Berry ruined.
How many times are we going to hear the same tired cliches about how cold, heartless, ambitious Diana screwed poor Mary and Flo. It's show business. And it's over. Flo s dead. Diana and Mary moved on. Why don't you? I'd hardly say that Diana "screwed up her career." hello, her early career fashion choices becoming one of the fashion fads of the 80s? with her monumental performance at the first mtv awards? the fact that shes the biggest selling female artist ever? that is quite original. i presume diana has been original things in her life? i guess, spending her 70s being one of the first 'style over substance' artists and spending the 80s trying to be half her age and putting out crap records? that is original. regardless of what, they're both legends.

Diana Ross sure screwed up her career and that of her lifelong friends Flo and Mary. Both Flo and Mary were as good lead singers as Diana but through Diana's ambition and Berry Gordy's machinations Flo was forced out and Mary was pushed into the background. Then Diana left the Supremes and both the group and her single career were nothing compared to the Supremes which she and Berry ruined.

Diana and Mary moved on. Why don't you? I'd hardly say that Diana "screwed up her career." And if you think that Mary and Flo were as good lead singers as Diana, you simply know nothing about what makes a great pop singer. It's a distinctive sound that no one else has. Diana has that. Flo didn't. Mary doesn't. Period.
