I'm a Latin and Ballroom dancer and I have to agree with you it is not anything close to real ballroom tango or argentine tango except the promanade hold they do. The hooks between the guys legs the girls are attempting are a little closer to actual argentine tango style. Although what this is really missing is actual passion and sharp stekato movements which is really what argentine and ballroom tango are famous for.
