very nice! Only problem I have is... HOW to upload full quality 1080p videos to youtube... I had no trouble with fraps, recorded 60FPS 1080p... BUT, when converting and uploading to youtube, the image quality drops like HELL, not as good as some gameplay videos we see in you tube at 1080p with rly good image. So, video in PC, perfect, after uploaded, crap image.. I tried to convert to a lot of diferent formats, all of them keep the quality, them lose it after uploading on youtube, tuto plz TY =)

I think setting processor affinity would allow you to get more fps, i doubt crysis 2 is using all 8 of those i7 cores, if you set 2-3 specifically for fraps and the rest for crysis 2 i would think you could push that 100FPS cap that crysis seems to have.

When you use youtube it automaticly resizes it to 1080p or 720p or less and no more then 30fps... so more fps is just useless...

@18iser No in the event that you are editing. Effects like slow-motion can make great use of the extra frames. Without these frames, this effect will appear choppy. For example, 60Fps @ 1/2 speed = 30fps slow-motion segment. 30fps @ 1/2 speed = 15fps slow-motion segment. So, depending on the user, recording over 30fps may be more useful.

Don't use fraps too big file size , use Bandicam it DESTROYS fraps , the quality is the same but the file size is like 130 times less and it is just less heavy load so you end up with more fps !

got i7-960, 6gb ram, GTX 460SOC and Vertex 3 SSD to run the game, and using an External HDD 2TB USB 3.0 to save the fraps and i have no porblems in recording any game at the market at 60fps,

total cost, 1.3k AUD and its a over a year old machine.

Or, you get Dxtory. Literally no framerate drop, Medium quality in Dxtory looks better than full-size in Fraps, smaller files, it saves the recording in one file instead of spreading it out to smaller files like in Fraps. And you can, for an example, play in 1920x1080 but still record in 1280x720. I don't see why anyone wouldn't use Dxtory instead. :P

I have 2 drives in my system, both 1TB. I record to one and that's it's only use, purely for recording... when producing files I'd say if you were to render and save onto your external you wouldn't have problems (if it's a drive related limitation).

@TheSpecialcrafter Chances Are you are either still recording after a loading screen, after a loading screen, stop recording, and start it back up... also after you get a lagspike, you might want to stop and restart recording, not the entire video, just push f9... and f9 again

Fraps records uncompressed videos with the highest quality possible at an insane bitrate and in AVI format, which makes the files very big, but it makes video editing A LOT better and easier, and after video editing, you can save in to any video format you want with lossless quality and small file size. Also it crops footage when a video file reaches 4GB so that your system won't lag too much and the editing software won't import it forever. Fraps is the best if you want the best quality. :)

@DanielThePhoenix Fraps has the option of uncompressed RGB, but by default the FPS1 codec it uses is not uncompressed. Also the 4GB filesize was not a design decision it's due to them using a very outdated AVI revision and if anything it should be an option.
