  • good times.

  • weel beeral is to hide bodys

  • Another great vid man 2 thumbs up!

  • Hey Beast!

First time I've seen one of your vids and really enjoyed it.

    Thanks

  • Great tips on winter driving. These are some of the first things we are shown in the 'self-rescue' section of our off road course for the Fire Service.

We are still waiting for some decent snow to hit the UK. I can't wait to get out in the Land-Rover Defender. Our winch is broken at the moment though :(

  • wonderful night out!

  • Really enjoyed watching that! Nice one.

  • Awesome vid beast! Winter is by far my favorite season to camp. What tarp were you using? Looks pretty awesome...

  • Great video! There's no other weather I'd rather hike in. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe! -Tim

  • Amazing what a tarp will do for you even in a winter storm. Great vid, thanks for all the tips. Good chuckle on the matches but they seem to do the job, one match one fire, not bad for common matches in a storm.

  • Really enjoyed the opening discussion. I did get stuck in the snow one year out doing the same thing (weather was better though). Had to hike out and all the way down the canyon to get to a pay phone (before cell phones were the norm). Learned a lot from that. What a great vid Beast. It sounded like you were just having the time of your life out there. I've put my tarp that close to the fire and have not had holes burned in. Did yours do all right? I'm toying with getting a nicer tarp.

  • Looked like a blast! Lots of great information, as always. Had to LOL! Your vast array of fine fire starters and for your winter storm you use a book of matches - good one, it did the job. Very enjoyable this one. Good to see someone in the PNW got out in this stuff.

  • This is really cool! :)

  • My little girls and I like your vids. We have the same whistle in our kits. Being 4 and 2, they thought it was really cool to see. keep up the vids they rock.

  • Awesome vid. Thanks for sharing!

  • So your 4 wheel drive went out in the scout ? So what are you doing in the forest fire off season for work ?

  • @medicjimr when I did the reverse shackle, I need to get a different front drive line for it

  • I love how beast describes everything he does and why which is always well thought through in terms of efficiency, safety, etc...

  • Nice vid

  • Looked like a nice peaceful retreat, even with the cold and wind. God bless.

  • make some vlogs beast :D

  • Outstanding beast ! Good to use the MRE's. Hope you had fun. Thank you for sharing.Peace

  • Great lessons there. Tons of tips. Thanks man. ~Wolf

  • I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this vid! It is one of my fantasies come to life. Only thing I would like to have seen is a shot of your shelter from outside. Thanks, man!

  • Good stuff. I also prefer camping in the worst of winter. A lot less people around me, and the occasional fellow camper I do meet are usually there to enjoy it, and not carry on like its spring break. Downside is we can't carry in new jersey, so you are taking a chance here.

  • @bizzarrogeorge The supreme court just ruled you can carry, and the right to bear arms is a fundimental right of the individual (meaning the 2nd amendment isn't referring to the militia only when bearing arms).

  • I like the cold and the snow... but I hate wind haha

  • Please make more vids like this. =D

    Awesome!

  • use that wheel barrel to haul your fire wood..lol

  • nice

  • great vid.

  • wow... what a night out! I really do miss the snow. What kind of multicam pants are ya wearing?

  • @hinckleypoland tru spec

  • Very nice...enjoyed watching.

  • Great vid.

  • Just realised haven't seen you dog in the videos in the while. Is he okay?

  • @NarrowPass4x4 he is fine, but I was headed to work the next morning and not going home first

  • @beast12101 Glad to hear he o.k.

  • We're currently digging out in Wa, as well. Great video. Did you dry those twigs in any way before you started the fire?

  • Very fun video! I love going on these adventures with you. I really liked your beer cup! That would be fun to bring to a Deschutes Brewery. BTW, The Abyss is a fantastic stout. I bet that hit the spot!

  • Thanks for the overnight adventure, just one comment, when you use your GoPro, can you move your head a little slower when you pan? got a little dizzy there. thanks for sharing!

  • Cool vid and good vids in general. Would have liked to see more from the forest. Nice basic truck Btw. I like the flat wind screen. Reminds me of the old Land Rovers. Is it a International? Looks early seventies.

  • @Moscowprepper yep, 77 scout

  • no max?

  • Jug of water, wilbarle, and a big board means only one thing outdoor Grow Op.

  • Great video, I thought it was great that you started your fire with a match, don't see matches used very much. You never know but you might have stumpled upon someones little lab with the wheelbarrow, bottle of water and the piece of siding you found.

  • whats your cam setup like so you have hands free?

  • @lordmoadibbe he said go pro at the start i think

  • @dave360dave yup

  • When you lifted the board, I thought it was a secret bugout stash! Unhooking battery in truck is a good idea. your truck is okay, but newer ones have a constant draw.

  • @NeeShallPass I wasnt sure what would be under there

  • oh cool you have a kuksa. we here finland sure know what that is :)

  • everytime i camp in that winter weather i end up horribly sick good luck! everyone

  • Very Cool Video. I too love the winter.

  • Nice video, very cool sort of bushcraft. And all that made in nearly the hardest season...

  • Wish I had the land around me to do this stuff. Sadly its registered camping only and day trails with no camping allowed. Great adventure. Do you ever get worried going solo?

  • Loved watching this adventure!

  • Alot of great tips and a cool night of camping. Thanks for the vid.

  • great vid buddy all the best

  • Living in Florida (for now) makes me miss the seasons. These videos are a real treat for me so I thank you for taking the time to bring us along.

  • Great night out Beast. Sweet tarp as well.

    Nate

  • Got snowshoes? Where abouts are you?

  • @mostlymichaelcanada no snowshoes, it was only about 8 inches deep at the time

  • Rain X on the windshield will help with wipers freezing.

  • nice tip (windshield flip), I wish I would always remember that! Very good job hitting the basic safety rules that would save peoples lives, if they would simply follow them. I too love the snow and feel energized when it comes to town. watching vids like this make me want to drop everything I'm doing and hit the mountains. Thanks for filming your outing! Good job!

  • That was so freaking odd about the wheel barrel, siding and jug of water. That is something that would make me want to investigate and explore.

  • Did you end up using the GoPro the whole time? Thanks for sharing your journeys!

  • @NEbigfoot at the end I use kodak you can hear the audio change

  • Great video. Now i can't wait for snow. Be Safe

  • What temp is there? -2 +2?

  • Thanks for sharing...

  • if that was water.. shouldnt it be frozzen! rembemer alcohol does not freeze!

  • Looks damn cold! The wind has been brutal for this storm.

  • I've seen a ton of horror movies that started off just like this one, but you survived!

Awesome video , inspiring and informative ,

    Thanks for sharing.

  • good times indeed

  • Great video bro, looks like it was a great overnighter.

  • Not a jug of water, might be jug of moon shine??? lol

  • @bmxstreet6 Yep, thats the reason it wasn't frozen.

  • Great video brother beast! When I saw the wheel barrel (heat deflector) & plywood (wind break) I thought heck re salvage those items & make camp there. The camping spot that you went with was much better.

Besides the space blanket did you have a pad to insulate you from the ground? Too bad you didn't get more snow, but still it looked like a glorious overnighter : )

  • @CampfireTalk it was great to be out, I did have my big agnes insulated pad

  • the wheelbarrow was for transporting the bodies.

  • good times!did I miss some paint on the scout, or is it just cleaner than usual. crazy stuff you found, ya there was wood everywhere:) , thanks for taking us along.

  • Could you explain the "SPOT" a little more, maybe do a video if you have not.

  • Fantastic choice of beer! Wish Deschutes was available here in the Great Lakes area. Great vid and glad to see a fellow bushcrafter enjoying actual good beer!

p.s. you need to try Founders Canadian Breakfast Imperial Stout

  • Awesome vid I would love to see more just like it. Bring on the snow

  • Great outing, nice fire and much cool tips. Thank you, my friend. Have a great weekend, Sepp

  • Central Oregon?

  • Excellent vid! Im jealous. What do you usually use to hold water in once in camp? I have seen some of the spendy bladders and bottles, But I recently found some really cool and inexpensive reuseable water/fuel bladders and will have those up on my site soon. They seem to be great for keeping a couple gallons around camp.

  • @RealitySurvival mostly metal containers that can be heated up near the fire in the morning

  • Wow, it looked pretty cold out there! Great video though. I'm hoping that the nice fire kept you somewhat comfortable at least. Thanks for sharing.

  • great vid, hope we get snow this year, if at all

  • Very good video, look forward to the next.

    paul uk.

  • Wow dude.. very cool video!!

    How'd you sleep?

  • @markshmily so good I didnt realize I was getting rained on ;)

  • The wheelbarrel wood make a good fire pit

  • Hi Beast how cool was that 45* rite HaHa!! lol nice trip man wish I was there I think im of on a canoe type trip for my next film just like yourself I love the winter thanks for sharing. Roach

  • What brand is your casualty blanket? Can you do a full video review of the blanket? I am really trying to lighten my winter pack. Right now I am using a Ridge Rest foam style. Its is still too heavy and takes up way, way too much space.

  • @Doomjunkie its made by Grabber, its ok, it'll need to be replaced. I still had my big agnes insulated pad
