  • I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. Are you deaf or hard of hearing? If so, how would you know the beat of the song?

  • This song hits really close to home (with me being the other woman), but your interpretation of it made it bearable to listen to(:

  • you are amazing! i love watching your videos. and i like taylor swift too so, yay! :D

  • I loved your your rendition of this song. You did a great job.

  • I really LOVE this video, i mean i don't really have any words for it :D. Definetly going on my favorite list!

  • Good job keeping up with the song. :)

  • I love how you put what your saying at the bottom at the beginning of the video

  • Are you really deaf or did you just study ASL? My cousin is deaf and I know nothing except the alphabet >.< How long does it usually take to become fluent in ASL?

  • @blackfearie16 Read her about me it tells everything (:

  • @blackfearie16 I would encourage you to find an ASL class and learn from a deaf teacher. It's an amazing experience.

  • @signsofapril50 Ally made this video almost 3 years ago. Since then she's finished her studies and now teaches deaf kids. =) She's great and it wouldn't surprise me if she had a few Deaf teachers along the way.

  • these are all amazing :)

  • you are soo good! i have watched ALOT of your videos and enjoy every single one of them ... thank you and keep up the good work :)

  • i was wondering if you could give me the gloss for this song?? please let me know. i would love to learn this song!!

  • you are so great,my son loves you hes deaf and he just love watching you.

  • I love watching you sign. It's beautiful honestly. I can understand some words, but I definately need to work on speed and grammer and such. :) Thanks for doing this, I love it.

  • You are very easy to follow and your facial expressions are perfect! You are so fluid with your signs and express the song very well.

  • really great facial expressions!

  • So sweet. <3

  • I like Taylor Swift, too. Actually, I like many Country Artists and my favorite is Miranda Lambert the best. But like many others, too.

  • what is the sign at 2:37? i see it all the time but being as i only know a few words i have no idea and its really bothering me

  • @candiaki214

I believe it's like the ? at the end of a question. it's like saying "Do you really believe we could ever be the same again?"

  • I absolutely love your facial expression at 2:47 - 2:54. I especially love the sign right after you put your hand to your chest and then bring up both your hands in some specific way. In that same time period I mentioned x) What does that sign mean btww ? :o And I was hoping that maybe you could send me the translations you did for this song. I would absolutely love to learn exactly how you did (: Please ? (:

  • that was awesome. loved your attitude.

  • I enoyed the way that you signed this song, it was really good.

  • hey would u mind doing taylor swift- mine but can u do it step by step

my cousin is deaf and i would like to sing him that song! plus i really want to learn sign language!

  • Love this song. Thanks!

  • I love your facial expressions they really show the 'feelings' of the song

  • Hey is it possible for deaf people to sign the same song differently?

  • @CarmenChordCshorty OF COURSE! in fact, it's just about IMPOSSIBLE for two people to sign the same song the EXACT same way unless they copied.

interpretations are just that - one person interpreting the music and what it means to them. what it means to me, and how i choose to portray that, might be completely opposite to you. :)

  • @allyballybabe Ok thank you! I am asl and know the signs but i sign the songs a littel differently. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt signing wrong. Like we have the same signes for the same basic words ,but we sign the sentences differently. So thank you. You are so good. Your better then I am, and I am deaf but just relearning Asl, because I forgot it after all these years of speaking english

  • @CarmenChordCshorty yes everyone interprets things differently.

  • what are the signs you used at 1:35 and 2:03?

  • @skittles495 1:35 is YES

    2:03 is TOGETHER

  • Can you tell me the sign usised at 1:11? It's a "P" handshape. The moment and location are the same as the sign "boring". I've never see it before. Is it a regional sign?

  • @gearshifter26 PISSED OFF

  • @allyballybabe so are the signs for cheat and pissed off the same?

  • @allyballybabe Ally how does that fit in context? i thought you signed cheat...

  • @gearshifter26 It Means Cheating

  • Can you tell me the sign you used at 1:11? It's a "P" handshape. The moment and location are the same as the sign "boring". I've never see it before. Is it a regional sign?

  • I really love your films, especially this one, you show so much attitude, just wonderful to see. Really love 2.24 Love to watch the similar things with the dutch signlanguage. You're doing great! Please don't stop making these movies.

  • I just start to learn ASL recently, am hard of hearing. I can sign some simple words now. I joined a great deaf daing site, ----Deafornot dot c om----, and met some good deaf/HOH friends over there. They help me to learn ASL.

  • Hey Ally! Just saying I love your videos! They have been such a great help for me. What sign are you using at 11 seconds? Keep up the awesome work! Thanks! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @BakenMicShaken It means "projects"

  • What sign is that on 1:19 with the "F"?

  • @joseph5498 I'd like to know that one also, Joseph. I'm not familiar with that sign either.

  • what does the sign at 2:25 where you brush your index finger with your other hand mean? i've seen it a few times in other songs people have signed to, but i'm not sure what they're saying :) thanks!

  • @livypookins I'm pretty sure that sign means "cheat" "cheating"

  • @livypookins to flatter someone

  • This is amazing! I love your translation of this. I'm a recent ITP grad and I wanted to do this song, so I watched yours first so that I don't do mine the same way, and I love the way you set this up. Very visual, I enjoyed it very much. [:

  • Is it possible for you to put the gloss up of this song? I would love to learn it and some of the signs I am just not sure of - thanks!

  • Wonder how many "borrow" from your interpretation, just a few I've seen look pretty similar, then again, most of the same concepts/signs would be thought of by most. I'd love to see this interpreted a little more ASL way, like instead of following the words, paint a story. Though, only less than a handful of people on YouTube can do this, I'd love to see others try; it seems pretty difficult. But you do a great job for what you do. *smiles*

  • @thebananaiscool she is not deaf

  • one of my favorites!

  • i like this one! a lot more asl!!!!!! so good!

  • i get the goose bumps the whole time i watch these videos haha. i'm so jealous of how well you know it, haha, it's beautiful :)

  • hi i read that you're in college! i think thats REALLY cool! and i was wondering what grade you are in! cause im taking asl too and was wondering.

  • excellent job especially with with facial expressions.

  • Ally what is the sign you are making at your nose with a twisting k hand? I've asked around and none of my Deaf friends know. Is it a regional sign for cheating?

  • yep thts the sign fr CHEAT....So she signing "Yesterday i herd you cheated".........hope it helps!!!!!

  • Great job! I loved it!

  • i have a friend that is deaf and i think she would really like it if you signed a few songs by teh jonas brotehrs for her please!!!!!

  • You are amazing as you could tell from mi other comment i know a little well (i haven't done it for like 2 years) but you are amzing you have inspired my friend to get into this!

  • I was so excited to find you when i was researching doing asl to a song for my talent competition for 2009 miss teen butte county (which i ended up winning) as part of my duties this year i will be signing to the National Anthem! would you please be willing to post a video of your version of the National Anthem? if you would like to see my talent search "Marcee's 2009 Talent" thank you for all of your videos...my whole family enjoys them!

  • butte montana?

  • Butte County, California

  • For a simple (and correct) ASL version of The Star Spangled Banner, look at BYUFanatic on YouTube. He does a perfect job.

  • Thank you! I signed to the Star Spangled Banner about two weekends ago at an American Legion Dinner. I researched lots of places on the Internet and may have run across the person you refer to. You are right, there are a lot of different versions of how to sign to this song! Thank you!

  • cheating was expressed in the way you would cheat on a test... not as an affair, as would have been conceptually accurate...

    Good job though!

  • woah!

  • you are AHMAZING

    not amazing, AHMAZING

    theres a huge differance ;D

  • Wow--the first part of my comment vanished. It started out like this:

I love your interpretation of songs into ASL! You try to be as accurate as possible, and I have spotted one such area.

  • "You should've said no, maybe then you might still have me."

In the main course, you literally sign: "maybe / then/ you & me/ still / together." Then, at the very end of the song, you end it differently with: "maybe / then / still / "going with; going out--sign.

That is brilliant and def. convey's the true meaning of the song into ASL. I am not an expert, nor claim to be (your knowledge in sign is FAR superior to mine, I bow to the master) I just love it :)

  • i absolutely LOVE this song and when i hear it i will often times start to sign and i love your interpretation. The facial expressions perfectly capture the feelings in the song,

Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post all of the songs you do.

  • Lol...omg thanks Ally you really helped me out...i'm trying to asl well its kinda hard but i love the way you sign its wonderful. Anyways I love the way you can like sing songs without saying a word....it's kinda like a dance but with ur hands and i love it...anyways thanks Ally keep up the good work.

  • i tried learning ASL a few years ago but it was crazy difficult and i just didnt have enough time. neways...the vids are amazing and i love that you are signing Taylor Swift songs, she is awesome! :0)

  • Can you sign the song "Everything I do, I do it for you" by Bryan Adams. I love this song and Im deaf and I do sign the song.. but I couldnt figure out how to sign that song. it would be great if you do. I love the way you sign. It would be greatly appericate if you sign that song.

    Thanks

  • how long have u bin doing sign language?

  • im just wondering...can you hear and are just really really great at signing or are you deaf?

  • Umm, you *could* read her channel. All of the information below is on her profile page.

She's a 20 year old, hearing interpreting student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

She's been signing for about 7 or 8 years now and my guess is that she's probably heading towards a career in professional sign language interpreting.

    Scott

  • thanks scott. :)

ive just stopped responding to these kinds of questions. lol

  • Comment removed

  • even though i know this is rude, its so funny!

of course i did not insult you!

and its not finger language.. its american sign language.

  • marry with me ? ;P

  • ur really good

  • I like how you mouth the works as you sign. That was an amazing song and signing for it

  • I don't know ally if i ever thank you for this I was one of the people who requested it Davison thanks so much keep the vids coming love them. =) =] =) =] B) B] B) B] <3 <3 <3 <3

  • That was amazing. :)

  • awesome

  • i love the way u sign cant wait till i get into ASL 2

  • allyballybabe..i totally understand why you wouldnt want to do that

i'll just continue to watch your videos and hope that classes open soon in my area!

    :]

  • im 17 years old and i want to take ASL classes but there aren't any in my area.

so im forced to watch vids here on youtube

ive been watching expert village and people are saying that those aren't accurate

i was wondering if you'd be willing to teach ASL here on youtube with videos??

it would be a great help to those of us who are passionate about it, but unable to sign

    thanks!

  • unfortunately, the time and effort required out of teaching ASL on the internet is too time and energy consuming to do it pro-bono.

i'd have to have some sort of income, and there's not enough people asking that are willing to pay. :-\

  • Awesome! Fun to watch your expressions, right on with singer!!!!

  • Hey Ally, I love watching your videos and I have been taking an ASL class this week and it has been sooo much fun and my instructor seemed very impressed with what I knew. I just wanted to thank you for doing these songs. They are very inspiring. lol

  • Can you tell me what signs are at 1:04

    and 1:24 and 1:27? thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not sure if you mean the one at the beginning of 1:27 or the end, so I'll include both. The first, I believe, is need - but I'm not positive. And the second is finish, or end.

  • actually, 1:04 means etc..like..songs, smiles, flowers etc.

1:24 is DO. its like two c shapes...as in like..take it back, DO and then the negation NOT. like if i hadn't done that, if i took it back

1:27 she signs given 1 chance. its the same hand shape as used for need but two of them are used in a directional verb sign as if you're giving someone something from you. CHANCE is signed like finish, but with a C handshape instead of the open 5 handshape.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  • nope!! you did well!! :)

  • thanks!! :p

so, the sign with the two f handshapes going backwards kind of over your shoulder IS "take back"? I kind of figured, because it looks a little like rewinding something guess..because the sign for before or past is over the shoulder...i couldn't find that sign on any dictionary.

  • well, the sign with the f handshapes is normally done in front of the body. and it means to "switch something out" or "trade" or ... "replace" "substitute" things like that... so, when done in conjunction with the sign for HISTORY (h handshapes going backwards over the shoulder), it meants to take back what was done in the past.. or to replace the past. :)

  • Oh okay. Thanks :)

  • Awesome! Learned a new way to do a sign!

  • What is at 1:20?

  • Comment removed

  • love thi svid

  • WOW you are awesome i am also studying deaf educaution but i study exact english but i also know asl. your vids are AWESOME

  • In my humble opinion, of those who are hearing that can sign, some kid themselves when they try to "sing" songs in ASL. You are NOT one of those, you can sing very beautifully :)

Signing songs is a gift in which many interpreters will admit they don't have. I think the reason your videos are so popular is that even those who do not know sign, know good workmanship and talent when they see it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Good job and thank you, I am learning a lot from your vids!

  • You are absolutely right I can't sign but she is amazing I love watching her videos just for fun. Its interesting and she is very talented!

  • totally awesome, i memorized your translation and sign it everytime i hear this song. can i please request that you do "your anything"-taylor swift and "permanent marker". i think you would do permanent marker well because it has attitude, which you portray amazingly

  • That's an amazingly awesome video! I have 2 questions, though. What are the signs at 2:04 and 3:46?

  • Comment removed

  • its cute!!! i like her 2!!! can u not speak or sumthing or did u just do this by request!?!??!anyway i luv it!

  • If you read her page it says that she's a hearing student who's studying deaf education.

  • cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc ccccccccccccoooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooolllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ll

  • I LOVE IT A ++++ I WILL GIVE 10 STAR.?

  • i dont really understand the gloss you use for "i found out about you". what does the "k" handshape sign by your nose (similar to 'bored') mean? thanks!

i've learned so much from you. thank you for posting. you are a great resource! =D

  • CHEAT

  • Thanks for your usual great interpretation, Ally!

Best of luck in the coming chapter! ;-)

    Regards,

    Grandpa Gene

  • I happened to come by this by chance but I really enjoyed it. My receptive skills aren't that great and I was suprised to be able to understand most of what you were signing. Good job, I loved it!

  • yea she does

  • OMG!!!! You have amazing facial expressions in this song!!!!

  • you should do "Best Day - Taylor Swift"

    its a really good song.

  • what does that sign at 1:19 mean?

  • look away or look down, depends on how the song is interpted, hey Ally, if you see this message, maybe you can explain better. Take care.

  • Thanks gallyblue!
