I think black is better in the final position. He should play Rc4 and Rfc8 with a nice blockade on c4-d5 and c-file attack. The c4 rook can also be transfered to a4 if needed. I wonder why i offered a draw. He had a nice game which would have been interesting to see.
i remember when i first used a chess engine from the game 'Kasparov chess' to win on chesscube. If I was white, I would just play whatever the computer played against me on chesscube. Thought I had discovered a brilliant trick lol
Great video, showing the disadvantages of under-defending an IQP and bringing your bishop out too early in that sort of structure. Losses are instructive too! :)
Hi Kingscrusher great games these 15 minutes ones, they're very instructive. Since you're a Smith-Morra fan, do you have any thoughts on the Morphy Gambit in the Sicilian? Thanks a lot for all these videos!
Hi KC, thanks for all your videos, I love following your ups and downs. I think the 15 minute format is excellent and could be even more instructive than the 5 min games. I have a question: Do you aim to be a GM or IM one day? If not what is it that separates you from them? Thanks again!
At 06:40, I wonder why the FM took the Knight on c3 instead of the Bishop on e3. I think your dark-squared Bishop looks much more valuable than your Knight at that point. It looks to me that with such an open position, his two Bishops would be much better than your two Knights.
@xactxx After taking on c3 white has a bad bishop. A bad bishop has little mobility because it is imprisoned by its own pawns. Of course if white could get c4 or d5 in then the bishop would be dynamic - but black can easily blockade c4 and d5. This position seems semi-closed to me (not open) due to blacks control of c4 d5. The best square for the bishop is probably d2 to defend c3. That can only be called a bad bishop
@xlinearoperator It seems from checking games at chessgames(dot)com that White shouldn't waste time with h3 - and instead sometimes play the move d5 if needed.
Do you guys know how to play in icc with that type of chessboard above? I haven´t found a chessboard like that, so if you know could you tell me?

Do you think that knowing a players rating before playing them carries with it a psychological advantage or disadvantage in some cases?...

sorry i meant at 8:11 why not move Ne1he move to Nh2 if the knight was on e1 it would have defended the rook on c2 later.

I think you could have kept a slight edge with e5 instead of exd5. f5 control might be a small cost to blunt the fianchetto.

thank you for these 15 minute games

The chap delayed capturing on d5 until he castled because Qb3 could be tricky. After castling Qb3 is met by ...Nb6.

12. Bc2 seemed crucial to me, after you traded that I figured you were even or worse.

@xlinearoperator What do you call a bishop that can't attack any pieces due to the pieces on the opposite square?
