Wanna know what I just realized about this scene? It isn't fully a happy ending. If you think about it, a lot of animals must've died in this scene and half the forest was burned down. Sure, they show some animals swimming to the safe part of the forest, but that couldn't have been the entire population. The only thing in this scene that's actually happy is that the main characters make it out alive. It's kind of dark. Alright, Disney!

even though this is a great movie and was one of my favorite disney movies growing up I hate it for how it puts us hunters in a negative light. we dont shoot madly at every animal we see and we actually show respect for the animal we kill and make sure its death was not in vain by not wasting its meat or hide.

Bambi doesn't make the same mistake his father does when Man comes into the forest. He goes back for his mate, saving her from the same fate as his mother. This movie is actually more than just deer and cute bunnies. Ah when Disney took time and care with their movies! =(

I felt sorry for that bird. Her instincts screamed at her to fly and that's why she took off like she did, because she did not know any better, despite what the other birds told her. It was a brief but accurate insight into a frightened animal's world. Disney was a genius in that.

Hunting isn't really like this, but the imagery and the foreshadowing, plus the magnificence of the smoke from the campfire and the Great Prince's majesty as he adresses the danger really make this a memorable cinematic moment.

I swear, I always wondered....WHY did they need THAT many dogs? Even as a kid I wondered, "Jeeze isn't that a bit much? Wouldn't you worry about some of the dogs never coming back?"

ON the plus side it shows the bad assness of Bambi who takes on litterally 50 something dogs by himself, and ran across a burning forest, and off a water fall without dying, and all WITH a bullet in his leg, THAT is bad ass.
