  • Many people say Monarchies are old fashiones and that they not longer should exist, but the high level living countries have monarchies with modern thinking doing monarchs who take the responsability as a duty. In the meantime, many "democracies" are falling into dictatorships of fools wanting to be kings in order to manipulate the wealth their nations have and become rich themselves. Others, are just stupid corrupted people who take for granted the trust of the voters into their own benefit.

  • This Country cannot be brought down to a Republic. Our Great Country is best known around the world for monarchy. Long Live Great Britain and the Commonwealth!

  • all these ignorant americans saying how lucky they are that they are a republic. as a proud australian monarchist i'd rather have queen elizabeth as head of state instead of a stupid corrupt politician like americans have had for generations.

  • philadelphialatino ~ the deceleration of independence is slowly fading.. u pay taxes too property tax which is useless . the US waste a shit load of money on wars they shouldn't even be in and owe money to the federal reserve ... yea the taxes u pay to the government is used to pay off the debt they owe to the[ federal reserve] << they own ur ass

  • I dont know why people NOT from the UK are hating on this video. The British monarchy is VERY important too England, just like the Americans highly value their president. We are one of the only few countries in the world that still have a Monarchy. this is what make england so fucking great!

  • @MadzBeat I am not from the UK and I totally agree with you. I live in the USA, but I truly admire the British Monarchy and how their people love them.

    God Save The Queen!

PS: The USA should get a parliamentary government and join the Commonwealth of Nations.

  • This is a lot of trash!

  • Hating George III is foolish, and rather unjust. Your making the common mistake of thinking that he is an absolute monarch, when he was, like the Queen is today, a constitionual one. Parliament put forward those taxations, its said in the name of King George, because technically its his Government, but only in name really. The last Monarch to go against what Parliament have wanted was Queen Anne, and that was way before George. Our Monarchs reign, not rule. And have done so for a long time now.

  • SORRY yes SORRY if I was a bit insulting on some of my previous postings...yes you are right: the monarchy is part of the identity of the UK, OLd country, Old Monarchy..part of your identity with an amazingly rich history. We do share a common backgrounda dn friendship!!

  • Pomp and Circumstance in all its glory~~~~God save the Queen!

  • well philiadelph H.M gets up at 5am has more work and responsibilities then you could even imagine and im guessing your american by your user name so really you should concentrate on de consuming and cleaning up the mess you people start ....talk about up set H.M is entitled to every reverence more then any paster pope or priest this lady has devoted her entire life to her country and commonwealth of which im a loyal subject

  • @themilkojones

I have never met an Australian who described himself/herself as a loyal subject of HM the Queen.

Admittedly I have met few Australians, but I assumed very few would call themselves loyal subjects and that republicanism was the prevailing movement.

Sir, I am glad we share a Queen.

Regards, A loyal subject from the UK

  • @themilkojones as posted above I respect your admiration for your Queen, its part of the heritage, tradition of the UK. That being said, I dont believe in it at ALL and thank god we are a republic here in the US of A :)

  • Now,now. Just because some people are rude don't class all Americans together.I happen to like the Queen though I am an American!!

  • There IT is!

  • thanks for this clip.

  • I saw a clip of the annoiting of the Queen as they pour excess oil on her head. i believe the queen got upset over it. The oil just drip on side of her face. Someone should post it in utube. You could actually see the oil spill over the side of her face.

  • Queen Elizabeth 11 of England only.

    Queen Elizebeth 1 of Britain.

  • @BillDFC

this problem was settled and the higher number is used.

  • The Queen is a smart lady. I doubt that she really cares about all that bowing. I am no monarchist but she does give a great deal to the poor. As an individual she also isn't a particulary big spender. Funny..I feel quite warm towards her after the disgusting behaviour of our elected MPs.

  • See the 1606 Charter of Virginia which granted America's British forefathers a licence to settle and colonize America and all future sovereigns authority over all the citizens on colonized land in America stolen from the Indians. After America declared it's independence the Paris Peace Treaty that was signed specifically identifies King George iii as

prince of U.S.. King George gave up most of his claims over his Amercian colonies but kept his right to recieve payments from them.

  • If America really one it's independence they would never have agreed to pay repairations to King George. In the 13th Amendment the US President was made subservient to the Sovereign of England and it forbids US Presidents and officials from using royal titles.

America won the battle but lost the war. If someone has finacial control over a country then they have complete control over that country.

  • *won*

  • celticbandit - @ "In the 13th Amendment the US President was made subservient to the Sovereign of England and it forbids US Presidents and officials from using royal titles".

Regarding "subservience", perhaps the next step would be to believe that such indeed is the case!

Regarding US Presidents and Officials being forbidden to use Royal Titles: Why should an American want to degrate himself with meaningless labels, fancy circus head-gear, feathers, and golden frilly ribons?

  • THANK YOU EURIDIKE88.- couldn't agree with you more, fancy carriages...feathers and hats from the 16th century..payed by the taxpayer! ..must be NICE! Americans would not tolerate that for a second. THANK GOD we are not subservient to that type of BS in the US

  • Don't disrespect our ancient English traditions, please... for all their excess and pomposity they are actually quite important to my identity. These things represent centuries of history and the life of a people; the monarchy is old, England is old: it is a simple equation of pride, almost a spiritual thing. If that is 'degrading' to an American, fine, whatever... but don't take the piss, it's isn't nice. ; )

  • Fuglyno1 - Disrespect? I did nothing of the kind. I always considered British "things royal", an innocent and harmless deviation befitting the British character which is unfortunately diluting in a fashion fast and sad.

    Sir/Madam, raise your glass please:

    I give you the Windsors!

  • Your argument is completely dumb. The US is an independent and sovereign nation APART from G. Britain any doubt. We are friend with G. Britain, we share the same cultural and historic roots. THAT'S IT

  • No-one wants to be under British rule. It's the priniple. The US is forbidden to use Royal tiltles. So it is under British rule and has no sovereignty. Prove my argument wrong through documented evidence, logic and fact. The President of the US is the President of the US inc. which is a corporation owned by the Sovereign of England. Not a single law is passed without the Queen's consent in America.

  • ..c'mon.. the Queen has no jurisdiction at all in American law. Ever heard of Congress? any lawmaker seeking Elizabeth the II's favor, would be voted out of office...and you know it

  • What on earth are you on about friend.?, America is a sovereign nation? It decided to breakaway from the motherland but that there was their choice! We in Britain don't lust after any claims to the U.S.A. We welcome our American brothers and sisters into the fold of the great worldwide community of the English speaking nations.

  • @celticbandit this guy's a corny ignoramus trying to be smart by copying ring of power after never paying attention at school.

  • I found out the year of the coronation of the Queen from a Doctor Who episode-The Idiot's Lantern.

  • Yes, but it was a sunny day in the episode, but in realtiy, it was raining.

  • guess nobody climbed a TV tower during the actual coronation.

Anyway, the whole thing looked well done.

I am an US citizen but I do feel that the British still need a Queen Elizabeth and Monarchy. I think that those who are overly harsh over her is just plain envious or jealous. God Save The Queen

  • God saves US from the abuses of the monarchy. It is absolutely amazing that you are so taken by "titles" of royalty- B.Shit! she's gotta learn what is like to put up with a boss, bills! imagine that!, saving for retirement! raising kids w/o help- Gosh unbelievable - learn from America and the french

  • Are you upset that the Obamas visited the Royal Family? The Bush's visited her too.

Are you mad at all of the major political parties?

  • I'm upset by the pompous expectation of bowing and breaking protocol by god forbid hugging her...again a life of entitlement and privilege, again make her get up at 6.00 a.m., work 10 hrs, cook dinner, put kids to bed and repeat it daily for 40 yrs like there rest of us!!!

  • But Michelle Obama hugged the Queen and the U.K. did not seem to care.

  • Great, now take away her wealth, give to the poor of the world and truly needy! and the hell with "her royal highness for what"?????????????

  • Exactly! She hugged her; but did not make a curtsy! There is a difference!

  • @philadelphialatino Not a Brit? Understandable.

  • make her get a job - imagine that? pay for child care, save for retirement, illness - what a backward way of thinking, you're stuck in the 16th century.. you really believe her SHIT doesn't smell? Learn from the french and their monarchy

  • what you mean learn from the french we had a civil war way before thats why we are a constitutional monarchy its all tradition anyway.

  • @philadelphialatino She very much has a full-time job FOR LIFE. She was young and recently married when her father died and this duty fell to her. (unfortunately, "duty" is an outdated work nowadays which does not bode well for any country) Her husband's life was changed for ever too - but they put duty first. She is also a Christian and took her oaths as sacred and not to be renegaded on. I'm afraid you do not know much about history either .... :)

  • For all Americans who have yet to pick up a US history book , this is precisely one of the many reasons we fought for our independence against the British. We used to pay homage to King George the III, the monarchy still does whatever the hell they want at the expense of their own people. America wake up! that's precisely the reason we fought a revolution!!!!

  • If you declared your independence why did your "founding fathers" agree to pay reparations to King George iii after the war?

  • Americans don't stand for royal "titles" what makes them so special? - name one reason I should pay A DIME to support their lavish lifestyle, when I'm breaking my back to make a living to support their lavish ways..god Bless America!

  • are we still part of Britain? NO - thank GOD NO

  • I live in the city where independence began....in fact just a few blocks from independence hall. Obviously Americans' roots are of Britain..our roots, that's it! Ever read the declaration of Independence? it had everything to do w/the abuses of the monarchy... Hello? Taxation without representation? does that ring a Bell Einstein?

  • Absolutely DUMB, they all still act as if their "shit doesn't smell" Oh please.....go out and get a 9-5 job to pay a mortgage, save for retirement while raising kids-like the rest of America

  • big deal, they do nothing more than cost the tax payer money..gimme me a break with the lavish living and the sense of royal entitlement - how about donating their fortune to the poor and truly needy!

  • exactly. all these silly people perpetuate a violent demonstration of inequality and awful complex of superiority. It's a joke they keep maintaiting this dark-age traditions...for God's sake...wake up...everyone is equal. Monarchy makes me mad.

  • thanks sergio...nobody can answer why she's so damn special? nobody can answer why she deserves to be royally honored for a lifetime, nobody can answer by she can't bust her ass and work for a living like the rest of us

  • @philadelphialatino What exactly does the British monarchy have to do with an American? Foreigners just don't understand why people like monarchy, ask a Dutch, Spanish, Danish, Norweigan or Swedish person why they like their monarchs. I'd rather spend £40 million a year on the monarch, than the hideous amount you spend on your president. $500,000,000 a year to maintain and fly airforce one! Talk about excessive!

  • No Obama does not spend 500 M dlls to fly a plane, - you're misguided, or dont understand the quote you are pitching. Learn from the FRENCH or from us in the US of A, come to Philadelphia and learn how this nation freed itself from the self imposed tyranny of King George III, to become a fully independent and sovereign republic. Have lived in Spain & understand the love of Spaniards for J. Carlos. Still misguided, these people are yesteryear news, from another century,. 2010 hasnt caught up

  • @philadelphialatino I am not misguided at all, it was in our national press, quoted by the white house. The French have had 5 republics since 1789; to what extent can that be considered a good thing? 5 attempts at a republic? You should read your own history books because George III was not a tyrant at all, he was a constitutional monarch at that time. It was parliament who imposed taxes upon the colonies, the King cannot levy taxes independently. Our Monarchs protect our constitutions!

  • George the III was a tyrant, "taxation w/o representation" yes, instituted by parliament..but he was still the leader of the country and did nothing to oppose it . British Monarchs certainly did not protect our cherished individual liberties, otherwise you wouldn't of ended up with a revolution and creation of a new country here in my backyard: Philadelphia

  • @philadelphialatino It is pointless trying to argue with you because you fail to recognise fundamental issues. Please don't shower our institutions with negativity because it is pointless. Britain and the Crown is interwoven, so it won't change. There is more to be said for reform than revolution; reform usually doesn't result in death and suffering of millions like in France, Russia, Germany, USA, Spain, Italy. We had the civil war in the 1640's and learnt from it.

  • @philadelphialatino I'm amazed by how much ignorance you can display in so few words. For the record, the queen works a damn site harder than the vast majority of westerners. I say this as a frenchman, and I know I can speak for the majority in France when I say we have a deep admiration for the british monarchy and in particular the queen. Your comments are typical of the narrow minded American stereotype and the majority of great Americans I know suffer for it.

  • @bastiantw self entitlement, grew up with castles, wealth and a self entitled spoon in her mouth. As a Frenchman you are undermining the great efforts that your leaders did for you. I've seen Chenonceaux, Blois, Angers, Loire Valley castles and it was despicable how your monarchy got away with it! my admiration goes to all who work blodd sweat and tears for EARNING their wealth.

  • @philadelphialatino

She is our head of state.

The Queen was destined to embody and protect the UK and her other realms before she was born and for the rest of her life. She made a promise, and upon taking it she was duty bound to serve her realms, and we, her subjects, duty bound to respect her title.

America has it's written constitution with it's checks and balances, the UK has a constitutional monarchy with elected parliament that work in political 'equilibrium'.
