  • What a bunch of crap! Teddy Boy was the poster boy for crime and nepotism. He got drunk and killied a woman, then had breakfast and sobered up before he HAD to report it. This guy did more crimes in a week than most career criminals.

  • I wish that Obama had Ted Kennedy helping him see that he needs to stick by his own plan to end the bush tax cuts for the top 2% of the wealthy of America. Now the republicans threaten him with not helping the unemployed of America. There are not enough jobs for these people. Obama, stand up to those republicans!

  • Yes, I miss him too and I'm a Conservative Republican. Didn't always agree with him, but always felt his heart was in the right place. He tired to make this country a better place. God Bless you Ted and THANK YOU for serving our country.

  • Silly bigot, proof read before you post.

  • Teddy understood that crimes based upon hate are especially vicious. God bless you Teddy. We miss that powerful voice fighting for the left out and the left behind. Whether the issue is health care, hate crimes, education, ending poverty, or fighting for worker's rights: We will keep faith with the hope. We will continue the work. We will never let the dream die.

  • @Mayofour Kennedy and crime? What a joke!! He should know about crime and how money will buy you out of murder and infidelity!! What a joke!!

  • You're comments prove you to be the "anti-American, freedom hating cocksucker." Your kind of hate-mongering is so out of line that it smacks of threats on people whom you think are "bad" Americans. You are an arrogant ignorant ass.

  • Rest in peace Teddy. you will be missed

  • Well said Senator Kennedy.

He sure was one heck of a senator and helped correct the wrongs and turned them into rights. We all miss the "Liberal Lion" and will be grateful for his heart and dedication to human society.

  • Ted Kennedy

A Life of Deceit and Corruption

  • some of you right wing facist should be ashmed of yourselves. Ted isn't even buried hardly and you are on here smashing him. He has done more for working families and the common folk middle class then any senator in our nations history. He is the LION of the seneate and I say thank you to Ted Kennedey. We will miss his fight for working families , he is one of a kind civil rights, univ HC, min wage laws. You name it he has done it.

  • There are more poor Americans than ever before in history!

The poor still do not get good healthcare.

The poor still do not get a good education.

The poor are still eating fast food.

The poor are still living in a sea of crime.

Massachusetts is a very poor and uneducated state that is bankrupt because of Government healthcare.

What happened to the Trillion$ spent to fight poverty?

The Kennedy crime family has raped America!

  • Isn't that the truth. Pisses me off when idiots continually bring up the whole Chappaquiddick mess. Yes it was wrong, and yes a life was lost by his control. However if it's one thing this man did, it was he had the balls to admit his faults and in turn, try to change for the better which obviously he did.

Can't say the same for others who had lives go look for invisible weapons and die looking yet continue to be selfishly stubborn saying their choices were still right.

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616

No he didn't admit his mistakes. He walked past numerous homes on his way back to his house, and never once summoned help for MJK. He changed for the better how? By abandoning his wife & family, becoming an alcoholic, and using tax money to capture "Undocumented democrats". My family were Democrats, and I remember when this happened. They were appalled. He should have been imprisoned, and if he weren't a Kennedy, he would have been.

  • @arslp Get off your high horse pal. Rich white people getting away with shit that would have you or I in jail for life is nothing new. Kennedy wasn't the first and it will happen a thousand times this year.

  • @WorldBFree2006

Gosh, thanks. Your words of wisdom make it all seem so trivial now. If breaking the law happens often enough, it's not wrong anymore - even to kill someone. OK. Well, I'll just stay on my high horse; because it was wrong then, and it's still wrong. Don't know whether you believe in God - I do; and He says he's no respecter of persons. Kennedy money won't help Teddy now.

  • do you realize that your taking the opposite side on the issue of hate crimes. that makes you a racist. i doubt u said, "hey im gonna go find i random political video and preach conservatism." you saw HATE CRIMES and were compelled to it

  • This is Ted Kennedy's greatest legacy besides Chappaquiddick. Writing up a Thought Crimes act deceptively disguised as a 'Hate Crimes Bill". He was no friend of the 1st Amendment.

  • You don't get to judge someone's life and their legacy. Neither us do. Hate Crimes act wasn't an act of war against the first amendment! Think devilish and horrific thoughts all day long, but the moment that you act on those bigoted, intolerable, ancient, cruel and HATEful thoughts, it's a hate crime.

  • Sen. Kennedy just died, for goodness sake! And what does the radical right do? They keep h8ing! How sick. I hope his legacy lives on as LGBT civil rights are respected and we can build on the hate crimes victory with passage of ENDA, UAFA, and repeals of DOMA & DADT.

  • Go to Ronald Reagans, Jerry Falwells & John Novak's funeral video's & read the vile hate comming from you leftists.

    HYPOCRITE!

  • Falwell deserved every bit of his vile comments. You get as much as you give. Bob Novak was a talented journalist who turned pundit and joke. President Reagan, while not a fan of his policies and I do believe that he sold this nation out in 1979 to win an election was a brilliant man. A man who honored the office of the President of the United States. You and I don't get to pass judgment on good peoples lives. Like your mama said "don't have anything nice to say, shut your fuckin' mouth!

  • langleywil,

How ironic, you say "Falwell deserved every bit of his vile comments", then later say "You & I don't get to pass judgement on peoples lives"...........

Like I said, you're a fucking hypocrite, and a dumb one at that!

Your comment on hate crimes is equally rediculous. If one commits a robbery against a black person, how the hell do you know I did it for reasons of "hate"? Maybe he just needed the money & why is it that white people cannot be victims of "hate crimes" by law?

  • I said "deserved every bit of his vile comments...you get as good as you give."!!!! I'm not passing judgment, just stating a simple fact. A robbery isn't a hate crime...lol. umm, hate crimes are reserved for crimes BASED ON HATE. Robbing someone doesn't usually follow the idea that you HATE gay people, black people, women and all others covered. You're scared and it's understandable "flyboy", but you'll have to learn to relax.

  • Your argument is ludicrous! Everything I said about Kennedy was a FACT too! By saying "Falwell deserved his vile comments", you're passing judgement on him you retard!

I'll throw one of your ignorant questions back at ya. How do you know the motives behind someones reason for comitting a crime? Are you God?

  • No. I'm not God, but if by evidence it is discovered the said crime was motivated by hate and not out of some other reason...I'm not judging Falwell. He continued to be vile towards Americans. He continued to destroy the morale of this great country. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, right? Critical thinking of someone is different than passing judgment. And how old are you by the way? "Retard"? I hope you don't beat on mentally handicapped people. Probably do though.

  • Oh I get it now. When liberals say vile things about conservatives, its "critical thinking" but when conservatives say vile things about liberals, its "Hatespeech & passing judgement"........LOL! So typical & expected from people like you!

Do you actually beleive the bullcrap you spew or is your tounge planted firmly in your cheek? I hope its the latter, or you might what to seek a mental health proffesional.

Have a nice day. I'm done talking to people with childish mentalities. Its a waste.

  • BTW, sounds to me like you just "passed judgement on Falwells life"!!!!!!! LOL!

Kennedy was quite vile toward America & did plenty to destroy American morale as well!

Your a hoot. Open mouth, insert foot!

  • I didn't pass judgment on Falwells life. He simply wanted to destroy Americans. If you can point out to me something that Senator Kennedy wanted to do to destroy America and Americans, let me know :) I'm all eyes!

  • And ya know. I appreciate men like Kennedy that stand up and say "I will fight for you!" If your heroes are Falwell and Robertson and Bjork, by all means spread the word!!! But I'm happy with my heroes and those I appreciate for their works.

  • Yeah. A childish mind indeed. Coming from someone that refers to people as "retards". When conservatives say vile things (which you just admitted you do) it is vile. When liberals are vile, it's still vile. When one spews vitriol, you should endure the coming vile against you. Falwell was no exception. He hated Americans! It was so very clear and evident. Kennedy didn't hate Americans. He supported Americans and their rights. He wanted to and did ensure your personal and work rights!

  • You sound like the devil yourself, full of hate.

  • Why are you so angry? I mean, you're not making any sense. You're obsession with hate is quite worrisome. What good did Satan, Hitler, Polpot, or Stalin do? How can you decide a man's destiny based on one event? If you can do that, then why, OH GOD, are you on youtube??

  • Are you God? If so, why are you on youtube? You don't get to decide a man's destiny. There is no reason for you to speak such hate and encourage such violence.

  • your wish has come true.

  • -10, thats a new record!!

what did I even say again??

  • As we all know, is still on a revenge trip over the murders of his brothers. He blamed the American people for those murders because no one ever came to trial saying the American people should never have allowed it. Motivated by the purest of "hate" he has worked tirelessly on it for 40 years to destroy the rights and liberties of the American people. He'll do anything to stiffle, gag or cripple anyone who doesn't see eye to eye with him.

  • I'm glad to see SLOWLY America is shifting, but in my opinion, so slowly, and unnessasarily so. It makes NO sense to me to mix religion with law. You can tell this guy is good politian, a brave one, but as a UK citizen, as a European, I find it embarassing to see him justify the arguement with bible quotes. I wish religion would take the back seat in America, I didn't realise it was so backward. Fath should be a personal choice, nothing to do with law and legislation. Good luck America.

  • Actually, the Biblical quotes justify the bill. The reason religion fluorishes in the United States is because church and state are separate. Therefore, the Biblical quotes appeal to religious individuals.

However, the religious Reich is trying to gain power by shifting religion onto the state. Faith will fluorish only when it remains a personal choice. We have seen the rise of the churchless population - those erroneously believe the Reich speaks for God. I know such people personally .

  • I was glad to know that HR.1913 PASSED the US House. Please SUPPORT S.909 that is coming up this month of May 2009, introduced by no other than the wonderful Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) Send an e-mail and send a phone call to YOUR Congressperson to SUPPORT this Civil Rights bill. Vote YES on S.909!

  • Your pastors and religious individuals as well as your religious organizations claim peaceful disagreement all the while preach from the pulpit to hate the GLBT community and incite the more vicious of your members to attack and harm those of the GLBT community by quoting scriptures of death.

You are hypocrites and vipers just as the Pharisees and Sadducee of Jesus' time.

  • STOP THE HATE CRIMES LAW

"I have decided to stick with love.

Hate is too great a burden to bear."

    ----Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

"The time is always right to do what is right."

--- Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • STOP THE HATE CRIMES LAW

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

    --Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • so im asuming that when someone commits a hate crime against you , you'll be saying something else right. or is it that you're against gays, bisexuals, lesbians, other races not your own, and transgendered people? Well thats just sick and that would make you a horrible human being. Sorry to have to break the news to you but thats seems to be the reality of the situation.

  • STOP THE HATE CRIMES LAW

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. "

-- Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • STOP THE HATE CRIMES LAW

Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council reports:

A "hate crimes" law is really a "thought crime" law that punishes a person's beliefs-part of the Left's intolerant agenda to silence the voice of Christians

and Conservatives in America and eliminate moral restraint.

  • STOP THE HATE CRIMES LAW

Tony Perkins, President of Family Research Council reports:

An "offended" homosexual could accuse a religious broadcaster . . . a pastor . . . Sunday School teacher . . . or other individual of causing emotional injury simply by expressing the biblical view that homosexual behavior is morally wrong and unhealthy.

That's all it could take to trigger a wave of federal prosecutions and begin an era of censorship like America has never seen!

  • but isn't their some law or admendment thingy that say the government dosen't mix in religion and tell me where in the bible does it say its okay to murder a human being because who they are because if so let me know

  • That's one of the greatest Youtube comments I have ever read!

    Please answer me this:

Why do the good Irish American people of SouthBoston or Mass or the USA put up with Teddy Kennedy or the Kennedy family?

  • if they don't they should equal rights remember. equal rights for everyone

  • he may have gotten away with murder, but i don't see how that has anything to do with the situation. so yea he may be a hypocrite but what about all those people who are dying out there because of hate crime. hmm maybe you should think about that.

  • The master of the Thought Crimes bill.

  • No wonder Liberals don't believe in Freedom of Speech. This bill completely criminalizes the 1st Amendment.

  • Teddy Kennedy is my hero.

  • Ive seen your same misinformed post in other videos. Everything you are saying is out of ignorance, and I am sure that you have absolutley no knowledge regarding the incident, and simply let other hardline conservatives tell you what to say and think. I will therefore make assumptions about you; your a politically-ignorant conservative of the old English-Protestant republican party seeking to hold down everyone differant, but especially Roman-Catholics.

  • Actually, the matter of kennedy killing that lady is history, no political spin, it is simply what happened. Go back to communist china and work in the rice fields.

  • BOBBY WASNT BAD

  • Really.. i thought he was a hero!.. of course, i wouldn't think he would be to a bigot(err.. fundy).

  • hell yes ted kennedy!

  • The Senate attached this bill to a defense bill.

In the Senate, EVERY Democrat voted for it, 9 Republicans voted for it, and 39 Republicans voted against it.

No president has ever vetoed a defense bill, so this could get fun to watch.

  • rlly.. cant he just pick and choose what he wants?.. Or maybe say no to something and reset the bill with the suggested changes?

Interesting move if he cant ; /

  • No, he cannot do that. He has only two options once it's been passed by both houses and brought before him. Sign it, or veto it. He may veto it, but I doubt he will. The argument the other side is using is it's unconstitutional. If that's valid the courts will strike it down later, but it's abuot election time and if he signs it they can say how nice they were to the poor homos.

  • Leojboby, what you are describing is called a line item veto which presidents have been trying to get for decades, but Congress won't give it to him (mostly because they sneak a lot of pork barrel crap in most of these bills that they would like to protect). If the people in Washington were reasonable people, then none of these childish games would be necessary. If the GOP had wanted to give Bush the line item veto, they had 6 years in which to do it,... but they didn't.

  • Thank you, Kennedy!

  • Good speech. I hope it makes a difference. For too long our country has ignored the civil rights of the GLBT community.

  • civil rights?.. what about polygamy. Do you not support their equal rights too? Or maybe just group marriage?... Sibling marriages perhaps?, y do we deny their civil rights??...

Slippery slope imo. none have convinced me otherwise. No im not a bigot/biased, im struggling with homosexuality...

  • Struggle all you like, but I'm not buying the the Santorum slippery slope where he says "If anything goes, then what's next but men marrying their dogs." You may never get to the point of accepting the way God/nature made you, but some of us have. And we would like to have the same rights (1,100 of them at last count) that heterosexuals have. Gays are getting married all over the world, and the slippery slope you fear has yet to materialize.

  • But Kennedy is speaking about the Hate Crimes Bill here, not gay marraige. Race, gender, religions are given those federal protectons, but the LGBT community & those that are disabled are denied. As somebody that has been gay bashed & faced a law enforcement & judiciary that couldn't have cared less, believe you me we need protections from those that would harm us.

  • I checked out your profile. At 19 I was a LONG WAYS from accepting myself as being gay even though I knew it at 5 yrs old. As a matter a fact I nearly married at 25. Kids come to terms with their gayness early these days, but you need not feel rushed. We all have our own time schedules. I concentrated on getting an education until I was ready to deal with the inevitable.

  • But the fact that reparative therapies targets the possible causes of homosexuality which can be applied to many(or so they say) and to me, is enough to be uneasy whenever such tendencies appear. Along with the 'creative intent' rhetoric, which currently i have no reason not to believe, circling endlessly... causes nothing short of repulsiveness towards naturally occuring emotions/attractions.

  • Doesnt the law prosecute violent hate(or non-hate) crimes with equal justice?

  • Aye, its all based on assumptions...Also, I've heard that in some countries, xcept Sweden(that I know of) gay marriage has a positive spin on their marriage statistics.

  • Some law enforcement sadly turn a blind eye to hate crimes no matter the laws in place. Gay marriage statistics can't be any worse than straight marriage statistics (which are pathetic). So gays marrying could only help in that regard, plus the monogamy implied by marraige encourages more stable individuals, families and health practices. Even without marraige or civil unions or whatever anybody wants to call it, I'm a giant advocate for committed relationships.

  • As for reparative therapy, I personally find it nothing more than brainwashing. Plus it has a very poor success rate as well. I'm living proof that you can repress your own orientation for incredibly long periods of time. In addition, being gay isn't something that needs to be fixed. It is naturally occurring throughout the animal kingdom and is akin to the 10% born left-handed (who btw were killed/ostracized in Ancient Rome).

  • I wonder how they supported the "left-handers must/could be killed/ostracized".

Brainwashing. i have no idea how that works but atm, it seems JUST that. Every person 'coming out of the lifestyle', apparently ALWAYS has a religious background and/or a deep-rooted belief in someones preaching... But just as I believe in ex-ex-gays, theres not sufficient reasons to not believe in ex-gays. No matter how 'ok' someone might feel.

  • I'm not sure how they justified it, but the latin word for "left" is "sinister," and they would even kill babies in the crib because of it. The point is that this isn't the first time a culture has irrationally condemned a naturally occurring percentage of their population.

[Among certain Muslims of today, it is still an insult to shake with your left hand (which has to do more with hygiene than Ancient Rome, eating with your right hand and wiping with your left hand)]

  • There's certainly nothing daft about you.

Thank you for discussing this with him. Whenever I see the words "slippery slope" my eyes glaze over and my inner bitch gets channeled. :)

  • Kelly, I named myself daft for a reason. If I say something stupid, what else would you expect & if I say something smart, it's ironic. It's a win-win. :)

When he said he was "struggling with homosexuality" and his profile said he was 19 and from Puerto Rico, I figured he wasn't your typical "slippery slope" advocate. It sounds like he's just having a hard time reconciling his cultural/religious expectations with the way God/nature made him. Who among us haven't been there?
