  • this is the best gift i ever got

  • why is there subtitles

  • Well that irritates me, I have a sony ereader, that's all it's called not this one being reviewed, and it is the most unorganized and infuriating piece of technology I have. If anyone gets an E-reader from sony be sure it's the right kind, otherwise you ma waste a few hundred dollars.

  • Yes, can we upload any pdf that we already have? Or can it only show 'licensed' pdfs? I wouldn't like to pay for downloading an ebook...

  • Great review of a great ereader!

  • Weird - the text that was showing on the e-book is the exact book that I am currently reading - Devil Bones by Kathy Reich - cue the theme from Twilight ZAone!

  • dodododododo

  • hey guys..which is the best ebook reader i can get, never tried any of these before..

Also can i just upload PDF files I already have on my pc to read on this reader? please help..thank u!!

  • Is this guy really a tech reviewer? 'Replace' the battery by usb... Seriously?

  • "... even a 1gb will add like a thousand books, because picture files don't take up a lot"

Ah, those famous TXT and PDF picture files...

  • I think he just misstated it...it did sound funny though.

  • Now, it would be nice to be able to scan any book into this gadget....and save trees..not use paper anymore...and also, children would not need to carry such heavy backpags to school..if all of their books are in this small gadget. Happy to see green tech.

  • i hate these things. i would never replace any of my books with this tripe. NO it will not replace books as long as im alive. stupid things.

  • Do not get me wrong..I love books..specialy old ones...but what I am saying that for carrying purposes...it would be nice to take some weight off from students by introducing this in schools....if not well something else more advanced that could hold all needed information but in less space and weight for the students...for simply pleasure reading..of course..nothing like a book...but we must use tech..and introduce it where it is needed.

  • @hellomanscoffe say wat u like it can happen u can be wrong

  • i love reading and believe it or not i am reading books and articles on my Nokia E63 :-)

i think i am gonna buy one of this ebooks but don't you think youtubers that it would be nice if there is a cell phone the same size as this ebooks reader and provides the same functionality

by the way great review i like your all reviews

  • learn about what you review

its their 2nd reader - the prs-500 was 1st model

  • Why does the formatting look all messed up on a lot of the pages? Is that a glitch or that's how a lot of books look on this thing?

  • Great product.

I think this is the future for reading most books.

I am somewhat dependent on seeing color pictures with genuine representation for some of the studing i do - like pictures of different dysphories. Also I would like to take notes or make comments to the text. When you have several books that weight like heavy cargo it woud be great to have a product like this.

  • I still prefer the Amazon Kindle

  • I'll buy a product like this when it has a left and right screen, where one screen can be used for reference. e.g. for a technical book, you could view a diagram from one page while reading the text from another. I also hear that this re-sizes all pages to fit the screen, with no zoom capability. That's another downer. So product has not yet come of age.

  • ^^^This is a good comment^^^

  • What is the strategy for Sony for not selling you a plug other than a usb device? it's a non sense...

The price in Europe is to high for this kind of device (279 Euro) and the book proposed on line are still expensive and to few in French languages...

  • if i were to buy this, where would i be able to download e-books from?

are there any websites for free copies of e-books?

    thanks

    =)

  • Yes, starting with the gutenberg project. Also many new books are given free in ebook format.

  • Thank you for your very nice review, on a GREAT product. However, I would like to add that this isn't Sony's first reader ,or their latest. The first one was Sony PRS-500 and the latest is the PRS-700.

  • it's tooooooo expensive!!!!

  • I just ordered it, can't wait till it comes in!! :)

  • i want this

  • iphone screen over time causes eye strain.

  • lol if cool device, wow i can have my Harry Potter series on it.... less space and can read my book anywhere.... can also be listening to music...

  • how come sony like to copy everybody else's idea ?

  • sony isnt the only one that copies stuff from others

  • Wow,that's nice,no need for books anymore:P

  • POS VERY EXPENSIVE

  • yes, but a 1000 books are also expensive.

  • u still pay 4 the ebooks

  • No shit.

  • its a piece of crap and old technoligy if u think about it, for a third of the price u can get a half decient palm pda from ebay which displays ebooks, plays games, movies, music and more.

  • dude, really, id like to see u read 500 pages from a PDA and have no eye pain. this is all about NO backlight...

  • i doubt u could see anything on PDA without a backlight. Plus, this is created for quality READING and not games, notes or something else...

  • Lol at the kids commenting who have never read a book and think this is pointless.

    Awesome product, nice video Albert

  • Imagine if this thing had wi-fi capabilities, allowing you to download ebooks, audio, or photos from any internet hotspot?

Too bad the screen is only greyscale.

  • What a useless POS

  • Amazing job Albert, this product looks amazing, and it is so futuristic. The only thing I am wondering is how to put books on there.

  • nice, store thousands of book in a computer ebook tablet. Bad thing is libraries and paper books will go extinct lol

  • Nah. Can't see that ever happening. Good old fashion paper has been around for thousands of years. When the pc first came along, everyone was like "its the end of paper in the office" but they were wrong. For some reason everyone wanted a printer so they could print their work out and have a nice paper version lol.

  • oh, cool

  • cool

  • These books are the way of the future. Go anywere and have a book you want to read instead of carrying books in your luggage while on holiday. Like an MP3 of the book world.

  • "so u can shee" I LOL'D

  • he didn't say how you transfer a book onto it.

  • This shit costs over $200. Too pricy. Depends how you see it, though. Because people download books for free. this is just a great way to get it out of your computer and read it in bed.

  • My 505 has saved me a fortune in classic books. A shop will charge £3 for a public domain title which you can download free from the internet. Reading them on a pc is awful, but the ereader is great.

  • /watch?v=BGCiygHZzDU

  • Ya...we have this thing now...called an mp4 player...and mobile phones, ti puts books into movies...

  • this is old, there is a touch screen ebook reader already from Sony the PRS-700BC Reader Digital Book

  • sucks. if it had color and internet access I would think about. Google should come out with one that incorporates Google Reader and Google Books.

  • Lame.

  • wow cool!

  • xD do not buy it

  • don't forget it at the library! :p

  • Waste of money. lol

  • ya........
